Description
7 slot mid-game destroyer. $2m credits, 35k iron, and 187k trinium to construct. Crews a minimum of 48 engineers and 49 mechanics.

52k hull HP and 159k shield HP.
104m/s^2 acceleration, 102m/s^2 deceleration, and 805m/s maximum velocity.
0.51 yaw, .52 pitch, and .77 roll rad/s.
10 torpedo launchers (maximum number you can operate). 246 torpedo storage.
Hyperspace reach of 12 sectors. 28 GW generated energy surplus.

Big enough difference from the original hull that I didn't want to update the previous workshop entry. The internals are completely re-balanced. Nacelle pylons are re-positioned and the nacelles themselves have been redesigned for better performance, and has something to like from just about every Star Trek warp engine style produced. Big shiny bussard collectors, taller, slimmer, more jet-engine-ish, etc.

Based on an unnecessary personal classification that a trinium destroyer should have ~150k shield HP and have 7-8 system upgrade slots. Easily identified as a military vessel by the red stripes and yellow hull pips.

Play tested on a Veteran difficulty galaxy. I completed every Xsotan artifact mission and crossed the barrier with this ship. Boss Swoks and the AI lack the firepower to overwhelm the shields. With a few shield mods, this ship easily fended off the Four. The MAD Science lab was not fast enough to enter into lightning cannon range and lacked the point defense to fend off multiple torpedo barrages. The addition of a few good hyperspace range mods makes quick work of Operation Exodus. The Challenger even has enough cargo capacity for the shopping list you'll have to complete to deal with Bottan the smuggler.
