(Are you on XBox and want to check out this ship? It's XBox ready![spaceengineers.mod.io])

Dimensions: 23 (57.5m) x 31 (77.5M) x 6 (15m)

United Workers' Union Aerospace proudly presents its flagship frigate to the people! The UAS Bastet is a ship designed to handle just about any task thrown at her. Between its 1.5 kiloton surface-to-space lift capacity, its twin jump drives, and its full suite of weaponry, decoys and auto-repair systems, the Bastet is equally at home performing acquisition, repair, hauling, or even light combat missions.

No platinum? No problem.
The Bastet is powered entirely by hydrogen in space, and not a single ingot of platinum or uranium is required to construct it. With feet planted firmly on Terran soil, this ship can still conquer the stars.

Bring a comrade or two!
This frigate is designed for and tested around cooperative engineering. The main bridge features a captain's seat and a first engineer's seat, with more seating available nearby. Beds and cryochambers also make it an excellent spot to take a breather during those longer missions, and a full Medical Room means you spend less time recharging while on the go.

Explore the universe!
The Bastet has been tested extensively in multiple environments, from home sweet home on Earth to the cold void of space, and even to the strange and slimy shores of the Alien Planet. No matter where your base, this frigate can get you and your cargo off the ground and back again!

Features:
  • 6 gatling turrets and 2 fixed missile launchers, plus 2 decoys in the nose and 5 welders to keep everything topped up make sure you can come out on top in most engagements and protect smaller ships from drones. Strategic heavy armor placement is used to reinforce key areas and the top side of the ship while keeping weight down.
  • Timer block-based modes allow you to quickly go from normal flight to combat readiness and back again with the press of a button. No need to fumble with controls when something is bearing down on you!
  • Hydrogen thrusters and 6 gyroscopes provide excellent maneuverability and acceleration, even loaded. In atmosphere, 4 large atmospheric thrusters provide lift in conjunction with a large downward hydrogen thruster.
  • 60ML hydrogen capacity (4 large tanks) and 9 batteries backed up by 4 hydrogen engines keep you ready to go and allow multiple trips to and from space on a single load of fuel. 10 onboard O2/H2 generators are available refill the tanks from available ice sources, extending the ship's range even more.
  • 2 jump drives, each fully rechargeable in under ten minutes on hydrogen alone, or max speed on battery.
  • 2 large cargo containers main storage. Bring home 2,280kt of any ore! Need to stay out longer? A full industrial suite of 2 refineries and 1 assembler is aboard, with 4 modules (yield for refineries, speed for assembler) each.
  • Convenient in-cabin and external cargo access points plus dorsal and chin connectors.
  • Rated surface-to-space grid mass is 2,700t up to 1.1G (approximately 1,500t cargo). It can lift even more in-atmosphere, tested to 3,300t in 1.0G.
  • 3 emergency parachutes ensure you can regain control during descent to avoid becoming an expensive pancake, plus a fully walkable interior, ground-accessible connector and boarding ladders allow jetpack-free use and maintenance.

Construction:
This ship was designed to be able to be built entirely on planet, without the need for uranium for reactor fuel or thruster components, but is best built in stages. The core of the design philosophy is that the ship can provide incremental value that just keeps escalating as you add more to it.

Once the refineries are available, the ship can help build itself. Heavy armor can be filled solely with steel plate to provide plenty of protection until excess metal grids are available.

Jump drives are integrated into the design, but can be left unfinished until large sources of gold are found. This means the ship can be built early and get you to space quickly.

Found some uranium? Check out the Reactor Upgrade Module for an easy upgrade to nuclear power!

Help! I built this but my hotbars are all squares!
Not to worry! The hotbar setup guide has the flight seats and timer block hotbar settings used in this blueprint.

What about DLC/scripts?
Both scripts and DLC are entirely optional. If you want a pre-constructed version with no DLC blocks or installed scripts, please see the UAS Bastet - No Script/No DLC version which contains neither DLC blocks or script blocks and has a heavily reduced PCU cost.

