This addon, is basically the same Prop Hunt you've ever played before. It is only a binding between tyrantelf's fretta-like map vote[github.com] and the original Prop Hunt gamemode.


I made this Prop Hunt in order to 'fix' a very annoying problem whenever you're hosting your Garry's Mod server and use the WorkShop content download instead of a FastDL, whenever a mapvote would be called, in the case if nobody votes for a gamemode, the server would freeze/crash because of a lua error. So instead of using the 'fretta' mapvote system included in the server files, it uses another one, similar to 'fretta'. I made it to work as well with the ULX admin mod, so whenever you call a mapvote using the F1 menu, it will do the same as typing the ULX command: '!votemap'.


If you wish to host this gamemode, your server needs to have ULX admin mod, and ULIB. You can download both of them at: Ulysses - ULX and ULIB Download Page[ulyssesmod.net]


Implying that you're using a WorkShop collection for your server:
After you subscribed/added this addon to your server's collection, in the .bat file that launches your server, add the following parameter: +gamemode prop_hunt Then just start up your sever, and it should be running Prop Hunt.

Implying that you decompressed the .gma file and using this gamemode for FastDL:
It's basically the same procedure than when you use WorkShop... Just add/change the +gamemode parameter in the console/.bat file of your server, to prop_hunt...

ALSO, for both ways, you need to go to: /YOUR_SERVER_FOLDER/garrysmod/gamemodes/ and delete the 'fretta' folder... The fretta folder is already included in my addon, and it is required for you to delete the one that came when you just downloaded your Dedicated Server... In this way, my addon will not override with the 'fretta' mapvote system...

FAQ:

In my mapvote system, there is no maps/there is only TTT maps. How do I fix it?

This has been asked a lot to me. I might have forgot to say it before... Now, to fix this, (if you ever run up into this...) the mapvote system is set up to run in a TTT server, but don't worry, you can make it work on your Prop Hunt server...
Inside your server folder, in: /YOUR_SERVER_FOLDER/garrysmod/data/mapvote/ there is a file called config.txt
In there you will find the configuration of your mapvote system. In here, you might find a line which says: "MapPrefixes":{"1":"ttt_"} Now this, is what you need to change, (if the maps you want to use, use the ph_ prefix, you need to change ttt_ for ph_... If you wish to add more prefixes, after the 1st prefix, add: ,"2":"[your_prefix]_" before the {...

Known 'Issues'

I've noticed some people are having trouble setting up the mapvote to work with ph_ maps... Now, I'm not really sure why does the config file under the /data/mapvote folder makes the map prefix to be ttt_... Just follow the instructions above to 'fix' it... I'm not gonna go ahead and 'fix' this myself, since it's not really an issue, nor a bug. If it ever happens to be an issue that breaks the mapvote system, then I'll fix it...

Also, some people have found a lua error in the Hunter Player Class, basically this would not affect your gameplay at all, nor your server. Just ignore that error. I'm totally aware of it, and not planning to fix it... I personally run a server with this same Prop Hunt, and never seen this lua 'error' to affect the gameplay.
