Description:

Developed off of the Nideggen II, The Gaede-class features increased carrying capacity as well as improved combat capabilities compared to its predecessor.
The ship makes use of an unorthodox way of carrying vehicles: the vehicles themselves have to latch onto the ship using landing gear, rather than using connectors.
This allows for a more compact design of the hangar, as well as for the vehicles that are to be transported.
Even so, the Gaede is quite a bit larger than the Nideggen II, which hampers it mobility slightly.
It's offensive armament is only slightly better on paper, but the placement of the Gaede's weapons are much more effective than on the Nideggen.
While the Nideggen had to go broadside in order to get most of its guns firing, the Gaede can stay bow-in to any threats while keeping all guns on target.
This way of fighting is made even more effective by the Gaede's armoured bow, which contains decoys to draw enemy fire.

While these advantages truly shine in ship-to-ship engagements, the Gaede's primary role in combat is to provide Anti-Air for fleets or ground forces, as well as assaulting ground targets.
The Gaede can land on and take off from planets with 1.00 G's of gravity while carrying around 1,2 Million kg in materials. This number also includes any vehicles if they are part of the payload.
Much like the Nideggen II, the Gaede makes use of an elevator to (un)load vehicles when on the ground.
The Gaede's hangar can carry up to two vehicles in a pressurised environment, while the elevator can carry an additional two outside of the hangar if need be.
The hangar also has another exit amidships, allowing vehicles to be airdropped rapidly rather than being deployed via the elevator.

Development of the Gaede was started in order to provide non-pirate clients with ships capable of both space and atmospheric flight, while also improving on the existing Nideggen II, which had become outdated.
The class was made in tandem with the E-50 Misha MBT, the E-25 Barsuk LT and the E-20 Borov APC, all of which can be carried by the Gaede-class, although even small craft like the XF-41 Javelin can fit inside the hangar.

Features:

  • Survival Ready: conveyors are all connected, and the ship has starting equipment and fuel.
  • Two rotor turrets with one rocket launcher each.
  • A further nine gatling turrets, two missile turrets and four interior turrets on the outside.
  • Vehicle Hangar and elevator for (un)loading.
  • Hangar and elevator can carry a total of four vehicles.
  • 800 meter turret radar range, as well as a 50 meter sensor radar for boarders and other small craft.
  • Uses a mix of hydrogen, ion and atmospheric thrusters, and has thrusters hidden inside the hull without the need to turn thruster damage off.
  • Limited production capacity: Two assemblers and two basic refineries.
  • Two cryo pods for crewmembers, and a further ten beds for any passengers in the hangar.
  • Cleaned up terminal and hotbars.
  • Can fly in all planetary gravity fields, even with cargo.

Specifications:

  • Blocks - Main Grid: 1,713
  • Blocks - With Subgrids: 1,897
  • PCU - Main Grid: 16,605
  • PCU - With Subgrids: 20,005
  • Mass - Unloaded: 2,738,518 kg
  • Airtight: Hangar and Bridge are, Maintenance is not.

Dimensions:
  • Length: 116.25 Meters.
  • Width: 57.50 Meters.
  • Height: 26,25 Meters.

Usage:
  • Role: Multipurpose, focused on Anti-Air and vehicle transport.
  • Area of Operation: Space, Planets with up to 1,25 g, Planetary gravity up to 0,50 g.

Other:
  • During combat, keep the elevator lowered. Deformation on the bow armour will otherwise lead to Klang taking over and the ship turning uncontrollably. As such, only bring the elevator back up if ALL deformation has been repaired.
  • When leaving a planet's atmosphere, try to keep accelerating even when the speed starts dropping. From around 0.50 g's there will be no more risk of falling back down. Also, the hydrogen thrusters are necessary for leaving a planet's atmosphere.

Author's Notes:

I'll probably release the vehicles mentioned in the description over the next week, as they're all close to being finished with only the toolbars and terminal cleanup remaining.
For a bit of a sneak peek, they're all present in some of the images above, so look forward to them!
Also, I had to publish again because steam wouldn't let me deselect DLC in the required section, causing it to require the Style Pack even though it doesn't even use that.
