The baying of the hordes in the distance always chills my heart. Am I out of ammo? If I run, will I make it next door or just get swarmed? How can we move without getting separated? Oh, God... the tortured moans of the undead again. Lord, how I miss home.

About

Romero Mod is a total conversion mutation for Left 4 Dead 2, inspired by George A. Romero's masterpiece zombie films.

The mod has the following goals:

Evoke a feeling of genuine dread
Improve game world immersion
Dramatically change the strategies required to win
Create something fun!

in terms of specifics, changes include:

* Massively increases the number of commons that populate the world
* Zombies are slower, more deliberate, more shambling
* Being hit by a zombie is a bigger deal - escaping from even a small group starts to become a challenge
* Headshots become much more important, though a shotgun at close range can work
* Weapons and pickups are tweaked towards greater realism (including item distribution)
* Gore is turned up
* Pacing is slowed down

As always, playing with humans is recommended for the best experience.
