Introduction:

Achievement Breakdown: (51)
Story Related: (12)
Secondary Objectives: (13)
Character: (3)
Collectibles: (5)
Slay: (6)
Captains & Warchiefs: (9)
Miscellaneous: (3)

The Achievement Breakdowns for the two DLCs will be listed in the Sequences they are covered in.*

For 100%, we only need to complete a single full playthrough of the game finishing all available Side Quests, Weapon Upgrade Quests, finding all Collectibles, as well as completing some specific “Slay Achievements” regarding Uruk Captains & Warchiefs.

No Achievement is missable, though some will require a bit of set up & luck depending on the Strengths/Weakness your currently available Uruks have. For some of these Achievements, completing them during certain Missions can make earning them a lot easier to do than attempting them in free roam…

In Shadow of Mordor, we earn Xp to purchase Abilities. Some Missions will only become available after we purchase specific Abilities; the locked Mission will tell you what you need when you select it. There are 5 different Tiers of Abilities that we gain access to by earning Power; this is entirely different from Xp. We earn Xp by doing most things in the game while earning Power is specifically tied to killing Uruk Captains & completing Uruk Missions.

There are 21 DLC's available for Shadow of Mordor, however only the two (Lord of the Hunt & Bright Lord) have Achievements associated with them. All other DLC packs are optional & not required for 100%.

For those interested, here is an organized list of all the Achievements/Secret Achievements. This is how I derive my Achievement Breakdowns & the first reference I create before I begin my 100% journeys.

This guide contains major spoilers*.
Sequence 1: Banished From Death
1. Udûn: Udûn Foothills, The Black Gate
2. Main Missions: Prologue
3. Acharn Legend Missions: 1/10
4. Survival Challenges: 6/10
5. Hunting Challenges: 1/10
6. Forge Towers: 1/11
7. Ithildin Runes: 2/32
8. Artifacts: 4/42
9. Achievements: 6/74
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Due to this game being highly free roam heavy as well as being opportunistic regarding Uruk Captains, there is a chance that you may earn Achievements sooner or later than listed in the guide.*

The Black Gate:

Main Mission #1 – Prologue: The game will begin with us at our post on the Black Gate before it is attacked by the Black Hand & his Uruks; this serves as a gameplay Tutorial & has no Achievements.

Udûn – Udûn Foothills:

Forge Tower #1: Story Related. As part of the story when we regain control of Talion in Udûn, we will have reforge our first Forge Tower. These will reveal regions & Collectibles on our Map & are worth locating right away!

Achievement #1 – You Will Obey: Make an Uruk yours.
Story Related. Drop down off of the Forge Tower & we will be attacked by a small group of Uruks. Defeat them, & we will recieve a Tutorial for how to Interrogate; gain Intel from the Uruk, & we will unlock this Achievement.

Survival Challenge #1: Before we go off & begin completing Main Missions, there is a bunch of stuff we can do while we free roam in Udûn. Of these are Survival Challenges. For the first Challenge, we need to find & collect 2 Niphredil; these appear as white flowers on our Mini-Map. These can easily be found throughout the Udûn Foothills & in most regions of Udûn…

You can respawn Herbs by Fast Traveling or Advancing Time at a Forge Tower; if you find an easily collected Herb near a Forge Tower, keep Fast Travelling to it collecting the Herb to quickly farm the Challenge.

Achievement #2 – Scout of Morannon: Successfully complete a Survivalist Challenge.
When you use a Forge Tower & unveil a region, it will list all the Herbs that can be found in it on our main Map. Complete the first Survival Challenge to unlock this Achievement.

Hunting Challenge #1: For our first Hunting Challenge, we need to kill 3 Ungol Spiders. These can be very easily found immediately below the Forge Tower here in the Udûn Foothills. Fast Travel to the Tower, then search around its base to find 1-2 Spiders; they are best killed using our Bow or just by running over them.

Ithildin Rune #1 – Edwenno o gwath: We can find our first Ithildin Rune here in the Udûn Foothills; we need to be in the Wraith World to be able to collect them.

Artifact #1 – Strange Rock: We can also find our first Artifact here as well; these also must be collected in Wraith World. After collecting an Artifact, we must complete a small puzzle turning them around to find a Memory Point on them. The Memory Point must be activated to “complete” the Artifact & have them count towards our progress.

The Memory Point is found on the backside of the Strange Rock. You do not need to listen to the Memory if you do not want to, only activate it.

Udûn – The Black Gate:

Ithildin Rune #2 – i naudhir edhil: We can find an Ithildin Rune here at the Black Gate.

Artifact #2 – Mortar & Pestle: We can find the Mortar & Pestle at the Southwestern end of the Black Gate; the Memory Point is located on the top of the Mortar.

Artifact #3 – Iron Shackle: We can find the Iron Shackle at the Northwestern end of the Black Gate; the Memory Point is located on the top of the left shackle vice.

Artifact #4 – Lockpick: We can find the Lockpick at the Northeastern end of the Black Gate; the Memory Point is located along the sides of the string wrapped handle of the Lockpick.

Survival Challenge #2: For our second Survival Challenge, we need to collect 3 Pipeweed (Green Flower) & 1 Lothrond (Yellow Mushroom). The Pipeweed can be easily found in the Udûn Foothills & the Black Gate, & we can find a Lothrond at the Black Gate as well.

Most of the Survival Challenges can be completed just by using our first two marked regions & can easily be farmed there. These Herbs spawn all across Udûn in multiple regions however, so don’t feel you need to grind this out right away. These can be worked on as you play…

Achievement #3 – Strike True: Unlock 2 Bow Rune slots.
By this point, you should have a decent amount of Mirian collected. For this Achievement, we need to purchase a second Bow Rune slot which will cost us 60 Mirian.

Survival Challenge #3: For our third Survival Challenge, we need to collect 2 Remmenthond (Red Root) & 2 Azuradan (Blue Root). We can find the Azuradan at the Black Gate, & the Remmenthond in both the Black Gate & the Udûn Foothills.

Survival Challenge #4: For our fourth Survival Challenge, we need to collect 2 Niphredil (White Flower), 2 Lothrund (Yellow Mushroom), & 1 Azuradan (Blue Root). Once again, we can find these throughout our first two mapped regions.

Achievement #4 – The Cold Light: Unlock 3 Sword Rune slots.
With all this Mirian we are receiving, we can go on to purchase two Rune slots for our sword, Urfael. The second slot will cost 60 Mirian, & the third slot will cost 180 Mirian; purchase the third slot to unlock this Achievement.

Survival Challenge #5: For our fifth Survival Challenge, we need to collect 4 Blue Milk (Blue Mushroom), & 2 Mallos (Yellow Root). We can find Mallos in both the Udun Foothills & at the Black Gate. Blue Milk can be found underneath the bridges in the Udûn Foothills.

Survival Challenge #6: For our sixth Survival Challenge, we need to collect 3 Elgaran (Red Flower), & 3 Earthbread (Green Root). Both can be found in the Udûn Foothills as well as at the Black Gate.

We can only complete up to the 6th Survival Challenge in Udûn; we will gain access to the remaining four when we progress to the second area, the Sea of Núrnen.

Acharn Legend Mission #1 – The Mithril Blade: We can access our first Archarn Legend Mission at the Southwestern edge of the Black Gate. We will have 3:00 minutes to stealth kill 10 Uruks; the bonus for remaining undetected is optional.

Achievement #5 – Legend of Shadow: Complete a Dagger Mission & begin growing the legend of Acharn.
We will unlock this Achievement after completing our first Acharn Legend Mission.

Achievement #6 – Paid In Blood: Unlock 4 Dagger Rune slots.
For our last Rune slot Achievement, we will need to purchase 4 Rune Slots for Acharn. The second will cost 60 Mirian, the third 180 Mirian, & the fourth will cost us 380 Mirian. You should have enough between the Survival Challenges & completing the Acharn Legend Mission; if not, we will easily earn enough later on…

For “Flying Creatures”, head to the cave (or most caves) located at the Northeastern end of the Black Road during the daytime & we can see well over 10 Morgul Bats roosting above the cave entrance. Quickly shoot down 5 to complete the Hunting Challenge.

Achievement #8 – Legend of Vengeance: Complete a Sword Mission & begin growing the legend of Urfael.
We will unlock this Achievement after completing our first Urfael Legend Mission.

Achievement #9 – Fly You Fools!: Make 20 Uruks flee by dropping Morgai Fly Nests.
As we travel around Udûn, keep your eyes open for Morgai Fly Nests hanging off of buildings or rope lines. When you spot them, make sure to shoot or cut them down to scare off the Uruks below it. Scare off 20 Uruks this way to unlock the Achievement.

Udûn – Barrows of Udûn:

Forge Tower #3: Head across Udûn to the West now over to the Barrows of Udûn & we can find a Forge Tower here; this Forge Tower will only reveal the Barrows of Udûn region.

Ithildin Rune #6 – Nan iChír Gelair Mordor: We can find this Ithildin Rune below the Forge Tower to the East.

Ithildin Rune #7 – Ivab gelebren: We can find this Ithildin Rune below the Forge Tower to the West.

Artifact #9 – Coded Journal Entry #1: We can find the first Coded Journal Entry further East of the Forge Tower; the Memory Point is located on the backside of the dead crow near its neck.

Ithildin Rune #8 – di ‘weriennin anann: We can find this next Ithildin Rune to the far Eastern edge of the Barrows of Udûn.

Urfael Legend Mission #2 – The Fell Beast: For this Mission, we need to mount the provided Caragor then proceed to kill the fleeing Uruks in under 3:00 minutes before they return to their Strongholds. The easiest way to do this is just to ride up & headshot them with our Bow; don’t waste Arrows or Focus on anyone else.

Azkâr Legend Mission #2 – Swift Mercy: For this Mission, we need to kill 15 Uruks in under 30s; they are all weakened & can be killed in a single shot without needing to charge up the Bow. The timer will begin as soon as you kill your first Uruk; using Focus will slow down the timer.

Udûn – Durthang Outskirts:

Forge Tower #4: Our next Forge Tower can be found to the Southwest over in the Durthang Outskirts. It will reveal the Durthang Outskirts, Durthang Wastes, Durthang West, & Durthang Keep regions.

Ithildin Rune #10 – puigadol dagor: The next Ithildin Rune can be found nearby to the North of the previous one underneath a bridge.

Achievement #10 – Jaws of Death: Attract Caragors with Bait 5 times.
There is a high amount of Caragor Bait strung up all through the Durthang Stronghold regions. These are large beast torsos that are hanging up off buildings or rope lines.

Simply shoot these down whenever you see them & after luring in 5 Caragors this way we will unlock the Achievement.

Hunting Challenge #3: For this Hunting Challenge we need to kill 3 Caragors. Durthang is a great place to fight Caragors since there are so many behind Cages or lured in by Bait. At our level, killing them with headshots is our best option.

Artifact #10 – Grog Bowl: We can find the Grog Bowl at the Southern end of the Durthang Outskirts; the Memory Point is located on the underside of the leftmost handle on the bowl.

Azkâr Legend Mission #3 – Shadow Under Siege: For this Mission, we must kill 10 Uruks without stepping foot inside Durthang Stronghold; there are specifically marked Uruks that count, the others will not. Kills using Baited or freed Caragors will count.

Udûn – Durthang Wastes:

Artifact #11 – Graven Idol Representing Morgoth: There is only one Artifact we need to collect in the Durthang Wastes & it is located in a cave at the Northern end of the region; beware as there may be a Graug in this cave. The Memory Point on the idol is located on the top of its head.

Achievement #11 – Paths of the Dead: Collect 25% of the Artifacts.
We will unlock this Achievement after finding 11/42 Artifacts.

Acharn Legend Mission #2 – Clear the Skies: For this Mission, we need to Stealth Kill 10 Uruk Archers without setting off the Alarm; we can be detected.

