[1.0 UPDATE] CSS Louisiana Ironclad

The CSS Louisiana was a Confederate Casemate ramship that was launched on February 6th, 1862 and destroyed by her own crew in April of that same year.

She was driven by 4 engines, 2 to spin the center paddle wheels and 2 to spin the screws (propellers). Armed with 16 guns, this ship would have been a formidable beast if it weren't a complete lame duck. Due to the placement of paddle wheels, only the front wheel was capable of generating thrust and when under full power, the ship was impossible to steer. Despite having 4 engines powering the ship, she was barely able travel against the currents of the Mississippi River. While under repairs near Fort St. Phillip, she was attacked by Union navy ships led by Flag Officer David Farragut. Although the Union cannons were unable to penetrate the Louisiana's Casemate armor, she was unable to escape the attacking fleet and ultimately was scuttled by her crew to avoid capture.

This rendition of the CSS Louisiana is significantly more functional with a top speed of 12 knots. You are able to fire all broadside cannons in succession from the bridge. When cold starting the ship, start the primary boiler before starting the auxiliary boilers.
