The Psychopath's Guide to Nuking
By Kalmia
So, you're wondering what is the point of this? What is the point of working for some lazy slob we call Mission Control? Well, I shall explain it to you as simply as possible.

Nukes!

Now why nukes you might ask? They are your key to survival, to wipe out the bug filth from Hoxxes. Though you might complain and say the ammo taken away from using Fatboy is too much, well Greenbeard shush up!

With this Overclock it is your job to wipe out the Swarms, to take the glory from your Dwarven teammates, to kill that massive clump of Glyphids, and to show Science reigns supreme!

Let's dive in shall we brothers and sisters?

Base Fatboy

The Fatboy even without Gear Modifications slotted in is still powerful to wipe full swarms in just a single shell. Though, you don't gain much in terms of usefulness or variety. After those shells are gone, you're in a rough spot friend.

Easy Tips.
  • Not much ammo, so pick the biggest Swarms you see.
  • If no giant swarms, pick the biggest target there is. Combine radiation and your bullets!
Utility Fatboy
Thunk! Thunk! Thunk!

Now this here is the one I use the most due to the simple fact of utility.

If you're a smart Dwarf you will have already mastered the art of picking your targets! With this you won't have to give a damn about messing up a shot cause you got plenty more in your bag.

Here are a few things I suggest with this.

  • Focus on swarms of Grunts, Slashers, Guards, and Praetorians.
  • Black Box, Uplink, Fuel Cells, or Point Extract you can lock down entire areas with the radiation.
  • If the radiation/explosion doesn't kill most bugs then with their armor now gone your allies or you can easily finish them off.
Incendiary Fatboy
Glass the planet!

So, with this you're going to swap out more ammo, for more radius. The entire purpose of this variation is for maximum assurance that those disgusting bugs stay dead with radiation AND fire! However, you do still have that extra bit of ammo from the first modification.

Tips for the Incendiary Variation.

  • Be a bit more careful with your shots, as both the radiation + fire can quickly drop your fellow Dwarves.
  • With the added radius you do not have to worry about placement of the shell all too much.
  • Always remember, this is for science. Your health and well being with this is not guaranteed!

The Forbidden Science
There's. Nothing. There. Gordon.

Now I must say our time together has been short my fellow Dwarven brothers and sisters. This is what happens when you tap into the dark. Prepare for unforeseen consequences.

Tips for this abomination.
  • Nothing survives, fire away.
  • Your fellow dwarves will "thank" you, remember this.
  • Your ammo does not exist.
We're Friendly You Leaf Lover!
Remember friends! A living Dwarf is a happy one!

Short and sweet this time lovelies!

You take 50% less damage from allies and deal 50% less damage to allies. So your worries of dropping your teammates are sorta over! Remember, the radiation and likely fire can still do a hefty chunk of damage so be wary of misplaced shells.
Final Notes
This little guide was to show that Fatboy is your best friend, next to drinking away your sorrows at the Abyss Bar, or sobbing at the constantly delayed bacon shuttles.

It is also to give an insight on how myself, a psychopathic Fatboy Scientist(Engineer) builds around the Fatboy for maximum purging.

So come join the Science Team!

Hello Gordon!

run proximity fuze for added fun. Either you try to fire over a crowd but the fuze kicks 4 inches from your face, and gives you the spicy air treatment or you see a juicy crowd to shoot only to watch the grenade bounce off the wall and fall towards your unsuspecting teamates.

Best use for Fatboi is dislodging Scout's carcass from High platform deathspots to be revived on the cave floor.
"Hold still Scout, this might sting a little..."

Yeah for nuke PGL I dropped the shock chance stubby. It's just too weak on it's own to justify using with a low-ammo power weapon like the fat boy. Cheers!

Well usually I'd suggest bringing a Warthog as usually with Fatboy in the higher difficulties at least a few bugs COULD survive the explosion. However, it is very rare they survive and with Warthog, I'd suggest using Magnetic Pellet Alignment as you can quite literally pop any surviving Trash Glyphids.

For Stubby, if you'd want to use it. Go with EM Refire + Full Electricity, as with that you could control the surviving Glyphids to die in the radiation or electrocute a bunch of Glyphids then nuke them for maximum DEATH.

But me personally because I have so much time/know what to do/how to use Engineer. I usually use Cycle Overload with Warthog as I enjoy limiting myself and doing LOTS of damage. So really if you wanna be more utility focused go with the options above and tweak them how you see fit. Or, if you'd want go full psycho.

What kind of primaries would you recommend with these fatbois? Right now I'm attempting to rock an ammo-efficient electrocution based stubby

For just 1 overclock, you can unlock the Super Player Feature, where this weapon will complete fights with glyphids for you.