Urfael Legend Mission #3 – Cutting the Lines: For this Mission, we need to enter into the Durthang training grounds & kill all of the marked Uruk Trainees.

Achievement #12 – Unleashed: Free 5 Caragors from cages.
We can typically find Caragors trapped behind/inside cages at Durthang Stronghold, but these can be found all across Udûn as well. Whenever you see a trapped Caragor, be sure to release it by shooting the cage. Do this 5 times to unlock the Achievement.

Udûn – Durthang Keep:

Artifact #12 – Rusted Horn: We can find the Rusted Horn inside an open Caragor Cage in Durthang Keep; the Memory Point is located inside the horn.

Complete the fourth Hunting Challenge to unlock the Achievement.

As of now, we will be unable to complete anymore Hunting Challenges until we beat more Main Missions…

Ithildin Rune #13 – Erio o thelaith gurth: We can find this Ithildin Rune on the side of a wall near an archway at the Northeastern end of Udûn Crossing.

Artifact #14 – Basket Fragment: We can find the Basket Fragment close by the previous Ithildin Rune underneath a bridge; the Memory Point is located on the bottom of the Basket.

Udûn – Southern Black Road:

Azkâr Legend Mission #4 – The Storm of War: For this Mission, mount the provided Caragor & chase down the marked Uruk scout patrol. Reach it, & there will be 4 Uruk Archers we need to kill using our Bow. Kill them, then head to the next scout patrol to kill another 4 Uruk Archers. Travel to the third, & ideally final scout patrol & kill a final 2 Uruk Archers to complete the Mission.

If you need more Arrows, Drain your Caragor to replenish them, though be wary of its current health…

Udûn – West Garrison:

Ithildin Rune #14 – Trî laich: Enter into the West Garrison now & we can find this Ithildin Rune underneath a walkway leading to an archer tower.

Artifact #15 – Musty Tome: We can find the Musty Tome just South from the previous Ithildin Rune on the same stone ledge; the Memory Point is located on the bottom of the Tome.

Artifact #16 – Horned Helmet: We can find the Horned Helmet on top of an archer tower along the Southern cliff walls of the region; the Memory Point is located on the top left side of the Helmet.

Acharn Legend Mission #3 – The Wraith: For this Mission, we need to Stealth Kill any 5 Uruks without being detected.

Udûn – Southern Udûn Pass:

Forge Tower #5: We can find our final Forge Tower in Udûn over in the Southern Udûn Pass region; it will uncover the Southern Udûn Pass, & the East Garrison regions.

Achievement #14 – Height of Despair: Use Strike From Above while at least 60ft above your target.
This Achievement can be earned by leaping off a Forge Tower & performing a Strike From Above on any Uruk; we need to purchase this Tier 1 Ranger Ability first. Stand on top of a Forge Tower, & wait for an Uruk to pass by underneath us (or lure some over then climb back up the Tower). Crouch & perform a Stealth Kill from up here to leap down & kill them; we can do this on other structures, but Forge Towers are guaranteed to be 60ft+ & are the most convenient to use.

If you are currently detected while on the Tower, you will only knock the Uruk down performing the Strike From Above.

Artifact #17 – Ranger’s Reading Primer: We can find the Ranger’s Reading Primer at the Northeastern end of the Southern Udûn Pass leading into the Uruk Proving Grounds; the Memory Point is located on one of the side latches to the book.

Ithildin Rune #16 – i’Warth, dangarnen: We can find this Ithildin Rune close to the large central area of the Southern Udûn Pass up in a tower.

Achievement #15 – Crowned With Living Light: Collect 50% of the Ithildin Runes.
We will unlock this Achievement after locating 16/32 Ithildin Runes.

Artifact #18 – Ranger’s Cloak Clasp: We can find the Ranger’s Cloak Clasp on top of some ruins at the far Western edge of the region; the Memory Point is located on the backside of the clasp.

Azkâr Legend Mission #5 – The Eye of Vengeance: For this Mission, we need to kill 5 Uruks at close range using our Bow. This is pretty simple. Just get up into point blank range, & using Focus to help slow things down, kill the Uruks with headshots for easy kills.

Udûn – East Garrison:

Artifact #19 – Excavator Cog: We can find the Excavator Cog at the top Northwestern end of the East Garrison; the Memory Point is located on the underside of one of the cog’s spokes.

Acharn Legend Mission #4 – Deathly Whisper: For this Mission, we need to use Attract to lure Uruks over to our position & kill them while they investigate; kill 5 Uruks this way. We can be detected.

Achievement #16 – Repaid In Blood: Complete a Vendetta Mission.
This Achievement used to be Online based, but was patched just before the Online Servers were shutdown to make it still obtainable; praise Monolith studios!

As of the update, there are no longer Vendetta Missions per say we can complete. Instead, get killed by any Uruk or Uruk Captain, & you will see a red Revenge Target marker above their heads. Track down a Revenge Target, & kill them to obtain Vengeance, & we will unlock this Achievement.
Sequence 4: The Resistance
1. Udûn: The Black Gate, Durthang West, Internment Camp, Southern Black Road, The Black Road, Barrows of Udûn, Udûn Crossing

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As of now, we have cleared all current Collectibles, Challenges, & available Legend Missions in Udûn. We can now begin to start completing Main Missions…

Udûn – The Black Gate:

Main Mission #2 – The Slaver: Travel to our Mission marker at the Black Gate & we will be tasked with killing Gimûb the Slaver.

Udûn:

Outcast Rescue Mission #1 – The Fallen: After completing Main Mission – The Slaver, we will now gain access to Outcast Rescue Missions scattered around Udûn. Search for Outcast markers on our Map, & rescue them from Uruks to receive these Missions.

Outcasts spawn in the same general areas, so if you find one close to a Forge Tower you can keep Fast Travelling to it to keep rescuing the Outcast to unlock all available Outcast Rescue Missions…

Outcast Rescue Mission – The Fallen will appear in the Barrows of Udûn region after it is unlocked; there are 3 Slaves we must rescue here.

Achievement #17 – The Free Folk: Complete an Outcast Rescue Mission.
Complete any Outcast Rescue Mission to unlock this Achievement.

Outcast Rescue Mission #2 – Hold Your Tongue: This Outcast Rescue Mission will appear in the Uruk’s Hollow region after it is unlocked via freeing a marked Outcast; there are 3 Slaves we must rescue.

Outcast Rescue Mission #3 – Shattered: This Outcast Rescue Mission will appear in the Southern Black Road region after it is unlocked via freeing a marked Outcast; there are 3 Slaves we must rescue.

Outcast Rescue Mission #4 – Resistance: This Outcast Rescue Mission will appear in the Internment Camp region after it is unlocked via freeing a marked Outcast; there are 3 Slaves we must rescue.

Outcast Rescue Mission #5 – Unleashed: With the first four Outcast Rescue Missions completed, we can now free more Outcasts to unlock the next two Missions.

This Outcast Rescue Mission will appear in the Barrows of Udûn region after it is unlocked via freeing a marked Outcast; there are 3 Slaves we must rescue.

Outcast Rescue Mission #6 – Worked to Death: This Outcast Rescue Mission will appear in the Southern Udûn Pass region after it is unlocked via freeing a marked Outcast; there are 3 Slaves we must rescue.

Udûn – The Black Gate:

Main Mission #3 – An Interested Party: Return back to the Black Gate now, & we will attract the attention of the Ring-bound creature, Golem. Enter the Wraith World & follow Golem’s tracks over to a cave in the Black Road region. Enter the cave, & we can find our first Vision Artifact from the Wraith’s past…

Achievement #18 – The Bright Master: Discover some of the Wraith's past.
Story Related. After we witness our first vision of the Wraith’s past, we will be attacked by a Caragor. Kill the Caragor, & we will unlock this Achievement.

Main Mission #3 – An Interested Party: Chase after Golem out of the cave, & we will have to dispatch another Caragor along with some new Uruk Hunters. Defeat them & locate Golem.

As of completing this Main Mission, Uruk Hunters will now spawn throughout Udûn.

Udûn – Durthang West:

Main Mission #4 – The Spirit of Mordor: Now, we need to destabilize Sauron’s control over Udûn. To create tension amongst the Uruk’s ranks, we need our own inside agent. Travel to Durthang West, & release an Uruk Captain known as Ratbag. Follow Ratbag & we will eventually be engaged by new Uruk Defenders; completing this Mission will cause them to spawn throughout Udûn…

Defend Ratbag, & we must now search around the Durthang Outskirts to locate our target, Goroth Caragor Tamer. Travel around to the marked area to be tipped off to his location; find Goroth & kill him.

With the completion of this Main Mission, we will now gain access to Uruk Missions. Uruk Missions are specific to Uruk Captains, & if they complete them, they will Level up & gain more Power; we can use these to track down & kill Uruk Captains as well by invading their Uruk Mission.

Tier 2 Abilities: By this point, we should have earned enough Power to unlock Tier 2 Ranger & Wraith Abilities we can purchase as well…

Udûn – Internment Camp:

Acharn Legend Mission #5 – Display of Power: With Tier 2 Abilities now available, purchase the Brutalize Ability to unlock this Acharn Legend Mission. For this Mission, we need to sneak through the Internment Camp into Uruk’s Hollow without being detected & stealth Brutalize the marked Uruk.

Udûn:

Outcast Rescue Mission #7 – Over the Edge: This Outcast Rescue Mission will appear in the Barrows of Udûn region after it is unlocked via freeing a marked Outcast; it is locked until we acquire the Brutalize Ability. There are 3 Slaves we must rescue.

Udûn – Southern Black Road:

Main Mission #5 – Shattered Memories: Track down Golem once again, & have him lead us to our next Vision Artifact from the Wraith’s past. Navigate into Southern Udûn Pass, & use Wraith World to follow Golem’s tracks to the relic; collect it to witness another vision.

Hunting Challenge #5: After witnessing the Wraith’s vision, we will be attacked by Ghûls which will simultaneously activate our next Hunting Challenge! Simply kill 8 Ghûls to complete the Hunting Challenge.

Udûn – The Black Road:

Hunting Challenge #6: For our next Hunting Challenge, we need to kill 3 Bats. Bats can easily be found at the Northeastern end of the Black Road near the cave. We can find Bats either roosting at the cave entrance, or if it is night time, they can be found flying around outside it.

Udûn – The Black Road/Barrows of Udûn:

Hunting Challenge #7: For this Hunting Challenge we need to kill a Graug. At our current Level, the only real way to kill them is by continually headshotting them with our Bow; ideally there will be Arrows nearby we can collect. Headshot the Graug & it will stagger allowing us to get in 4-6 attacks with Urfael. When the Graug arises, headshot it again to stun it so we can keep attacking it. Rinse & repeat.

We can get an Olog Graug to spawn in two “guaranteed” areas of Udûn, but it may require you to Advance Time at Forge Towers as each time we do, it will reset the area potentially causing a Graug to spawn. Advance Time at the Black Road Forge Tower, & there is a chance a Graug will spawn directly below us to the West of the Tower. Alternatively, there is a higher chance a Graug will spawn at the far back end of the cave system found at the Northwestern end of the Barrows of Udûn; Caragors may spawn here instead though.
Sequence 5: An Unlikely Warchief
1. Udûn: Barrows of Udûn, Udûn Crossing
2. Main Missions: The One Truth, Climbing the Ranks, The Outcasts
3. Urfael Legend Missions: 3/10
4. Azkâr Legend Missions: 5/10
5. Acharn Legend Missions: 5/10
6. Outcast Rescue Missions: 12/24
7. Survival Challenges: 6/10
8. Hunting Challenges: 7/10
9. Forge Towers: 5/11
10. Ithildin Runes: 16/32
11. Artifacts: 18/42
12. Achievements: 21/74
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Udûn – Udûn Crossing:

Urfael Legend Mission – Nameless Things: With Ghûls now spawning in Udûn & the Wraith Flash Ability unlocked, we will gain access to Urfael Legend Mission – Nameless Things down at the Udûn Crossing. Do not begin this Mission yet!

