The Emperor of Venice

Description
Venice Culture Challenge

Can you win a culture victory as Venice, playing against the Byzantines, the Ottomans and Morocco on a Mediterranean themed Small Continents map?

There are two versions of this scenario; one with randomised resources, the other with fixed legendary resources, guaranteeing a good start.

Requires Gods & Kings (Byzantines) and Brave New World (Venice & Morocco). The scenario is designed to use the new trade routes and tourism features of BNW.

Information about the challenge, with screenshots and action reports can be found in this thread:
http://steamproxy.net/app/8930/discussions/0/648817377734807348/
Or search for "The Emperor of Venice" in the Civ 5 forum (since that link doesn't seem to work).

Features:

* Good random map, chosen for it's potential for interesting tactical naval battles.

* Mediterranean theme - map edited to remove all ice, snow, tundra and jungle, replacing the latter three with desert, plains and forest.

* 10 city states, 2 of each type, all Mediterranean cities.

* Only Culture and Time victory conditions are active.

* Resources and Goody Huts are randomised in the standard version.
* Legendary resources ensure a good start in the legendary version.

* The challenge is intended to be played on Emperor level at Quick speed, but can be played on whichever level or speed that suits you best.

* Although this scenario was designed to be played as Venice, you can choose to play as the Byzantines, Ottomans or Morocco if you prefer.

* If you want to join in the challenge and post screenshots and action reports, please do so in the forum thread mentioned above.

What doesn't? Maps not showing up? I don't know how to fix that yet. But you can copy them from your mods folder to your maps folder. Other people have been doing that.

Ah, I see.

I called it Emperor because that was the difficulty level I intended it to be played on. Some people have played it on king level and named their reports "The King of Venice".

Shouldn't it be "Doge", and not "Emperor"? :p

A couple of other people have complained about that. Apparently they found the mod in their mods folder and just moved the maps into their maps folder and it worked (provided you set up the game through the Mods menu). So you could try that.

This is the first time I've made a map mod so if anyone knows what's gone wrong, I'd appreciate if if you cloud explain it to me. I'm still using XP, I don't know if that has anything to do with it?
