[WOTC] Shield Attachments

Descrição
SHIELD ATTACHMENTS

This mod adds 6 attachments/upgrades you can install on your Ballistic Shields.

I shamelessly recommend you go grab my other mod Upgrade Slot Breakthrough for Melee Weapons so as to get an extra upgrade slot on your shields.

WHAT'S IN THIS MOD

The following attachments, with the standard 3 tiers of Basic, Advanced and Superior:

  1. Alloy Upgrades which give increasing chances to deflect incoming projectiles.
  2. Bullseye Modules which forces enemies to attack you.
  3. Breaching Modules which makes the shield-equipped soldier break through walls and obstacles. Incompatible with Fold Module.
  4. Fold Modules, a short-range teleport device. Incompatible with Breaching Module.
  5. KnockRush Systems which increase the damage from your shield bash attacks the further you start from your target and also destroys its cover.
  6. Siphon Matrices which grant yourself and allies ablative (shield) points on non-Lost kills.

Pretty much all these values can be freely edited through *.ini config.

go to Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\2197927839\Config, open XComShieldAttachmentsSetup and follow instructions to modify the effects of the attachments

All of the attachments have visual effects attached to their ablities.

KNOWN BUGS

None so far, but do let me know in the comments if any creep up.

FAQ

Q: How do I get my hands on these?
A: from enemies' timed loot drops. You have a 25% chance of getting a shield attachment on any drop. This is on top of regular loot, it will never replace a vanilla weapon upgrade.

Also from the following enemies base loot, which is the loot you get automatically when you return to the Avenger on non-evac missions (consists only of enemy corpses in un-modded games). 50% drop chance.

Q: Vanilla? LWOTC? RPGO?
A: No, no, yes.

Q:Can I use this mid-campaign?
A: sure.

@RustyDios - thanks for the response! I found the MCM setting on Squad Select:
"Upgrade Icons Only for Primaries". Unchecked that and everything started working perfect.
Thanks so much!

No slots, or no *access* to slots?
The mod doesn't hard require Mod Everything Reloaded. You could also use Robojumpers Squad select with the MCM option for "show upgrades on primaries" to OFF.

Other than that you would need to edit either the Ballistic Shield mod or another 3rd party mod like WSR, CUS or Template Master to give the shields slots.

Where would I even begin troubleshooting the fact that there are no empty spaces on my shields in which to put upgrades?

Steam guide to console commands

look for additem, then the template name (see discussions)

@Dood! how does that work? I saw the same instructions for the melee one but what do you mean console in? just run the commands in console?

LWOTC player here. Never used this before since the author seemed to indicate it wouldn't work. But since TrooperCoon kindly provided the template names to console in these items I tested them out and have had no issues. These shield modules look amazing! Note, it may require tweaking the config if you want the shield to have the same 3 upgrade slots as LWOTC guns.