I strongly recommend saving this Mission for later as there is a guaranteed Ghûl Matron spawn during it; we need to kill one for Hunting Challenge #9 & they are quite difficult to try & spawn naturally! Though it is still possible, of course.

Udûn – Barrows of Udûn:

Main Mission #6 – The One Truth: Track down Golem once again, this time in the Barrows of Udûn & follow the creature’s tracks inside the large cave system to the West. Get to the back end of the cave system, & use Wraith World to locate another Vision Artifact.

After witnessing the vision, we now need to flee from the Graug who has now come home; we will also unlock the Shadow Strike Ability.

Achievement #19 – To Rule Them All: Witness the creation of the Rings of Power.
Story Related. We will unlock this Achievement after using Shadow Strike on the Ghûl across the cave from us during Main Mission – The One Truth.

Udûn – Udûn Crossing:

Main Mission #7 – Climbing the Ranks: With our business now finished with Golem, it will be time for us to go check back in with our “friend” Ratbag & see how he is managing as an Uruk Captain. It will be going poorly… rescue him from the hands of Brogg the Twin.

Defeat Brogg, but make sure you Interrogate him instead of killing him so we can reveal the identity of our first Warchief, Mogg… the Other Twin. As of now, we can start revealing the identities of the other four Warchiefs.

Udûn – Barrows of Udûn:

Main Mission #8 – The Outcasts: Before we pursue the Warchiefs however, it is time for us to meet up with the leader of the Outcast resistance, Hirgon, at their hideout in the Barrows of Udûn.

Follow Hirgon to an Uruk camp, & he will teach us how to Poison Grog Barrels. First we need to collect 3 Hithlas Herbs scattered around the camp; enter Wraith World to see them better. Head to the next camp & collect 2 more Hithlas Herbs, then a third camp to find a final 3 Hithlas Herbs.

With all the Hithlas collected, travel with Hirgon to Uruk’s Hollow, & we will acquire the Poison Ability. Poison the 5 Grog Barrels, & we will rescue Hirgon’s wife from the Uruks.

Udûn:

Outcast Rescue Mission #8 – Drink Up: Now that we have the Poison Ability unlocked, we can now acquire this Outcast Rescue Mission by freeing any marked Outcast on our Map. Travel to the Mission in the Durthang Wastes & free the 3 Slaves here.

Outcast Rescue Mission #9 – Venom: This Outcast Rescue Mission will appear in the Black Gate region after it is unlocked via freeing a marked Outcast; there are 5 Slaves we must rescue.

Outcast Rescue Mission #10 – Borrowed Blades: This Outcast Rescue Mission will appear in the Durthang Outskirts region after it is unlocked via freeing a marked Outcast; there are 5 Slaves we must rescue.

Outcast Rescue Mission #11 – The Watcher: This Outcast Rescue Mission will appear in the East Garrison region after it is unlocked via freeing a marked Outcast; there are 5 Slaves we must rescue.

Outcast Rescue Mission #12 – The Uprising: We will gain access to our final Outcast Rescue Mission in Udûn after we complete all previous ones before it.

This Outcast Rescue Mission will appear in the Black Gate region after it is unlocked via freeing a marked Outcast; there are 7 Slaves we must rescue.

Achievement #20 – And It Burns, Burns, Burns: Use the Detonate Ability to burn 50 Uruks.
The Detonate Ability is a Tier 1 Wraith Ability you should have purchased a while ago. Anytime you see Uruks gathered around a campfire or a Grog Barrel, be sure to shoot it with an Arrow to Detonate it & burn the nearby Uruks. We do not need to kill Uruks this way, only light them on fire. After we have burned over 50 Uruks this way, we will unlock the Achievement; you will most likely earn this naturally during our 100%.

Achievement #21 – Black Celebration: Poison a Captain at his own Feast.
Now that we have the Poison Ability, we can easily earn this Achievement. Advance Time at a Forge Tower until a Feast Uruk Mission appears on our Map. Infiltrate the Mission, & search around the area to Poison Grog Barrels; do not get spotted. After Poisoning a nearby Grog Barrel, wait for the Uruk Captain to approach & drink from it. When they get Poisoned, we will unlock this Achievement.

Udûn:
With all prior Missions & Challenges completed, it will now be time for us to wipe out the 5 Warchiefs in Udûn; these Warchiefs are randomly generated & will be different from person to person, though the Missions to defeat them will be the same. There are a few Achievements pertaining to Warchiefs we can unlock as well so keep them in mind…

Achievement #22 – Divide & Conquer: Eliminate the Bodyguards of two Warchiefs, then draw them out & kill them.
To start, highlight the 5 Warchiefs (ignoring Mogg the Other Twin), & look to see who their Bodyguards are. For the Divide & Conquer Achievement, we need to kill all of two Warchiefs Bodyguards before we go on to kill them; they must have Bodguards for this to count. Choose Warchiefs with only 1 Bodyguard if possible to make things easier.

Kill all of a Warchiefs Bodyguards, then enter into their Warchief Mission & kill them for it to count. Then move on to kill a second Warchief’s Bodyguards, then dispatch the second Warchief to unlock the Achievement.

The Bodyguards will appear with the Warchief if they are lured out during their Warchief Mission & while it will count if you kill them in the Mission, it is less ideal as they can flee.

Udûn – East Garrison:

Main Mission #9 – The Warchief: When the other 4 Warchiefs have all been defeated, meet up with Ratbag to lure out & kill Mogg the Other Twin. Defeat Mogg’s two Uruk Berserker trainees & he will appear.

Achievement #23 – Power Vacuum: Kill all 5 Warchiefs before any Uruk take their place.
If you had all four of the Warchiefs of Udûn dead before killing Mogg the Other Twin, then we will unlock this Achievement as soon as he is dead. If other Warchiefs were still alive, we will need to unlock this at a later point…

Achievement #24 – Ratbag the Great & Powerful: Get Ratbag promoted to Warchief.
Story Related. Defeat Mogg the Other Twin, & Ratbag will be promoted to one of the Warchief’s of Udûn unlocking this Achievement.

Tier 3 Abilities: With Main Mission – The Warchief completed, there is a good chance you will have earned enough Power to reach Tier 3 Abilities for us to purchase.

Udûn – Southern Udûn Pass:

Urfael Legend Mission #4 – Arise: Purchase the Tier 3 Combat Drain Ability & we will unlock a new Urfael Legend Mission. For this Mission, we simply need to defeat 40 Uruks; this is a good Mission to burn Uruks using Detonate on the nearby campfire & Grog Barrels…

Udûn – Barrows of Udûn:

Main Mission #10 – The Dark Monument: With the Warchiefs all defeated, return to see Hirgon to hear his plan on how to lure out one of the Black Captains. Help Hirgon steal a cart full of Grog Barrels then protect it as the Outcasts get it in position below the statue of Sauron at the Monument Gate.

Achievement #25 – Gorthaur the Cruel: Destroy the Monument Gate & topple the statue of Sauron.
Story Related. Complete the Main Mission – The Dark Monument & destroy the statue of Sauron to unlock this Achievement.

Main Mission #11 – The Black Captain: With the statue destroyed, return to see Hirgon at the Outcast hideout to learn that the Black Captain, the Hammer, has arrived in Udûn.

Achievement #26 – The Hammer Falls: Kill the Hammer.
Story Related. Slay the Hammer, the first of the Black Captains in front of the Monument Gate in the East Garrison region to unlock this Achievement.

Udûn – Durthang Wastes:

Main Mission #12 – The Messenger: Starting this Mission will make us leave Udûn & travel to the second area of the game, Núrnen. We will stay in Núrnen for quite a while however this is not a “point of no return”, & we are able to Fast Travel back to Udûn whenever we want.

Meet up with Lithariel, & travel with her to Núrnen to meet Queen Marwen…

Sea of Núrnen – Harad Basin:

Main Mission #12 – The Messenger: When we arrive in Núrnen, we will need to investigate the site of a wrecked Uruk caravan. Investigate the caravan, & follow a set of Ghûl tracks to a large cave system at the Northeastern edge of the region. Navigate through the cave without alerting the Ghûl swarm, & we can locate our next Vision Artifact.

Witness the vision, & we will have to defeat a Ghûl Matron. Once she is dead, we will have 2:00 minutes to escape the cave before the entire Ghûl horde arrives.

Main Mission #13 – Queen of the Shore: Before we begin exploring Núrnen, I recommend continuing on with this Main Mission as it will unlock a very important Ability for us. Return to Queen Marwen, & we will be sent out to the Cab-Gwanath Bluffs without being detected as well as under 1:30 minutes to rescue some of her Tribesmen soldiers.

When we arrive, we will learn the Brand Ability, & will be able to convert Uruks to fight for us! Brand the Uruk Archers, & use them to help rescue the captured Tribesmen.

Main Mission #14 – The Power of the Wraith: Return back to Queen Marwen, for a final Mission to build her an Uruk army. To do this, we will first need a Captain. Track down Grûblik the Flogger, & we will obtain the Command Ability that will allow us to Brand Uruk Captains. Weaken Grûblik, then grab him; Dominate his mind & we can then Command him to enter Initiation with the Warchief Târz the Knife to become one of his Bodyguards.

Travel to the new Uruk Mission that was created for Grûblik the Flogger, & complete it so that he becomes one of the Warchief’s Bodyguards.

Next, it will be time for us to attack the Warchief. Get to the vantage point in the Maw of Hope region without raising the Stronghold alarms & Târz the Knife will arrive. Note that there may be other Bodyguards with Târz not under our control… When you are ready, Command Grûblik the Flogger to attack the Warchief, & be prepared to assist in killing him.

Achievement #27 – The White Wizard: Lift Lady Marwen's Curse.
Story Related. Return back to Queen Marwen after we assist Grûblik the Flogger in becoming a Warchief… & we will banish the White Wizard who is currently possessing her…

Tier 4 Abilities: Completing Main Mission – The Power of the Wraith will potentially earn us enough Power to reach Tier 4 Abilities for us to now purchase

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that we have the Brand Ability unlocked & are able to Brand Uruk Captains, now is the best time to go & fully explore the Sea of Núrnen. As we explore, make a point of Branding as many Uruk Captains as possible as it will make things easier for us later on…

Hold off on taking out/Branding any other Warchiefs for now though as there are a few Achievements we need to earn while we do so that will take some set up…

Artifact #22 – Blood-Stained Buckler: Further past the Ithildin Rune, we can find the Blood-Stained Buckler in a side corner near a group of camped Uruks; the Memory Point is located on one of the backside handles of the shield.

Survival Challenge #7: Now that we are in Núrnen, we can also complete our final few Survival Challenges. For this Challenge, we need to collect 2 Gwînuial (White Root) & 4 Alfirin (Yellow Flower).

Outcast Rescue Mission #13 – The Name of Power: Rescue a marked Outcast on our Map, & we will receive this Outcast Rescue Mission located in the Harad Basin region (there are 3 other Outcast Rescue Missions we can also unlock as well). There are 3 Slaves to rescue.

Sea of Núrnen – Fern Outskirts:

Forge Tower #7: Our next Forge Tower will be located in the Fern Outskirts & will reveal it & the & the Thang Talath region on our Map.

Artifact #25 – Torn Banner: We can find the Torn Banner at the far Northern edge of the Thang Talath region; its Memory Point is located on the top of the banner along the branch it is tied to.

Ithildin Rune #21 – Galad na ‘Lamhoth: We can find this Ithildin Rune at the far Southern edge of the region inside a cave.

