Four days ago, after a six-month trip from Earth, the six-man crew of Expedition One touched down on the Martian surface in the Mars Descent Vehicle. After basic equipment and the two main vehicles were retrieved from their nearby landing sites, the crew is now ready to begin their five-year long mission on the planet in earnest. You begin as Roger Nicholls, commander of the mission, after just waking up in his quarters at the start of the day.