If you can run scripts, then this ship contains 4 programmable blocks that come pre-loaded with:
Automatic LCDs 2
Simple cruise control (triple press disabled, use hotbar controls)
Isy's Inventory Manager
Whip's Auto Door and Airlock Script

No script above is flight-critical, so change or removal of any or all is possible.

Warning: All programmable blocks are disabled in the blueprint. Enable before flight.

Flight:
The ship has excellent maneuverability in general, with the ability to use only vertical thrust (spacebar to orbit) to get to space when lightly loaded. When fully loaded (2.7kt grid mass), it will require an angled ascent using both the bottom and rear thrust to push past about 10,000m altitude, followed by a slow pitch up to vertical to get out of the gravity well.

When in combat, try to take hits to the heavily armored sides and top of your nose instead of facing directly at the enemy and let your turrets work them over. Try to keep the enemy to your front/top in general, as most armor is there. If you can safely do it, get some shots in with your rocket launchers. The rocket launchers are also excellent for first strikes or sniping turrets in Mayday signals!

Credits/inspiration:
This ship owes some of its designs to two other beautiful and functional ships. The thruster layout and general tank layout was inspired by the Cephus X-500 Raliket and the nose layout with the rocket launchers + heavily armored decoys and mode blocks was inspired by the [VF2M] Hammer. Many thanks to fkotsuka and others who have made suggestions to improve this ship.

Feedback:
If you like this ship, please rate it! This helps other people find it and lets me know if I'm releasing good content. If you have any feedback, questions, or just want to let me know what you think, leave a comment! I'm always on the lookout for new optimizations to the design, so if you make any modifications that you think would benefit others, post them here so we can all see it.

Just build it in Survival on Earth-Like. And man, what a feeling of an achievement! Absolutely a beautiful yet functional ship. Keep up the good work!

Found your beautiful ship but I can't seem to get the LCDs or the Inventory scripts to work. When I go into the prog blocks and run them they don't work. When I go in to Edit and Check Code there are errors. It looks like the versions in the prog blocks are maybe out of date but when I install the current version of those scripts they don't work. Not sure what I'm missing here. Love the ship but the LCD wall was part of the reason I grabbed it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for all your work. :-)

One of the best ships of all time. I still don't understand why it's not in the top 10 ships.

The tires don't deform when shot, so they protect from fire damaging blocks behind the tire if the armor over the tire is damaged. The landing gear does not retract, that's why it's set into the belly.

So I am wondering what the tires are for and if it has anything to do with the landing gear? IF it allows the landing gear to retract, I can not figure out how to make it work. Please any advice would be appreciated. Thank You

Nice ship. Solid mobile base for a midsized civilian craft.

I tried adding a remote but it didn't work with the control seat set to Main Cockpit so I think I forgot to put it back in. Whoops. Thanks for the info on AutoLCD too.

You can replace the light armor block directly aft of the Air Vent on the bridge with either a Remote Control or an additional PB and have it remain sealed, and you can replace the 2 Interior Plate blocks behind the head with a Remote Control as you said, but the PB can go directly behind it between the LCD and the Remote - that still is sealed then, no need to put it in the back.

So I like what you did with the new version, although I'd have liked it better if you stuck a remote & extra PB in :P
At least there is still space for them without too much trouble (remote still behind the head and the PB on top of the large h2 thruster).
Oh, and your LCD is 2 versions behind (v:2.0178 is current)

Thanks! I'm working on a new version that has a fully walkable rear engineering area and is able to be traversed with no jetpack - keep an eye out for it!

Really nice ship. Nice shape, nice looking, nice paint job. The sparse-but-effective interior, the upper bunks, the battered armor, all give a good long-hauler feel to it. I like the wrap-around airlocks, which are a simple but interesting and effective variation. Very compact but provides full functionality. Nice fields of fire provide comprehensive coverage with only a few turrets. Nice upper flight deck and the dorsal "beams" give a really good look. I thought the innards were inaccessible until I realised you can sneak up beside the upward large H2. Very impressive.
