Vanilla Maps - REMASTERED
15 items
Description
Welcome to Foggy Hills

This map is a complete overhaul of the base-game map, Foggy Hills. The old map came with the game purchase, but I was never intrigued by the vanilla maps, so I decided to remaster every single one.

This map requires Mass Transit because I honestly dislike having a 3-lane highway running through desolate regions...
I will not make a DLC-free version, sorry folks =(
Get Mass Transit anyways, you're missing out!

Some Info

This map, oh boy, this map was a lot of work. This was also at the top of the priority list of remakes. After I cleared all of the transportation infrastructure, leveled all of the crazy hills and mountains, I was left with basically a clean slate with basically just the water bodies left. It took me a good bit to draw some inspiration to what we see today. I am satisfied with the result. I tried to leave some resemblance of the old map to help give some perspective of how much it has changed, and I usually do that by leaving the bodies of water. in addition, the roads and railways are in similar routes to their old ones.

There are quite a few trees on this map, 220,000 to be exact, out of the 250,000 limit. Therefore, there are plenty of forests for logging industries, and/or nature reserves.
The other industry resources are relatively balanced, with a slight favoritism to the oil and ore resources.

[NOTES:]

This map can be played with the 25 vanilla tiles, but can also be played with all 81 map tiles. All of the industry resources are located within the 25 tile region. Except for a few areas, the outer tiles aren't favorable for expansive development, but rather small towns and villages.

To BonBonB, if you're reading this buddy, you'll have to excuse those arrows merging on the highways. I am with you on that front, but with this being a completely vanilla map, it is intended for vanilla players and play-styles. Henceforth, the highway ramps will have arrows to help with the merging traffic, as it is an issue among many players.

To the players, I have tested this map like I have all others. There are no traffic, bulldozing, and building issues. There are a few custom placed pillars at the intersection with the rail line running under it. YOU WILL HAVE TO BULLDOZE THE PILLARS SEPARATELY. It may be annoying yes, but the presentation looks better for me, since I am an engineer by trade. I study and work on these structures.

Nice map and starts definitely different, there however is just too much traffic on the highway for it to be 2 lanes, if it was 3 lanes across the middle it might be better suited

It does not replace the original. Be sure to have the map enabled in the Content Manager tab. These maps are named after the original files.

Does this replace the original map? Cause I can't see the map separately after subbing.
