Republic Of Åland

Description
After much pressure from the CCCP, Finland decided to allow the islands of Åland become independant. A lot of anger came from its Nordic neighbours after this happend with Sweden proclamining that the islands should be theirs!

However after quickly proping up a sympathetic goverment to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Åland proclaimed that only its people will rule this tiny nation, and no other.
Thus begins this small but mighty nations story!

About the map:
This is a bit of a challanging map, requiring heavy use of shipping to be able to manage the logistical hurdles needed to overcome to be able to survive on these Islands.
The islands are full of rich resources with the most valuable veins being in the most hardest to reach regions which will require small towns everywhere to be able to fully utilise all the natural resources effectivly.

Enjoy :)

Thanks aantono for pinging me and letting me know it was released!

Enjoy! :)

Can you please add boxite resource to the map for the recent update of the game?

Oh nice!, Would love to see some pictures of your bustling utopia :D
I am currently working on another map at the moment which I hope to finish off in the next few days which you may like if you want another logistical challange.

If you want another fun map then I recommend one of my favorite; Republic Of Fjordland

I haven't tried a lot of maps yet, but by far the logistics and planning on this one are at least a level above everything else :)

Kentucky map may be on par, but in my taste throughput of shipping and connection is more interesting than difficult terrain, so, kudos again - and also waiting for next maps of similar style, if any are coming!

I'm currently going for self-sufficent steel and then mechanical/vehicle production: a couple of years in on a 2nd or 3rd attempt and got myself a mining town for iron and coal, the main city with factories for cement, bricks, etc, all the construction stuff, and a small rural village for food, clothes, and alcohol.

can't really imagine shipping out the aggregates cause both getting em and shipping is super slow, i'd rather store em in caches both in remote town and destination - a workaround for low shipping speed when either moving to port from mines or when shipping inland to factories.

Not doing well in the cash department yet, but by radical investment (started the game with easy money) I got only little import now, even when building - mostly fuel and citizen needs, which will be supplied soon and driven around by small barkasses, effectively making an almost zero trade balance

Yeah its super hard! I think I did about 4 attempts before getting a proper little city going for self sufficency.
I found exporting aggregates the easiest to make cash quickly at the start.

gee, this one is difficult: developing remote towns is hard without construction offices everywhere
also, the ships are very expensive and small-scale electricity is also an issue if there are no mods >_<

anyways great map, currently my favorite!