Azkâr Legend Mission #8 – The Secret Flame: For this Mission, we need to fight our way into the cave system full of Ghûls & lure them into the Barrows located at the back of the cave. Once the Ghûls are lured here we need to kill 50 of them by Detonating Grog Barrels. After Detonating a Barrel, make sure you wait for more Ghûls to enter the Barrows before Detonating the next one to maximize their effectiveness.

Acharn Legend Mission #6 – A Knife In the Dark: For this Mission, we need to kill all marked Uruks (by any means) without being detected.

Sea of Núrnen – Cab-Gwanath Bluff:

Forge Tower #8: Our next Forge Tower can be found in the Cab-Gwanath Bluffs region & will reveal it, Tol Crossing, the Maw of Hope, & the Executioner’s Watch regions.

Acharn Legend Mission #7 – The Darkness Within: For this Mission, we need to navigate through the Maw of Hope Stronghold & get to the marked location in Executioner’s Watch while remaining undetected. When we get there, we will then have to Stealth Brand all 7 of the marked Uruk Archers while also remaining undetected; you may need to Attract some of them towards ledges to avoid being seen to Stealth Brand a few of them. Getting detected at any point will force us to restart the Mission from the start…

Once the 7 Uruk Archers have been Branded, an Uruk patrol will arrive; we can now be detected. Use our Branded Uruks & kill everyone in the patrol.

Azkâr Legend Mission #9 – The Spirit of Fire: To unlock this Azkâr Legend Mission, we need to purchase the Tier 3 Fire Arrow Ability. For this Mission, we just need to kill any 5 Uruks using the Fire Arrow Ability.

9. Forge Towers: 9/11
10. Ithildin Runes: 27/32
11. Artifacts: 33/42
12. Achievements: 30/74
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sea of Núrnen – Cab-Gwanath Bluff:

Survival Challenge #10: For our final Survival Challenge, we need to locate 3 Blue Milk (Blue Mushroom), 2 Elgaran (Red Flower), & 2 Gwînuial (White Root).

We can find these final Herbs scattered throughout the Sea of Núrnen quite easily.

Achievement #28 – Ranger of Ithilien: Complete all 10 Survivalist Challenges.
The 10 Survival Challenges are pretty straightforward to complete. Look at each region on your Map screen & it will list which Herbs can be found in each one. You can complete up to Challenge #7 in Udûn & the rest are unlocked once you reach the Sea of Núrnen.

If you are having troubles locating Mushrooms, they are typically found inside caves or below bridges.

Achievement #29 – A New Master: Brand a Captain while in combat.
This can be done any time after unlocking the Brand Ability; you may have already unlocked it. The Maw of Hope Stronghold has many Uruk Captains in it making it a good place to attempt this Achievement. For this to count, it must be a Combat Brand & not simply done by grabbing a Captain & Dominating them.

If the Uruk Captain is Vulnerable to Combat Finishers, we can Brand him instantly using a Combat Brand. If they are only Damaged by Combat Finishers, you will have to carefully whittle down the Captain’s health pretty low before the Combat Brand will succeed. Obviously if they are Invulnerable to Combat Finishers, we will be unable to use them for the Achievement…

There are more than 10 of these Uruks marked, so if some are out of reach or run away, there should still be enough in range.

Achievement #30 – The Maker’s Bow: Complete all 10 Azkâr Legend Missions.
There are 5 Azkâr Legend Missions in Udûn & 5 in the Sea of Núrnen. After you purchase the Fire Arrow Ability you should have access to all of these Missions. Complete the final Mission to unlock this Achievement.

There are 5 Slaves to rescue & we must free them all in under 2:00 minutes; every time we free a Slave, the timer will reset back to 2:00 minutes.

Mounting a Caragar can be useful to cover the distances, but it is optional. You can manage fine just using Elven Swiftness & Shadow Strike to get between Slaves.

Sea of Núrnen – Tirith Mesas:

As he goes, he will speak with Uruk Worms that we will have to quickly kill before they run off. We cannot be detected. There is a timer for beating the Mission in under 8:00 minutes, but it isn’t really an issue. When the Worms are all killed, we will then need to kill the Messenger.

The easiest way to kill the Worms is with a headshot, it is also easiest to navigate between areas using Shadow Strike to get there before the Messenger does. Just be mindful of your Arrows.

Urfael Legend Mission #8 – The Dark Rider: For this Mission, mount the provided Caragor & quickly ride to the three different execution spots to rescue the Slaves. Keep your Caragor’s health topped up by eating Uruks with its bite attack; we can Drain it if we need to, so we keep our Arrows replenished.

Sea of Núrnen:

Outcast Rescue Mission #21 – Nowhere to Hide: With the second set of four Outcast Rescue Missions completed, we can now receive our next three. Rescue a marked Outcast on our Map, & we will receive this Outcast Rescue Mission located in the Cab-Gwanath Bluff region. There are 5 Slaves to rescue.

Artifact #41 – Cook’s Knife: We can find the Cook’s Knife in the undercity area of Fort Morn close to the vantage point we found the previous Ithildin Rune on; its Memory Point is located on close to the tip of the blade.

Acharn Legend Mission #10 – The Scouring of Shadow: For this Mission, we need to travel to all of the dormant Ghûl nest sites & stealthily kill all of the Uruk Torchbearers in the area. We cannot be detected, but we can kill the Torchbearers through any means.

Achievement #33 – The Last Shadow: Complete all 10 Acharn Dagger Missions.
We will unlock this Achievement after completing our final Archarn Legend Mission; there are 5 in Udûn & 5 in the Sea of Núrnen. After we have received the Brand Ability, we will have access to all of these Missions.
Sequence 10: Restoring Trust
1. Sea of Núrnen: Ethir Polos, Fort Morn, Cape of Nurn, Tirith Mesas, Hirad Basin
2. Main Missions: The Cure, The Rescue, Big Game, Hunting Partners
3. Urfael Legend Missions: 8/10
4. Outcast Rescue Missions: 24/24
5. Hunting Challenges: 8/10
6. Artifacts: 42/42
7. Achievements: 36/74
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sea of Núrnen – Ethir Polos:

Artifact #42 – Apothecary Jar: We can find the Apothecary Jar underneath the wooden structure near the center of the region; its Memory Point is located on the base of the jar.

Achievement #34 – Shadows of the Ancient Past: Collect 100% of the Artifacts & listen to their memories.
We will unlock this Achievement after collecting our final Artifact & activating all Memory Points on them; we do not have to listen to the full memories. There are 19 Artifacts in Udûn & 23 Artifacts in the Sea of Núrnen. Like the Ithildin Runes, they will all appear on our Map after re-forging the Forge Tower for their respective regions…

Outcast Rescue Mission #23 – Light In the Darkness: Rescue a marked Outcast on our Map, & we will receive this Outcast Rescue Mission located in the Ethir Poros region. There are 10 Slaves to rescue while we fight off an infinite horde of Uruks; not only will freed Slaves help us fight, but they can also rescue others.

Sea of Núrnen – Fort Morn:

Outcast Rescue Mission #24 – To Freedom: After all other Outcast Rescue Missions have been completed, rescue a marked Outcast on our Map, & we will receive this final Outcast Rescue Mission located in the Fort Morn region. There are 5 Slaves to rescue.

Achievement #35 – Liberator: Complete all 24 Outcast Rescue Missions.
We will unlock this Achievement after completing all 24 Outcast Rescue Missions; there are 12 Missions in Udûn & 12 in the Sea of Núrnen. All of the Outcast Rescue Missions will become available after we receive the Uruk Brand Ability.

Fast travelling to most Forge Towers will typically have a marked Outcast nearby that we can rescue to receive new Outcast Rescue Mission; you can keep rescuing the same Outcast by Fast Traveling back to the Forge Tower to gain access to all available Missions.

Main Mission #15 – The Cure: Hold off on dealing with the Núrnen Warchiefs a little while longer, & let us continue to assist Lithariel. Clear the three marked areas in Fort Morn without raising an Alarm (we can be detected); one of these will have an Uruk Captain guarding it who cannot be Dominated.

Sea of Núrnen – Cape of Nurn:

Main Mission #16 – The Rescue: After we locate the healing potion for Lady Marwen, Lithariel will go missing at the Stronghold along the Núrnen Peninsula. Infiltrate the Stronghold & quickly Brand at least 6 Uruks before 8:00 minutes runs out. We can be detected, but we cannot have the Stronghold Alarm raised.

After Branding 6 Uruks, quickly locate where Lithariel is & rescue her. Help her limp out of the Stronghold & defend her when more Uruks arrive…

Achievement #36 – Beyond Hope: Save Lithariel's life.
Story Related. We will unlock this Achievement after we rescue Lithariel from the Núrnen Peninsula Stronghold during Main Mission – The Rescue.

Sea of Núrnen – Tirith Mesas:

Main Mission #17 – Big Game: With Lithariel & her people helped, it will be time for us to seek out that mysterious Dwarf who helped escape the caves in the Harad Basin. Follow Torvin, & he will teach us the ways of mounting Caragors more efficiently; this will unlock the Caragor Hunter Ability.

After we mount the Caragor, Torvin will challenge us to an Uruk killing competition while mounted; beating him is optional. Defeat a few groups of Uruks, & on the final group, a runner will escape & we will have to quickly kill them. When we return to Torvin… he will be gone. Track his Caragor’s prints in the Wraith World & we will need to rescue him from some Uruks.

Sea of Núrnen – Harad Basin:

Main Mission #18 – Hunting Partners: Now that we know how to properly mount Caragors, meet up with Torvin once again for another lesson – this one on Graugs. To mount the Graug, we will need to stealthily “bleed its ankle” by performing a Bleed Attack from behind while it is distracted; if we are detected, we will fail the Mission.

After performing the Bleed Attack, we will then need to quickly mount one of Caragors that will soon arrive. Once we are mounted on one, quickly ride to Torvin’s position for the next phase of the hunt. Shoot the Graug twice in the head to stun it & we will then gain the Graug Hunter Ability that will allow us to mount Graugs.

While mounted on the Graug, we will have to defeat an Uruk war party. At the end of this Mission, we will need to kill the Graug which will also complete Hunting Challenge #7 if you have not already done so…

Sea of Núrnen – Celon Poros:

Hunting Challenge #8: For Hunting Challenge #8, we will need to kill a legendary Dire Caragor; these will begin to spawn throughout the world after we completed Main Mission – Hunting Partners. This Hunting Challenge can be completed extremely easily by starting Torvin’s next Main Mission – The Great White Graug. At the very start of the Mission, we will need to tame a Dire Caragor.

Simply mount it, then perform Kill Mount to slay the Dire Caragor. We will fail the Mission, but the kill will still count; I then recommend Abandoning the Mission for now as we can also easily earn another Hunting Challenge kill at the end of this Mission…

If you already completed this Mission, your next best bet for finding a Dire Caragor will be at the cave located at the Northern end of the Celon Poros region. Fast Travel to either the Cape of Nurn or the Tirith Miras Forge Towers & rush to that cave in Wraith World; if you see a Caragor outlined in red, it is our Dire Caragor. If the Dire Caragor does not spawn, Fast Travel back to the Forge Tower & try again; you do not need to Advance Time to reset the spawns.

It took me around 9 attempts Fast Travelling to the Cape of Nurn Forge Tower for the Dire Caragor to spawn in front of the cave.
Sequence 11: Little Dwarf, Big Problems
1. Udûn: Udûn Crossing
2. Sea of Núrnen: Núrnen Wilderness
3. Main Missions: The Great White Graug
4. Urfael Legend Missions: 9/10
5. Hunting Challenges: 10/10
6. Achievements: 39/74
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Udûn – Udûn Crossing:

Urfael Legend Mission #9 – Nameless Things: If you had the foresight to save this Urfael Legend Mission, now is the time to complete it; Fast Travel back to Udûn & head to Udûn Crossing. For this Mission, we need to clear out three Ghûl nests inside a cave. After we clear the nests, a guaranteed Ghûl Matron will spawn! Use Combat Finishers to damage her effectively as well as vault over & attack her in the back if you need to.

