In a rush? Here's a simple list of the steps with as few details as possible!

• Unlock QP, Suguri, Marc & Tomomo.
• After watching the Minions of the Master intro cutscene, defeat Haruo the Chicken, M10 Robot, and Star Devourer on any difficulty.
• Minions of the Master ending unlocks and the related cosmetics are added to the in-game shop.
• Play 10 more co-op games.
• Watch the Master of the Minions intro cutscene and then defeat RoPoChi.
• After watching Master of the Minions Interlude 1, defeat RoPoChi on Extreme difficulty.
• After watching Master of the Minions Interlude 2, Mio's Dark Citadel will be unlocked.
• Once Mio's Dark Citadel is cleared in any difficulty, Mio will be unlocked along with her character and announcer voice packs.
• Optional: beat Mio's Dark Citadel on Extreme to obtain Mio's Flame Dice.
• Play as Mio 5 times in any game mode (if offline doesn't work just try online modes but any mode should work)
• Beat Secret Santa as Mio on Normal difficulty or higher to unlock Mio (Festive)
• Beat Secret Santa as Mio on Extreme difficulty to unlock Christmas Cake Dice

To unlock the Minions of the Master event:

First you need to unlock QP, Suguri, Marc & Tomomo. To do this, you need to beat the Campaign episodes or use "character crates" (Purple square, which can be seen in the screenshot above) to unlock all 4 of these characters.

Alternatively, owning DLC 12 (a.k.a. Starter Character Voice Pack) and DLC 16 (a.k.a. Core Voice Pack 2) will unlock all 4 of these base-game characters automatically, without having to complete their Campaign episodes. These DLCs were removed and added to the base game in the most recent update which added Mio (Festive), so this shortcut no longer works.

Once you have unlocked the last of the 4 characters (the order does not matter but it will probably be Tomomo) you will then need to play 1 online game in normal mode or co-op. After completing that game, the "Minions of the Master - Start" cutscene will play upon returning to the main menu, and it will unlock it in the gallery as well.

Important: This entire guide will require you to look for and/or watch these cutscenes in the gallery. To get there from the Main Menu, the pathway is Player Info -> Gallery -> Cutscenes.

Now that you have watched and acquired the "Minions of the Master - Start" cutscene, you are ready to begin.

You need to play co-op mode for this entire event. You can play online with friends which gets you more EXP for your roles, or you can do them offline and use the fast-forward function to complete this part quickly.
Either way you choose, the objective is simply to defeat these 3 co-op bosses on any difficulty. Big the Haruo, M10 Robot, and Star Devourer.

After defeating these 3 bosses (the order does not matter), returning to the main menu will trigger another cutscene, the "Minions of the Master - Cleared" cutscene, which will also be added to your gallery. (If the cutscene did not play after you returned to the main menu, check the gallery in case you have it already)

Once you have viewed that cutscene, all of the Minions of the Master cosmetics will be unlocked in the in-game shop and no longer say "coming soon"

Minions of the Master cosmetics:
Homemarks: Angel marker, Devil marker, Cave marker, Castle marker
Pets: Golden Egg pet, M10 Eye pet, Elusive Star pet
Accessories: RPG Costumes for QP, Suguri, Marc, and Natsumi

Important: You must complete the entire Minions of the Master event before you start this one!
More importantly: The co-op games you played before this point will not go towards the first step in this event -- Fresh start!

Step 1: To begin this event and to get the "Master of the Minions - Start" cutscene, you will need to play 10 more co-op games on any difficulty. It does not matter if you win or lose these 10 games and once again you can do these online or offline, your choice. After playing 10 games, returning to the main menu will trigger this first cutscene and unlock it in the gallery.


Step 2: Defeat RoPoChi on any difficulty (in co-op). Online or offline. After defeating RoPoChi, you will see the second cutscene called "Master of the Minions - Interlude 1" upon returning to the main menu. Once again, it should be added to your gallery.


Step 3: Defeat RoPoChi again but this time on Extreme difficulty. (Don't skip step 2) For this one I usually recommend playing online co-op. You can create a party in online co-op and name it "RoPoChi Extreme" or something like that, random people will most likely join to help depending on how many players are online at the time.

Another option pointed out by CommodoreEvac: "you can indeed beat RoPoChi on Extreme with the AI, you just need to rig some things at the prep screen. As part of an earlier update, you can select AI characters in custom games. In Co-Op, the game only chooses a character's best class options. If you choose an AI character and they weren't assigned the class you want, reselect them until they change to the class you do want."
So basically just pick a well balanced team such as Attacker, Avenger, Guardian, and Support, and then just play normally, taking care of the minions to avoid the constant strain of being low on stars.


After defeating RoPoChi on Extreme difficulty, returning to the menu will play the third cutscene called "Master of the Minions - Interlude 2", and add it to you gallery.

☆This will also unlock "Mio's Dark Citadel", a Campaign mission in the "Extra" episodes.

☆If you beat RoPoChi on Hyper difficulty you will receive RoPoChi Dice

Step 4: Beat Mio's Dark Citadel on any difficulty. Mio's Dark Citadel is only playable in Singleplayer because it is a campaign mission, (in the "Extra" section).

You did it!

☆ Beating Mio's Dark Citadel on any difficulty will unlock Mio, her voice pack, and the Dark Citadel board immediately with no need to be purchased from the shop!
☆ Beating Mio's Dark Citadel on Extreme difficulty will unlock Mio's Flame Dice.

Return to the main menu and (you guessed it) another cutscene will play! This is the "Master of the Minions - Cleared" cutscene and it will also be added to the gallery.


Once you have viewed that final cutscene cutscene, all of the Master of the Minions cosmetics will be unlocked in the in-game shop!

Master of the Minions cosmetics:
Homemark: Dark Citadel marker
Dice: Dark Citadel dice
Pet: RoPoChi pet
Accessories: RPG Costumes for Poppo, Kai, and Tomomo

After you have unlocked Mio, just play as her in any game mode (probably) for 5 games, and that should unlock the single player episode called "Secret Santa" in the Extras section. If you tried 5 matches in offline modes and did not unlock Secret Santa, just try in online modes instead. Personally I already had well over 5 matches played as Mio before the Mio (Festive) update but people have told me "5 matches in any mode" should work.

After you've unlocked Secret Santa you just gotta beat it with Mio on Normal or higher to unlock Mio (Festive), and if you can beat it on Extreme you will also unlock her Christmas Cake Dice.

‣ These are base-game events now, and can be done at any point in time.

‣ Everything must be done in order, one cutscene at a time.

‣ How to fast-forward (offline only): Hold CTRL for x2 game speed, hold Shift for x3 game speed, hold both for x5 game speed.

‣ The RPG costumes can be found in the "Hats" tab after being purchased from the shop.

‣ The requirement to unlock Mio used to be to beat RoPoChi on Hyper difficulty. The recent update (version 3.8, 26/8/2021) to co-op has changed this to "Extreme" instead.
