Description
The formoal was a hill with a natural rock outcrop (or sometimes an artificial standing stone or cairn) on a bare hill. These natural monuments were frequently used as places of violence in medieval Ireland and Scotland, and acted as a place where armies would gather before going on campaign and the execution of enemy war-leaders. Due to their use for getting armies ready, they commonly also were the location of medieval battles.

This is a simple terrain board for historical wargaming, encorporating a central formoal hill, a river, and some rough terrtain and forests. No rules or figures were placed, to allow for the board to be used for any game.