Hunting Challenge #9: Urfael Legend Mission – Nameless Things is the only guaranteed way to spawn a Ghûl Matron; the only other Mission to guarantee a Ghûl Matron spawn was Main Mission – The Messenger… & it is impossible to have this Hunting Challenge then.

If you already completed the Urfael Legend Mission, then you will have to summon a Ghûl Matron the hard way. To lure one out in the main world, it will need to be nighttime. Travel around open areas (ideally on the back of a Caragor to save time) until you encounter Ghûls emerging from the ground. Carefully pick off the Ghûls until some start to run away – let them, & do not kill anymore Ghûls! The Ghûls will leave, & then summon more Ghûls to emerge & fight us.

Whittle some more down until a more go to flee. Rinse & repeat. It will take around 4-6 Ghûls to have burrowed underground to summon a Ghûl Matron on the next emergence.

Sea of Núrnen – Núrnen Wilderness:

Main Mission #19 – The Great White Graug: Now it will be time for us to defeat the legendary, Great White Graug (the Legendary Graug will count as a Horned Graug needed for Hunting Challenge #10). Meet up with Torvan in Celon Poros, & tame the Dire Caragor to ride with Torvan to the Great White Graug’s lair in the Núrnen Wilderness. To defeat it, we need to bait the Graug into charging & shoot it in the head mid charge to stun it so it charges into the cave walls. When it is stunned, we can perform a damaging mounting attack on it; do this & Ghûls will then emerge. If the Graug eats Ghûl’s, it will regenerate its health. We must quickly kill the Ghûls before we can bait the Graug into another charge; you can shoot the Ghûls out of the Graug’s hands if you are quick enough.

It will take a minimum of three Graug stuns/attacks to kill the Great White Graug; it will take more depending on how much it heals during the Ghûl spawns…

Achievement #37 – For My Brother: Kill the Great White Graug.
Story Related. Complete Main Mission – The Great White Graug, & we will help Torvin redeem his lost partner’s death, unlocking this Achievement.

Hunting Challenge #10: If you had this Hunting Challenge available during the previous Main Mission, we will complete it after we slay the Great White Graug. If not, then we will have to employ a similar strategy as with the Dire Caragor by Fast Travelling to the Cape of Nurn or Tirith Mesas Forge Towers & heading to the cave at the Northern end of Celon Poros. Like the Dire Caragor, Horned Graugs will spawn at this cave, but it is quite rare & may take a few Fast Travels back & forth; it will appear red in Wraith World.

To easily dispatch it, just Shadow Mount it & use Kill Mount afterwards…

Achievement #38 – Master of the Wilds: Complete all 10 Hunting Challenges.
After we dispatch the Horned Graug, we will have completed all 10 Hunting Challenges & unlock this Achievement. Apart from the final 3 Hunting Challenges, these are all quite easy to complete…

Achievement #39 – The White Rider: Liberate 30 Slaves in 180s while riding a Caragor.
Now that we can more easily mount Caragors, it will be time to earn this Achievement. 180s, or 3:00 minutes, is more time than you think. Fast Travel to Tirith Mesas & find a Caragor to mount during the daytime; Slaves spawn less during the night. With the Caragor, ride into Celon Poros through the pass into the Cape of Nurn, East through Watcher’s Landing then back around to Celon Poros – this is the circuit.

As we ride, look for Slaves & ride into the Uruks overseeing them; you do not actually have to kill the Uruks for the Slaves to flee & be “liberated”. There is a counter in the corner that will give you Xp when the Slaves start running away so you will know if they have been liberated or not.
Sequence 12: Death Above Life
1. Sea of Núrnen & Udûn
2. Main Missions: N/A
3. Urfael Legend Missions: 9/10
4. Achievements: 46/74
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sea of Núrnen & Udûn:
As of now, we will have completed all Main Missions. To unlock Main Mission – Lord of Mordor, we must Brand all 5 Warchiefs of Núrnen. This gives us the perfect opportunity to complete some of our Captain/Warchief based Achievements. Note that these can be highly opportunistic & will rely on your Captains/Warchiefs having specific traits. If need be, travel to Udûn for better opportunities or continually Advance Time to spawn new Uruk Captains to fill in the ones you have killed.

Achievement #40 – Iron of Death: Issue a Death Threat, & then successfully kill the target.
Purchase the Death Threat Ability & find a Worm or Uruk Captain to Dominate; they can technically be an already Branded Uruk Captain as well. Dominate them & issue a Death Threat on another Captain or on a Warchief. Track down who you delivered the threat to & make good on the promise. The Achievement will unlock after you deal the killing blow; we cannot Brand/Dominate them for this Achievement, the Uruk under the Death Threat must be killed.

Achievement #41 – A Graug’s Heel: Capitalize on a Warchief's Fear.
Before we go killing Warchiefs, use Worms to reveal their Weaknesses & Strengths. Pay attention to Warchiefs’s who have Fears such as Morgai Flys, Caragors, Graug’s, Fire, etc. To earn this Achievement, we have to kill a Warchief while they are Retreating due to their Fear. Draw out the Warchief, & enact their Fear to cause them to Retreat; kill them while they run to unlock the Achievement. We cannot Dominate/Brand the Warchief for the Achievement, they must be killed.

If no current Warchief’s have Fears, we can have one our Branded Uruk Captains ascend to Warchief status & kill them instead while they are Retreating…

Achievement #42 – Stinking Rebels: Brand 5 Bodyguards of a Warchief, turning them against him in combat.
For our next Warchief, we need to employ 5 Branded Uruk Captains as Bodyguards. If you have been making an attempt to Brand most Uruk Captains, then this will not be too difficult… Choose a Warchief target & Command our Branded Uruk Captains to Initiate themselves into becoming a Bodyguard. Complete the corresponding Uruk Mission.

Once the chosen Warchief has at least 5 of our Branded Bodyguards in their service, it will be time to lure them out. Make sure that none of the Branded Bodyguards have current Uruk Missions, or they will not appear when the Warchief is lured out! You will need to complete these prior to attacking the Warchief…

When the Warchief arrives with at least 5 Branded Bodyguards, activate them to attack the Warchief & we will unlock this Achievement; you are then free to Dominate or kill the Warchief.

Achievement #43 – The Spirit of Mordor: Start a Riot by commanding a Warchief to attack another Warchief.
Once you have at least one Branded Warchief, Dominate them & Command them to cause a Riot by attacking another Warchief. As soon as we do this, we will unlock this Achievement.

Udûn:

Achievement #44 – Rise & Fall: After an Uruk kills you to become a Captain, help him become a Warchief, then kill him.
This Achievement can be potentially easier done in Udûn, but of course can still be done here in the Sea of Núrnen but only if we have not Branded all of the Warchiefs yet. To start, we need to get ourselves killed by any random Uruk; when we die, they will be promoted to an Uruk Captain.

Seek out this new Uruk Captain now & Brand him so he is one of ours then Command him to Initiate himself into a Warchiefs service (it cannot be any of our Branded ones which is why Udûn is a bit easier) & complete the Uruk Mission. As soon as the Mission finishes, grab your Uruk Captain & now Command him to Betray his Warchief.

Enter the Mission & help the Uruk Captain kill the Warchief to be promoted to his position. Be careful of the Warchiefs other Bodyguards if he has some as they may kill your Uruk Captain. If your chosen Branded Uruk Captain is the one to initiate the Betray Mission, & does not die, they should take the Warchiefs place. Now we need to kill the new Warchief – ideally, he is still on the field & you can just attack him after the Betray Mission, if not you will need to summon him to the field & kill him then. After killing the Warchief we took from a regular Uruk Grunt to Warchief, we will unlock this Achievement.

Achievement #45 – No Power In Numbers: Help a Captain survive a Recruitment Power Struggle, & then kill him & all his new recruits.
In either Udûn or Núrnen, Advance Time & look on your Map for one of your Branded Uruk Captains to have a Recruitment Mission. Help them complete it, & once they finish: kill all his new Branded recruits, & then the Captain himself.

This is easiest done when you have the Tier 5 Dispatch Ability, but it isn’t necessary. Make sure to kill all of his recruits, before killing the Captain; killing them with headshots in Focus is a quick way to do so. After the Captain is dead (with all his new recruits dead) the Achievement should unlock.

Achievement #46 – Burning Vengeance: Perform an Execution on a flaming Berserker.
The scenario can provide itself at random, but the easiest method is to find a Berserker near a campfire; a campfire can be found just below the Black Road Forge Tower & you can keep Fast Travelling to it to reset the Uruks around it until a Berserker is there. It can also be a Branded Uruk Berserker. Work your Combo multiplier up then throw the Uruk Berserker through the fire, & quickly follow up to perform a Combat Execution on them.

An easier method you can employ is using the Storm of Urfael Ability to instantly give yourself 20s of infinite Combat Finisher uses; it can be purchased for 2500 Mirian or gained by equipping the DLC Rune Rising Storm. Find an Uruk Berserker near a campfire, get close to him then activate the Storm of Urfael Ability. Once it is active, quickly throw the Berserker into the campfire & immediately follow up with a Combat Finisher to unlock the Achievement.
Sequence 13: The Lord of Mordor
1. Sea of Núrnen: Fort Morn, Harad Basin
2. Udûn: Ered Glamhoth
3. Main Missions: Lord of Mordor, Mordor In Flames
4. Urfael Legend Missions: 10/10
5. Achievements: 51/74
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Udûn & Sea of Núrnen:

Achievement #47 – A Mighty Doom: Acquire a Level 25 Rune.
This Achievement will take some setup to accomplish; it is extremely easy to unlock during the Brightlord DLC however as the base Uruk Level cap has been increased from Level 20 to Level 30 & can be saved for until then…

We need to get a Level 25 Rune from killing an Uruk Captain/Warchief; they cannot be Branded, or rather, it will potentially be harder to do if they are. It is very important who you decide to select for your “Rune candidate” as they need to have an exploitable Weakness like Fears (Burnining, Morgai Flies, Caragors, etc) or Vulnerabilities (Stealth Finishers, Combat Finishers, etc).

When you have found a suitable Uruk, we now need to raise them up to their maximum Level which is 20; let them kill you a bunch of times or Advance Time to have them keep completing Uruk Missions. Having less of the current Uruk Captains identified will increase the odds of your desired Uruk getting more Missions to complete. If the Uruk is already a Warchief, they will not have any Uruk Missions to complete & the only way to Level them is by having them killing you. To get your Uruk Captain to become a Warchief, they need to naturally be one’s Bodyguard. Kill all other Bodyguards, lure out the Warchief & kill them, & that Uruk Captain should take his place; do not kill him yet.

Base Uruks/Runes will only go up to Level 20. To go from Level 20 to 25 we need these conditions to apply:
Warchief (+2 Bonus)
Know Their Weaknesses/Strengths (+1 Bonus)
Revenge Target for killing us (+1 Bonus)
Exploit a weakness during combat (+1 Bonus)

Lure out your Warchief after they have killed you at least once, & kill them using an exploited Weakness or when one of their Fears have activated & you should receive a Level 25 Rune & unlock this Achievement.

Level 25 Rune & Death Threats: Death Threats can jump start an Uruks Power Level, but it will almost guarantee the odds of getting an Epic Rune which do not have Levels & will therefore not count for the Achievement… but only if we are the ones to kill them. If a Branded Uruk Captain kills the Death Threat target instead, the Death Threat will not activate. If you are choosing this option to boost your Rune target’s Level, make sure you Initiate at least 3-5 Branded Uruks as Bodyguards to guarantee at least one of them will have a chance of killing the target.

