Covert Escape Revamp

Description
Adds more enemies and a group of allies to make things interesting.

With certain mods enabled, you might find that Covert Escape missions have become too easy. This mod adds more enemies to Covert Escape missions, and a group of Resistance Allies nearby the Evac point. (After all, your soldiers were "on a mission" with your Resistance faction allies).

The resistance allies will defend the Evac zone to make sure it is clear of any Advent or Lost.


100% safe to enable or disable at any time. If you are mid-mission, changes will not take effect until the mission is over. This mod will not work alongside any other mods that directly modify "Covert_D3_Escape" mission schedule.

Just finished a campaign with about 685 mods, this one included, and had no major issues! Thanks for putting this up.

Covert escapes are ambushes that can occur when you send your soldiers on a covert action. It can occur any time a covert action has a risk of ambush by the Chosen.

Could you inform me what is the "Covert Escape" mission? I'm not sure what mission this mod changes. Is this one of those tutorial missions that I have forgotten about?

That's a good idea. I haven't figured out how to create new missions just yet, but I will keep that in mind.

Really enjoying the mods you are creating! They are adding freshness to the game! I like the suggestion from @nelVlesis for additional variety.

Other ideas/suggestions for adding mission variety... Rescue Operative could use a new look/take. Very repetitive.

With your Mission Mania mod (love that one too!), would be great if additional missions were available. The Faceless mission from LW2 added some variety from the routine missions.

Anyway, fantastic job with your mods! Keep up the great work.

Any chance to make this instead of changing existing covert missions, to add another alternate mission so we have more variety and keep both?

Awesome, definitely bothered me that ambush missions only ever show your XCOM units getting ambushed, as if you didn't get those missions from the resistance factions in the first place.

This mod only affects the enemy list for this mission - not the mission type "Covert Escape". If another mod uses the "Covert Escape" mission type, it will have it's own schedule and should not conflict with this mod.

I believe the just replace the units themselves and I believe some small edits to pods. It was the complete replacement of the entire alien/advent/lost/chosen roster that made me worry if this mod would be compatible.

Does mods that add addition missions based on/uses the covert escape mission type work with this as well or would I expect them to be increasingly difficult too?
