Empire of the Phoenix King

Description
This mod aims to adress, as a supplement to my Sons of Asuryan mod, adding content for the Domains of Ancient Elfenfolk from the Mystic Ysle aka the Asur abroad.

SFO Submod : https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2174989627

This first version introduces my version of the Sea Lord Aislinn, master of the Elven Sea Patrol and Herald of Mathlann !

Originally posted by Loremaster:
"The sea around the ships churned with blood as sea wyrms tore at hideous monsters loosed from the bowels of the black ark, and purple lightning set the water ablaze with magical fire. Elven warriors fought in the leaping shadows of the flames, and Finlain saw the magnificent form of Lord Aislin as he swept the curved blade of his ithilmar sword through the Corsairs attempting to capture his vessel."

Aislinn

The Sea Lord himself comes as an hybrid lord (melee/missile/caster) and a Horde character with his own custom :
  • Model (thanks to the great Willemsen for the unique helmet)
  • Skills tree reflecting his lore
  • Lore of Mist from Storm of Chaos
  • Mounts with a Swiftfeather Roc and a Sea Dragon
Full buildings tree reflecting both Navy / Sea Patrol lore and Man’O’War rules with special army abilities.

A custom navy roster with no cavalry but monsters instead :
  • Vanilla Lothern Sea Guards units and Eagle Bolt Throwers
  • Ship’s Companies are the elven ships crew, fighting with sword and shield
  • Sea Rangers are the navy equivalent of Shadow Warriors
  • Ithiltaen Marines are an elite infantry unit composed of Ulthuan nobles
  • White Lions
  • War Eagle Riders
  • Living Prometheans
  • Sea Dragons, a ground version of Ulthuan dragons, a bit more tanky to stay in melee
  • Sun Dragons
A new hero also comes with it as the Dragonship Officer, a dual sword melee specialist.

As the new DLC drops, Aislinn will be available in the lord pool for Tyrion, Teclis, Alith, Eltharion and Imrik. He will later get his own faction and background.

Long term plans of this mod will be to unlock and flesh out HE subfactions as Fortresses of Dusk and Dawn, Teclis and more.

Thanks
  • Willemsen for his awesome model !
  • HN for Aislinn heraldic
  • ChaosRobie for bringing the Merwyrm model to life
  • Shawmuscle for the custom axe model
  • ScribeUnited for Aislinn's custom sword model and ColdWinter for the texturing

Xoudad would you have any issue with me porting this over to WH3. i dont have any desire for credit of any kind so it would be reposted if made public as you have it here. i want to play it andi wanted to learn how you did it. I also used this as my first mod creating experiment. stuck on texture dds conversions though.

I'm aware of what Lothern Sea Guard looked like on TT (i owned a box of them almost 20 years ago), that doesn't make it any more logical in my mind. But Lothern Sea Guard were also a ground force. If you look at the Deepkin (who in AoS stole most of the High Elves sea based themes) they're very lightly armoured - generally - which tends to make more sense for a mariner. Ultimately it's just a suggestion, if he feels Lore (and simplicity given it's already mostly done other than redoing textures for Wh3) trump logic in this regard I'm not against it either.

@Kami
Look up Lothern Sea Guard and Lothern Sea Helms.

Just a thought, when you (hopefully) port it to WH3 at some point, any chance the marines could be given lighter armour? Realistically wearing that much plate on a boat sounds like a losing proposition. Something more like what the High Elf Rangers wear in terms of armour, maybe with a bit of a mashup, seems more appropriate. Same goes for the sea rangers, maybe something even akin to what the shadow walkers wear would be more fitting.

Just thoughts anyway, it's an amazing mod I just always felt the armour seemed a bit hefty for marines.

Hey! Yes because he’s available to coastal faction, but he’s gonna have his own faction in Game 3 :)
