Description
Another large level, this time with (hopefully) more difficulty.

Also full of Hammer work, despite still being a BEEMod/PeTI map (no, I did not export the map to Hammer!). I am very proud of the results.

This map was easier before large chunks of it were smashed or buried under debris and foliage. :P

The correct solution to this map does NOT involve "cheaty" moves like cube throwing, jumping on cubes, fast timing, portal bumping, grabbing things around walls, or spamming inputs to a button! Nor is it finicky like super tight laser angles, relying on chance, or perfect placement of cubes.

If you are having an issue with this map, like a piece missing or a test element not obeying its inputs, tell me; this has several times appeared out of nowhere on the already-uploaded-and-tested map and I need to figure out what the hell is going on.

Indeed, and to such a point that people are - wrongly, but still commonly - calling QOL "that crappy plant package for dressing up crappy maps" and in some cases even insult Baguettery over it.

Ah thats a shame, but I can understand that, I've definitely seen about a million overgrown chambers that spam QOL items without actually trying to make them work, or even look good.

OK, that is an issue I have never seen happen before, and I have absolutely no idea what might cause it.

And no, I do not plan on releasing these items; most of them are tailor-made for their specific use cases, and cannot be just plopped into any map. On top of that, after seeing what happened with the QOL package, I am not really confident it would not just be spammed into 10000 gimmick chambers.

You made them? Thats seriously cool! Do you plan on uploading them?

As for the visual bug I was talking about, no, its not a nodraw effect. Its as I said, the model of the Portal Gun duplicates and attaches to the front of the other one. https://imgur.com/a/YYtPooc

I made them in Hammer, as custom items. Basically, I have my own package, mostly consisting of setpieces like the ones in this map, Redshift, and my other recent (post Apr 2020) maps. https://i.imgur.com/iaz7a33.png

As for the "visual effect", do you mean the smearing that nodraw causes ( https://i.imgur.com/JEr2Sy6.mp4 )? That can indicate a leak, but this map had no leaks when I uploaded it, nor has anyone else had issues.

When I loaded into the map, the Portal gun duplicates itself, and creates a weird visual effect. Also you say you made this with BEE? If you don't mind me asking, where did you get some of these pieces? Theres a ton here that I've never seen with any BEE package

I am aware of the issue where the impact can dislodge the cube from the button; I was not able to find a solution, and since it usually does not happen (for a well-placed cube, at least) I deemed it not worth further effort.

The intended solution is listed as the first media embed; how similar is your solution (it will be a while before I can watch a 34 minute video)?

At any rate, I am glad you liked it; this puzzle was certainly one of my most complicated and most labor-intensive. :P

As for which of my maps I would recommend, as a general rule, the more recent the better, though there are exceptions (I have a few from 2017 (Forgotten Artifact, for example) that are as good as many of my 2018+ ones, for example, and I remain quite satisfied with Recursion, one of my very first from 2015).

If you want me to sit down and make a ranked list, I can do that.

Man I thought that was awesome! Very weird & out of the ordinary, but in a good way. Had me scratching my head at every step & looking closely around the chamber. Maybe a little bit convoluted. I've only done the 1st chamber so far cause my brain was burnt, I was surprised there was a 2nd one. One annoyance was I kept stepping on the springboard accidentally cause it's covered by plants. Maybe if it were further back out of the way instead of in the path of the button. Another thing, when you fling across sometimes it shakes so much that it shakes the cube off the button, causing you to start the process over. I'll eventually revisit it for the 2nd chamber & I'll definitely check your other maps out, maybe you can let me know which ones you're most proud of. Thanks for mapping.

Here is my blind playthrough. It felt right

Not quite as intended in the second room, but it might be easier to fix than some other shortcuts.

Here is my take on it