Tier 5 Abilities: To access our final Urfael Legend Mission, we need to purchase the Dispatch Ability which is Tier 5. Ideally, you have reached this point as we have been killing Uruk Captains/Warchiefs & completing Uruk Missions. If not, continue to wipe out or Brand high Level Uruk Captains/Warchiefs to earn enough Power to reach Tier 5…

Sea of Núrnen – Fort Morn:

Urfael Legend Mission #10 – Power of the One: Purchase the Dispatch Ability, & we will unlock our final Urfael Legend Mission. For this Mission, we need to Brand Uruks & have them kill at least 10 enemies. After this happens, we will be tasked with killing all Branded Uruks; be careful, & do not use Dispatch, as this will also kill any of our Branded Uruk Captains in the area!

Do not use Dispatch at all, & instead just manually kill all of the Uruks you specifically Branded during this Mission!

Achievement #48 – Fire of Justice: Complete all 10 Urfael Legend Missions.
We will unlock this Achievement after completing our final Urfael Legend Mission. There are 5 Missions in Udûn & 5 in the Sea of Núrnen. After purchasing the Dispatch Ability, we will have access to all of the Missions.

Sea of Núrnen:

Achievement #49 – Lord & Master: Brand all 5 Warchiefs.
Story Related. With as many of the previous Achievements unlocked as you could, go around the Sea of Núrnen & Brand all remaining Warchiefs or replace them with Branded Uruk Captains.

Only the Sea of Núrnen Warchiefs count for this Achievement, not the Warchiefs back in Udûn.

Udûn – Ered Glamhoth:

Main Mission #20 – Lord of Mordor: As of now, we will have unlocked our next Main Mission, Lord of Mordor. Travel to the Mission start in Watcher’s Landing, & we will sail out to launch an assault on the Tower’s stronghold at Ered Glamhoth. Our Branded Warchiefs from the Sea of Núrnen will accompany us; they can die, so be mindful of that. Unfortunately, their Bodyguards will not come with them. With the help of the Warchiefs, kill your arch Uruk Captain nemesis (or a random one if the game can’t decide who that is) & track down the Tower…

Achievement #50 – The Tower Crumbles: Kill the Tower.
Story Related. To defeat the Tower, we need to search around the stronghold & perform a Stealth Drain on his avatars; do this only 3 times, & he will be defeated. Locate the Tower one final time & kill him to unlock this Achievement.

Sea of Núrnen – Harad Basin:

Main Mission #21 – Mordor In Flames: As of now, we will have access to the final Main Mission of the game. We have post game free roam after we beat the game; no Achievement is missable by beating the game. Head to the Main Mission start… & we will be forced to return to where it all began.

Udûn:

Main Mission #21 – Mordor In Flames: Rush towards the Black Gate, & we will be joined by 5 of our Branded Uruk Captains & Warchiefs from Udûn. Barring our way, will be 5 unique Uruk Captains called the Talons of the Hand.

Achievement #51 – The Hand Is Severed: Kill the Black Hand.
Story Related. With the Talons of the Hand defeated, climb up the Black Gate & face down the Black Hand… unfortunately, we will be robbed of an epic boss fight. Slay the Black Hand, & Talion will have his resolve steeled, our sights have now been set on stopping the Dark Lord himself. The time has come, for a new Ring…

68% Complete
Sequence 14: The Bright Lord
1. Udûn: Barrows of Udûn, Durthang Wastes, The Black Road, Southern Udûn Pass
2. Forge Towers: 4/4
3. Achievements: 57/74
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DLC Breakdown – The Bright Lord: (10)
Story Related: (3)
Secondary Objectives: (3)
Slay: (3)
Captains & Warchiefs: (1)

This DLC will take place prior to Shadow of Mordor when Celebrimbor uses the One Ring to Brand an Uruk army to face Sauron with; it can be accessed from the Play tab of the Main Menu where we can select our Game Mode. Note that there is no Achievement for the War Letter Collectible found in this DLC – it is optional.

Udûn – Barrows of Udûn:

DLC Mission #1 – The Bright Lord: Defeat the initial force of 10 Uruks, & we will then need to Brand 12 Uruks to control the Barrows of Udûn region.

During this Mission, we will see a Tutorial for how to use the new Shadow Brand Ability; for the Burning Shadow Achievement we need to Brand 20 Uruks using this Ability.

Branding 12 Uruks will lure out the Thrakrak Black-Thorn, who controls the Barrows of Udûn. Kill or Dominate him & we will complete the Mission.

Achievement #52 – The Scouring of Mordor: Challenge the Dark Lord in Mordor.
Story Related. Complete the first DLC Mission – The Bright Lord, & we will unlock this Achievement.

Forge Tower #1: Story Related. When we defeat Thrakrak Black-Thorn, we will obtain our first Forge Tower.

Udûn – Durthang Wastes:

Forge Tower #2 – Petty Minds: Unlike in the Base Game, we need to defeat specific Uruk Captains around Udûn to create Forge Towers & reveal our Map. For this Mission, we need to Brand 15 Uruks without being detected to lure out the regional Uruk Captain. This can be tricky, but be patient; using Shadow Brand makes this a lot easier. If you are running low on Arrows, be sure to Drain your Branded Uruks to replenish them to be able to keep using Shadow Brand.

With the 15 Uruks Branded, get up to the vantage point, & Snagog the Diseased will arrive; kill or Brand them to claim this Forge Tower.

Udûn – The Black Road:

Forge Tower #3 – Tools For the Task: For our next Forge Tower Mission, we will need to defend a Trebuchet being attacked by Uruks & have to Brand at least 7 of them. Using the Wraith Blast Brand is a quick way of doing this. After 7 Uruks are Branded at the Trebuchet, we then need to go defend a Battering Ram & Brand another 7 Uruks.

With this done, we now need to defend both war machines for 2:00 minutes. Cycle back & forth between the two making sure to top up your Branded Uruks defending them; Shadow Brand is a great way to get between the two.

After 2:00 minutes has passed, the Uruk Captain Bûbol the Gentle will arrive; kill him to retake this Forge Tower. Bûbol is a Combat Master which will make it impossible to Brand him unless you are lucky & he drops down for a final dialogue (where you can choose to kill or Dominate him).

Achievement #53 – Burning Shadow: Shadow Brand 20 Uruks.
This will come through natural progression as we beat this DLC as Shadow Brand is a great way to cover distance while also Branding Uruks. Simply Brand 20 Uruks using the Shadow Brand Ability over the course of the DLC, & we will unlock this Achievement.

Udûn – Southern Udûn Pass:

Forge Tower #4 – Press the Advantage: This is a very important Mission in this DLC as it is a great way to earn two Achievements that are much harder to unlock in free roam. The Uruks here are infinitely spawning, & we need to Brand at least 15 of them to continue… After we Brand 15 we then need to hold out & keep our Branded Uruks above 10 which means we will be constantly Branding Uruks to keep up: Wraith Flash Dominate is the easiest way to do this.

Achievement #54 – The Silver Fist: Brand 20 Uruks in 60s.
The best possible time to earn this Achievement is through Forge Tower Mission – Press the Advantage as we will be surrounded by infinite Uruks. Since you have endless Uruks & are forced to Brand as many as you can this is the perfect time to try for this Achievement.

Use your own Branded Uruks to attack to build up your Combo for Wraith Flash so that it will open up more Uruks to spawn if they are killed & not cause you to accidentally kill unbranded ones.

If you do not earn this Achievement during the Mission, we will have to try to earn it naturally in free roam; traveling to any Stronghold & sounding the Alarm should give you a good supply of Uruks to Brand.

Achievement #55 – Dominion: Wraith Flash Dominate 50 Uruks.
This is pretty easy to earn as you attempt The Silver Fist Achievement. This will come naturally as we beat the DLC otherwise; just always make an attempt to use Wraith Flash Dominate when you have a high Combo.

Achievement #56 – From Shadow to Shadow: Stealth Brand a Captain.
Once again, Forge Tower Mission – Press the Advantage is the best way to earn this Achievement as the Uruk Captain that arrives will always be Vulnerable to Stealth Finishers. Maintain your Branded Uruk army above 10 Uruks for 2:00 minutes, & when the timer drops to around 15s (& you have more than enough Branded Uruks that will survive) quickly flee up to a high point or some bushes & lose aggro so we are out of combat & hidden. I recommend getting on top of the ruins at the Southeastern end of the Mission area as that is close to where the Uruk Captain will spawn.

Mozfel Quick-Blades will arrive & will always be Vulnerable to Stealth Finishers which makes him a guaranteed target for this Achievement; of course, we can’t perform a Stealth Finisher in combat. Get above him or stay undetected getting behind him, & perform a Stealth Brand on him to instantly Brand him & unlock the Achievement. If he detects us, there is a small chance we may be able to get away to hide again to be able to attempt another Stealth Brand on him otherwise you may want to restart the Mission.

If you beat this Mission before unlocking this Achievement (or accidentally killed Mozfel Quick-Blades) then we will have to earn this Achievement in free roam. With no other guaranteed targets, you will be forced to identify & kill Uruk Captains until one spawns with the Vulnerability to Stealth Finishers Weakness… Not impossible but it can take quite a while.

Achievement #57 – Eregion Reforged: Build all 4 Forge Towers in Udûn.
Story Related. Complete all 4 Forge Tower Missions & fully reveal the Map of Udûn to unlock this Achievement.
Sequence 15: The Betrayer
1. Udûn: Barrows of Udûn, Udûn Crossing, East Garrison, Uruk’s Hollow
2. One Ring Missions: 4/4
3. Achievements: 59/74
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Udûn – Barrows of Udûn:

One Ring Mission #1 – Silver Persuasion: With all Forge Towers conquered, we will have unlocked all 4 One Ring Missions. This first one can be found in the Barrows of Udûn. For this Mission, we will have 2:00 minutes to Brand 9 Uruk Archers in the area; use Shadow Brand & Drain your recently Branded Archer to replenish your Arrows if you need to. Once the Uruk Archers are all Branded, 13 Uruk Berserkers will arrive. Kill/Brand them all…

Udûn – Udûn Crossing:

One Ring Mission #2 – Strength In Numbers: For this Mission, we must defend the Forge Tower for 3:00 minutes; keep Branding Uruks to assist you in the defence. Though less ideal, we can use this Mission to attempt The Silver Fist Achievement due to the high amounts of Uruks.

At around the 1:00 minute mark, a Graug will arrive but we can use Shadow Mount to instantly Brand it onto our side.

One Ring Mission #3 – Shoddy Construction: For this Mission, we need to kill or Brand the 7 marked Uruks. With that done, we need to command our Branded Uruks to destroy two Cranes. Defend them, & Brand more Uruks for your army while they do this.

Udûn – East Garrison:

One Ring Mission #4 – Don’t Shoot the Messenger: For this Mission, we need to quickly Brand the 10 fleeing Uruk Messengers before they escape. They fortunately are all running the same direction down the Black Road. Quickly use Shadow Brand on the front most Uruks, Drain them for more Arrows, & work backwards through the Messengers as they approach us. The Uruk Messengers will also not engage in combat, & if you can get behind them, we are able to Stealth Brand them instantly.

With the Uruk Messengers Branded, we must now destroy 7 marked Grog Barrel stacks in under 2:00 minutes.

Achievement #58 – Battle Forged: Maximize the power of the Ring by completing all 4 of the One Ring Missions.
Complete all 4 of the One Ring Missions, & we will increase the duration of the One Ring Ability as well as unlock this Achievement.

Udûn – Barrows of Udûn:
The initial 5 Warchiefs of the Brightlord DLC are all Story Related. If you end up accidentally killing one instead of Branding them, you will then need to Brand the new randomly generated Uruk Captain that will have taken their place (if it isn’t already Branded).

