The Ascent (SinglePlayer/Coop mode stage)

Description
Ascent Mode Stage, similar to Abyss mode! Make sure you have at least 1 CPU player for this stage. Go through waves of challenges: climb, fight enemies, carry an artifact up the level, board platforms and more! The phases are now endless and increase with difficulty over time. Let me know what you think and how far you get! Might continue to add new phase types, as well as a boss at some point.

For the stage graphics, I'm using art assets modified from https://edermunizz.itch.io/pixel-art-plataformer-painted-style!

( Set stock count to 7 to skip to phase 12, Sky Fight phase (unlimited jumps / recovery).)

I did notice a bug where the artifact no longer hurts you / kills you if you don't hit it up the stage, so I might take a look at fixing that at some point.

I was just able to test this and play a few rounds with Orcane and Shovel Knight, and I've also seen youtube vids with various custom characters recently without issues. Were you using a specific custom character or buddy?

If anyone else has issues, let me me know which characters/buddies you used, and if you also tried it with default characters / CPUs, just in case.

Sorry everyone for how long this has been broken, it's updated and fixed now!

I've been busy but finally circled back to look into this again, apparently there was a game update that caused my CPU detection code to think players were CPUs and messed everything up. It's resolved now, just did a quick playthrough and it all works!

ooohhh, now that i look back at it i think get it there as an attempt to fix the stage but apparently it didn't fix it, that's very unfortunate because before the update that roke it this stage used to be really good but ever since the update was made the whole stage became of it being uplayable, i'm sorry but in it's current state i'm gonna unsub on this stage / delete this stage from my copy of the game, i'm sorry you'll probably understand,i will deffinetly still check this page out regularly & when there is said it is fixed, i resub / redownload this though

oh ok, apparently you know this already & i'm only asking this once because i don't wanna annoy with it or anything but you are still working on the fix right?

@eTea.Xanthus this stage used to work but is now broken to the point where you can't play at all because for some reason instead of you being in red team & the others in bleu team everyone is now in bleu team which breaks the stage so badly you can't play it at all, this deffinetly needs a fix or because this bug alone makes the stage unplayable in a completely litheral way (just anna let ya know so you can fix it)

Yeah, still doesn't work unfortunately. :( Even with both CPUs being Maypul, no DLC skins or anything.
