About the building
The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Depot Freight House and Train Shed (Milwaukee Road Depot), was constructed from 1897 to 1899, and replaced the original Italianate station that was constructed in 1879. The bottom floor is constructed from Ortonville Pink Granite (the same granite used in many buildings in Minneapolis, including Minneapolis City Hall) and the rest is built from brick. The original station did not have the smoke stack constructed until between 1908 to 1910 (photos in 1908 do not show it, but photos in 1910 do), I have included it as it is an important feature in the Minneapolis skyline. The train station is of significant importance as it is one of only 12 surviving long span open truss roofed train sheds in the United States.

The train station is not as long as it is in reality (575 ft/175 m/22 cells long) because it is just too long for the game. The spire was there originally but was heavily damaged during a storm in 1941 and was removed. It currently does not have a spire and the tower stops after the clock faces. I added the spire, but without too many photos to go on (and it being quite detailed) I decided to simplify it quite a bit. At its peak the Milwaukee Road Depot was operating close to 30 passenger trains each day.

Currently the building has been added to and currently operates as a hotel, with a majority of the station itself acting as an event center. It was added to the National Registry of Historic Places in 1978. It is located at 201 3rd Ave., S Minneapolis, Minnesota and lies along Washington Avenue.

Not sure if you're aware of it, but unless you've given your permission, the developers of "Only Up" have stolen your model of the Milwaukee Station, it can be seen for example in this youtube video at 6:24: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTfyfZ7lEmo&t=383 .

Jaw-dropping, spectacular. With the Souix Falls Courthouse, it's starting to be possible to sprout some classic Richardsonian towers in American styled cities : )