Most Warchiefs will have a host of Bodyguards protecting them; if you are pro-active, you can seek out these Bodyguards & Brand or kill them before luring out their Warchief ahead of time.

Warchief Mission #1 – Lawless Disorder: Akoth the Vile currently controls the Barrows of Udûn region. To draw him out, we need to cause Branded Uruks to kill at least 50 enemies in under 4:00 minutes. Enter into Durthang Stronghold, & sound the Alarm to have a good supply of Uruks to Brand & kill.

Udûn – Southern Udûn Pass:

Warchief Mission #2 – Servants In Chains: Rûg the Crafty currently controls the Southern Udûn Pass region. To draw him out, we need to enter into the Uruk’s Hollow Stronghold & rescue 5 of our captured Branded Uruks.

Udûn – East Garrison:

Warchief Mission #3 – Hearts & Minds: Skak Raid Leader currently controls the East Garrison region. To draw him out, we need Brand 10 of the marked Uruks without raising the Stronghold’s Alarm; we can be detected.

Udûn – Barrows of Udûn:

Warchief Mission #4 – The Dark Lord Answers: For this next Warchief Mission, we will have to face the remaining two Warchiefs at once – they are Tûmhorn Evil Eye & Gorfel the Massive. Our 3 Branded Warchiefs will be captured by the enemy & we must rescue them (it is possible for them to die during this Mission). Quickly Brand or kill the marked enemy Uruks, & deal with the remaining enemies afterwards.

Rescue our Branded Warchiefs & we will need to hold out for 2:00 minutes to lure out the final two enemy Warchiefs for us to Brand. Stick close to your Warchiefs, & build up as large of a Branded Uruk army as you can before they arrive…

Udûn – Uruk’s Hollow:

DLC Mission #2 – The True Lord of the Rings: With all 5 of Udûn’s Warchiefs now Branded, we can now challenge the Dark Lord in open combat. Head to Uruk’s Hollow, & begin the Mission where we will be joined by our loyal Warchiefs. This is a point of no return for this DLC! Do not access this Mission unless you have unlocked all previous Achievements! Otherwise, you will have to restart the DLC from the beginning…

Face Sauron in the epic boss battle fight we deserved from the Base Game; using the One Ring to give us 20s of infinite Combat Finishers is an easy way to defeat him.

Achievement #59 – Betrayed: The One Ring has returned to it's Maker.
Story Related. During the fight with Sauron, he will show us the real mastery behind the One Ring. After killing them the first time, Sauron will revive our dead Warchiefs to fight us once again; killing them is optional. If you are able to recharge the One Ring Ability a second time, you can bull rush Sauron’s health & kill him without needing to fight the other Warchiefs a second time…

Defeat Sauron… or be defeated I guess… & we will complete the Bright Lord campaign.
Sequence 16: Test of the Ring
1. Main Objectives: Kill all 5 Warchiefs & all 12 Captains
2. Bonus Objectives: Brand 8 Captains or Warchiefs, Brand 50 Uruk Grunts, complete the Trial in under 60:00 minutes
3. Achievements: 61/74
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the Trials of War tab in your Main Menu, we can find the Bright Lord DLC’s Test of the Ring. There are two Achievements we can only earn while playing it; completing all the Trials Objectives & obtaining a Level 30 Rune. I would suggest doing these in two separate runs… We can also earn all non-Mission related Achievements for the DLC during the Test of the Ring Trial as well.

Achievement #60 – Beyond Epic: Get a Level 30 Rune in Test of the Ring.
The prerequisites for this Achievement are the exact same as for the A Mighty Doom Achievement in the Base Game however base Uruk Levels have increased from Level 20 to Level 25.

The perquisites for boosting a Rune beyond Level 25 are:
1. Warchief (+2 Bonus)
2. Weaknesses/Strengths known (+1 Bonus)
3. Revenge Target (+1 Bonus)
4. Exploited a Weakness or Fear during combat (+1 Bonus)

Unfortunately, we are unable to Command Uruk Captains which will make things a bit harder to do since we cannot force Branded Uruks to become Bodyguards; because we will not have Branded Uruks as back up for the fight to kill the Warchief, this also means that using Death Threat is no longer a viable strategy as if we kill a Warchief under a Death Threat we will receive an Epic Rune. Further more, the starter Bright Lord Warchiefs do not have Fears & are not great candidates for the Level 30 Rune. This means, you will want to kill all of the Warchiefs right away so that you can Advance Time to have other Uruk Captains replace them (ideally Unbranded); this is highly luck based as you need an Uruk Captain who has a good Fear become Warchief. It is possible to attempt this on a Branded Warchief, but they still must have an exploitable Fear as well as have already previously killed you to become a Revenge Target. I recommend holding off on Branding any Uruk Captains until a viable candidate has become Warchief.

You basically have one shot to obtain your Level 30 Rune as, once you lure out the Warchief for your attempt & if it does not go as planned, you will have to go back & start from scratch to raise up a new candidate Warchief.

There are however two potential strategies for earning this Achievement & it is mostly a matter of what happens first. Branded Bodyguards are still technically possible, but it is a lot more luck based & requires Advancing Time often.

The Long Strategy: To start, you will want to use Worms to gain Intel on all 5 Warchiefs; you could also Brand a single Uruk Captain as well & constantly track him down to Dominate/gain Intel on the Warchiefs & other Uruk Captains if that is easier. Next you will want to go around & kill all 5 Warchiefs so that new Uruk’s can take their place; I also recommend killing any Uruk Captains that do not have an easy exploitable Fear as well to reduce the chances of them ascending to Warchief.

Once the Warchiefs are dead (& any non-compatible Uruk Captains) you will want to Advance Time so that Uruk Captains take the place of the Warchiefs & new potential Uruk Captain candidates spawn. If you are lucky, you may already have a good candidate that you can premeditatively ascend to Warchief. If not, you may have to cycle through a few Warchiefs before a good one ascends.

Once you have a good Warchief candidate with an exploitable Fear, you will now need to make sure they are Level 25; though tedious, luring them out & having them keep killing you is the best way & will also mark them as a Revenge Target.

When you are ready, make sure that all their Uruk Bodyguards are dead, then lure out the Warchief. You MUST trigger their Fear before you kill them, or you will only receive a Level 24 Rune & have to start all over again.

The Alternate Strategy: There is the potential to still make use of the Death Threat exploit, but it will require a little bit more set up. While we cannot Command Branded Uruks to become Bodyguards, since we will be Advancing Time, Uruk Captains will be shuffling around & there is a chance that new Warchiefs will gain Bodyguards as the Uruk Captains complete Power Struggles. If you see that your candidate Warchief has naturally obtained Bodyguards, I recommend Branding all of them if possible. This is still risky, as ideally you want as many Branded Bodyguards present as possible, but if you have at least 3+ you can follow through with a Death Threat to the target Warchief; then you just have to let one of them deliver the final blow to earn your guaranteed Level 30 Rune. Unless they are quite powerful with powerful Strengths, having under 3 Branded Bodyguards is pretty risky to attempt the Death Threat strat with.

Achievement #61 – Lord of the Ring: Complete all Objectives in the Test of the Ring.
It is very important to note that any Runes obtained during the Base Game will import over to the Test of the Ring; if you need better Runes, grind them out in free roam for the Base Game in Udûn or the Sea of Núrnen. Runes earned in the Bright Lord DLC Campaign do not carry over, however all Runes earned playing the Test of the Ring are permanent & will carry over across your runs of it. Runes collected during the Trials also carry over into the Base Game Campaign as well…

For this Achievement we have to complete all Objectives in the Test of the Ring.

These objectives are:
1. Kill all 5 Warchiefs
2. Kill 12 Captains
3. Brand 8 Uruk Captains or Warchiefs while playing through the Trial
4. Brand at least 50 Uruk Grunts while playing through the Trial
5. Finish the Trial within 60:00 minutes

The hardest part about this is the time limit, we only have one hour to do all of this. We need to have all 5 Warchiefs killed as well as 12/20 Uruk Captains; we also need to Brand 8 Warchiefs or Captains across the Trial. They do not need to remain alive after being Branded for them to count.

Start by locating Worms/Uruk Captains to Dominate to identify the 5 Warchiefs, then go to their Missions & kill them. Branding Warchiefs is a waste of time, as they cannot be Commanded & we must have all 5 of them dead as a Main Objective. If you end up Branding one, you need to immediately kill them afterwards. If it can be helped, Dominate the Warchief’s Bodyguards while they are lured out to gain Intel on the other Warchiefs or more Uruk Captains.

To quickly dispatch a Warchief in combat, try always having a full charge of your One Ring Ability on hand. In between/during fighting the Warchiefs, Brand as many Uruks as you can to recharge the One Ring. This will also help you towards the 50 Grunt Uruks Branded Objective as well. Between destinations & during Uruk Missions scan around in Wraith Vision. If you spot any Uruk Captains, kill or Brand them.

After all 5 of the Warchiefs are dead, run around killing or Branding the last Captains. Using Caragors or Fast Travelling will help getting around the map faster. Try not to die if you can help it; it is faster running away & grabbing Herbs to heal then dying & potentially having more Uruk Captains spawn or existing ones becoming Warchiefs. Look for Uruk Missions that have two Captains in them like Ambush, Execution, or Duel to save yourself a lot of time – two birds with one stone kind of thinking.

Sequence 17: Lord of the Hunt
1. Sea of Núrnen: Thang Talath, Cape of Nurn, Harad Basin, Cab -Gwanath Bluff, Tirth Mesas
2. Hunter Legend Missions: 3/5
3. Achievements: 65/74
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DLC Breakdown – Lord of the Hunt: (13)
Story Related: (2)
Secondary Objectives: (2)
Slay: (7)
Captains & Warchiefs: (2)

This is the final DLC Campaign from Shadow of Mordor & can be accessed through the Play tab of our Main Menu. The Lord of the Hunt DLC takes place after the events of the Shadow of Mordor Campaign… Like in the Bright Lord DLC, collecting all of Torvin’s Journals in the Sea of Núrnen is optional & do not have an associated Achievement.

Note that a lot of Achievements in this DLC are very specific, but can be earned easily during certain Missions. Trying to earn them “naturally” in free roam or in the Test of the Wild Trial can be much more challenging!

Sea of Núrnen – Thang Talath:

DLC Mission #1 – Lord of the Hunt: Follow Torvin & we will be introduced to the Caragath beast type unique to this DLC – stealthy Caragors basically. Shadow Mount the Caragath, & head to the Uruk camp where we will need to kill the 5 marked Uruk Hunters.

For the Jaws of Shadow Achievement we need to Stealth Kill 25 Uruks using a Caragath, so keep that in mind as we play.

Achievement #62 – A Short Introduction: Begin a new hunt with Torvin.
Story Related. Clear out the marked Uruk Hunters & return back to Torvin to complete our first DLC Mission, & unlock this Achievement.

Achievement #63 – I Had to Put Him Down: Kill a Caragath with an Execution.
After we complete the introductory DLC Mission, we will be mounted on a Caragath; simply kill it while mounted using Kill Mount to unlock the Achievement. Caragaths are very common during this DLC, & we can earn this Achievement quite easily by Shadow Mounting & Executing them.

Sea of Núrnen – Cape of Nurn:

Hunter Legend Mission #1 – From Hunter to Hunted: Ignore our DLC Missions for now, & Fast Travel to the Cape of Nurn Forge Tower where we can commence our first Hunter Legend Mission. For this Mission, while mounted on a Caragath, we need to clear out three Uruk camps of all Uruk Hunters.

Sea of Núrnen – Harad Basin:

DLC Mission #2 – Swift Tracking: Chase after Torvin to an Uruk camp in Cab-Gwanath Bluff, & kill all the Uruks here. Clear out the camp, & we will have to quickly track down the Uruks who stole Torvin’s blasting powder. Ride to the cave system to the West of the Núrnen Peninsula, then ride to find more thieves in Ethir Poros. Completing this DLC Mission will reveal the identity of one of the Núrnen Warchiefs…

Achievement #64 – Jaws of Shadow: Complete 25 Caragath Stealth Kills.
As we playthrough the DLC, make a point of mounting & travelling around on Caragaths. When possible, kill Uruks using Stealth Kills with the Caragath & we will earn this Achievement at some point during our playthrough.

Sea of Núrnen – Cab-Gwanath Bluff:

DLC Mission #3 – Unwarranted Aggression: Travel to Cab-Gwanath Bluff, & Torvin will introduce us to new Wretched Graugs. Attack the Uruk execution party, then shoot down the Wretched Graug Bait to lure one in. Shadow Mount it, & use the Graug to clear out the rest of the incoming Uruks.

Completing this DLC Mission will reveal the identity of one of the Núrnen Warchiefs…

When this Mission ends, we will be mounted on a Wretched Graug. To take use of this, feel free to track down an Uruk Captain in free roam & Vomit on them as well as eat them for two separate Achievements…

Hunter Legend Mission #2 – Heaving Rampage: With a DLC Mission completed, we will gain access to this new Hunter Legend Mission. For this Mission, we will once again mount a Wretched Graug; kill 70 Uruks to complete this Mission. Projectile Vomit is the Wretched Graug’s best attack, but it will drain our health when we use it; make sure to occasionally eat Uruks to keep the Graug’s health topped up.

Sea of Núrnen – Tirith Mesas:

Hunter Legend Mission #3 – Belching Monstrosity: For this Mission, we need to kill 20 Uruk Archers while mounted on a Wretched Graug using Projectile Vomit. Like the previous Hunter Legend Mission, keep an eye on your Graug’s health & eat Uruks when it gets too low.

DLC Mission #4 – Matrons Rising: This is a very important Mission for Achievements as it is a guaranteed spawn for a Ghûl Matron needed for an Achievement. This Mission will give us a Tutorial for how to Bait Ghûl Mounds as well which is also needed for an Achievement…

To complete this Mission, we are forced Bait Ghûl Mounds & kill 3 Ghûl Matrons. Completing this DLC Mission will reveal the identity of one of the Núrnen Warchiefs…

Achievement #65 – Hot Flashes: Catch a Ghûl Matron on fire during the Lord of the Hunt Campaign.
DLC Mission – Matrons Rising is the most ideal time to earn this Achievement as we have three guaranteed Ghûl Matron spawns. When a Ghûl Matron spawns, lure it over to a campfire or a Grog Barrel to Detonate to catch it on fire & unlock this Achievement. Alternatively, you can also build a Combo & strike them with a Fire Arrow as well.

This Mission trivializes the Achievement as if you do not earn it now, you will have to manually lure a Ghûl Matron in free roam by having Ghûls retreat & return. Search for roaming Ghûls at night time; a good place is in open areas like the Harad Basin, Watcher’s Landing, & Celon Poros. Kill only a few Ghûls so that they retreat underground. When they return, a Ghûl Matron may spawn; if not, kill a couple more Ghûls so they go back underground. Rinse & repeat until a Ghûl Matron arrives to blast with a Fire Arrow unless a Grog Barrel or campfire is more readily available.
Sequence 18: Beast-Masters of Núrnen
1. Sea of Núrnen: Cab -Gwanath Bluff, Fort Morn, Núrnen Peninsula, Thang Talath
2. Hunter Legend Missions: 4/5
3. Achievements: 70/74
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sea of Núrnen – Cab-Gwanath Bluff:

Warchief #1 – Call of the Caragath: Now it will be time for us to track down & kill our first Warchief, Tûmhorn Beast Tamer. Stealth Kill 5 of the marked Uruks using our Caragath without raising the Alarm to lure out the Warchief; we can be detected.

Tûmhorn can be a bit challenging, but can be easily overwhelmed using Branded Uruks.

Sea of Núrnen – Fort Morn:

Warchief #2 – No Rest For the Wretched: Our next Warchief to kill will be Zûgor Beast Butcher; we will be mounted on a Wretched Graug for this Mission making it perfect for earning some Achievements!

To lure out the Warchief, we need to hit 20 Uruk Archers using Projectile Vomit; be very sure to keep up on maintain your Graug’s health by eating Uruks during this Mission!

Achievement #66 – Wretched Retch: Use a Wretched Graug's Projectile Vomit on an Uruk Captain or Warchief.
When Zûgor Beast Butcher he should have 2-4 Bodyguards accompanying him; approach the Warchief or any of the Uruk Captains & hit them with Projectile Vomit to earn this Achievement.

To earn this in free roam, it is best having all of the Uruk Captain’s of Núrnen identified so we can track them down. Find a Wretched Graug, or Bait one, & Shadow Mount it; track down an Uruk Captain & Projectile Vomit on them to earn the Achievement.

Achievement #67 – Nom Nom Nom!: Eat a Captain with a Wretched Graug.
After we Projectile Vomit on Zûgor Beast Butcher or one of his Bodyguards, we now need to eat one of them with our Wretched Graug; be very careful as if any of them Hate Graugs it will void our attempt. Eat one of the Uruk Captains & we will unlock this Achievement; we cannot grab a downed Uruk so you need to wait for them to stand back up to attempt to eat them again. Most Uruk Captains can be instantly killed if we try to eat them with the Wretched Graug; this is extremely important to note for the Test of the Wild Trial…

If our Graug dies, or we do not attempt this Achievement during this Mission then we once again need to attempt this in free roam. Like the previous Achievement, having all of the Uruk Captains identified will make tracking one down easier.

Sea of Núrnen – Núrnen Peninsula:

Warchief #3 – Stronghold Uprising: Our next Warchief to kill will be Ûgakûga Graug Rider; to draw out this Warchief, we will need to Bait 3 Ghûl Mounds. With the Ghûls summoned, we need them to kill 10 Uruks; Ghûl Matrons may spawn as well in case you still need to light one on fire for the Hot Flashes Achievement.

Ûgakûga Graug Rider will arrive… riding on a Wretched Graug as his name implies; the Wretched Graug’s name is Stompy... When he is lured out, we will see the Tutorial for how to stun Wretched Graugs using a double Headshot & Ghûls. Kill Stompy, & we can then fight Ûgakûga on foot.

Achievement #68 – Rattle the Hive: Bait 10 Ghul Mounds.
We will earn the bulk of this Achievement during the DLC Mission – Matron Rising as well as a few during the previous Warchief Mission. In free roam, search around Núrnen (at night is better but we can find Ghûl Mounds during the day) & shoot them to summon Ghûls. Bait 10 Ghûl Mounds to earn this Achievement.

Sea of Núrnen – Fort Morn:

Warchief #4 – Blasted Uruks!: Our next Warchief to kill will be Ashgarn Smuggler. To lure out Ashgarn, we need to ride out on our Caragath & the 10 Uruk Couriers before they reach their destination. The Uruk Couriers will spawn in two groups of 3, with the final group having 4 Uruk Couriers. Simply clip them with an Arrow on any part of their body to kill them instantly.

Once all 10 Uruk Courier are killed, Ashgarn Smuggler will arrive on his own Caragath; his Bodyguards will have Caragaths as well.

Sea of Núrnen – Thang Talath:

DLC Mission #5 – Hypocritical Oath: With Ashgarn Smuggler dead & the blasting powder secured, we will unlock our next DLC Mission over in Thang Talath. We will learn that the final Warchief is able to control Ghûls, & to combat that… we will control Ghûls ourselves with the new Dominate Ghûls Ability.

Using Wraith Burn, we can now Brand Ghûls to fight for us; Brand 45 of them, & then hold out against the Ghûl horde (Branding even more of them) to complete the Mission.

Achievement #69 – O Mother, Where Art Thou?: Have 20 Ghûls Branded at one time.
We can very easily earn this Achievement during DLC Mission – Hypocritical Oath. In fact if you do not earn it, I recommend restarting the Mission before it finishes as this can be a lot trickier to earn in free roam. With how many Ghûls that get thrown at us during this Mission, we are close to guaranteed to earn it unless you are killing your Branded Ghûls too often.

Achievement #70 – Ghûls Gone Wild: Kill a Graug by dispatching Ghûls on him.
At the very end of DLC Mission – Hypocritical Oath, we will receive a Tutorial for how to use the Branded Ghûl Dispatch Ability. Simply command our Branded Ghûls to explode & kill the Wretched Graug to unlock this Achievement.

This move has to deal the finishing blow, or the Achievement will not unlock. I recommend damaging & keeping the Wretched Graug stunned until it is at 1/4 before using Ghûl Dispatch to make sure that it will be a fatal blow.

Hunter Legend Mission #4 – A Feast of Flesh: Now that we can Brand Ghûls, we can access our next Hunter Legend Mission. For this Mission, we need to survive against an infinite horde of Ghûls for 3:00 minutes; this is a good Mission for the Hot Flashes Achievement as Ghûl Matrons will eventually spawn...
Sequence 19: The Ways of the Wild
1. Sea of Núrnen: Fort Morn, Harad Basin
2. Hunter Legend Missions: 5/5
3. Achievements: 71/74
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sea of Núrnen – Fort Morn:

Hunter Legend Mission #5 – Beast Master: With all previous Hunter Legend Missions completed, we can now beat the final one. During this Mission, we will receive the Tutorial for how to use the Blazing Steed Ability. Charge it by eating Uruks with our Caragath & use it to ignite 15 Uruks; we can ignite the same Uruks so long as they are still alive & no longer on fire…

Achievement #71 – The Flames Make It Go Faster: Activate the Blazing Steed.
We will unlock this Achievement as soon as we first use the Blazing Steed Ability during this Hunter Legend Mission.

Sea of Núrnen:

Achievement #72 – The Collector: Have a dominated Caragath, Wretched Graug & Spitter Ghûl simultaneously.
Now that we can Brand all Beasts in Núrnen, we can earn this Achievement at any point. Firstly, you will want to play at night to maximize the odds of Ghûl Mounds appearing. The crux of this Achievement is first finding a Wretched Graug as the other two Beasts are more easy to obtain. For a great guide (& Map) of where to find Wretched Graug Bait, check out Jon.Topps guide; be sure to Rate it & give them a positive comment if they helped you find Graug Bait!

https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=517999970

Once you have secured a Branded Wretched Graug, ride around to find Caragaths to Brand; the more the merrier. After you have a few, it will be Ghûl Mounds we have to find next. Find Ghûl Mounds & bait them to summon Ghûls; for the Achievement, we specifically need Spitter Ghûls. As soon as the Ghûls begin appearing, shoot Arrows at our Caragaths or Wretched Graug so we can build a Combo & use Wraith Burn to start Branding the Ghûls. If you are lucky, a Spitter Ghûl will be amongst them, & we will unlock the Achievement.

Sea of Núrnen – Harad Basin:

Warchief Mission #5 – Homewrecker: Now we will track down our final Warchief, Shágflak Ghûl Keeper over in the cave system in the Harad Basin. Shágflak is the most difficult of the Warchiefs & is immune to both Combat Finishers as well as Ranged Attacks. The best way to defeat him, is to use his own Ghûls against him.

As we fight him to half health, Shágflak will flee the cave, & we will have to fight him in some ruins at the Northern edge of the Harad Basin for round two. Once again, keep Branding the infinitely spawning Ghûls to damage him; we can also find Caragath Bait as well as Wretched Graug Bait hanging off the ruins. This is a great chance to earn The Collector Achievement.

Achievement #73 – The Most Dangerous Game: Defeat all 5 of the Beastmaster Warchiefs.
Story Related. Kill all 5 Warchiefs in the Lord of the Hunt DLC through the Main Quests. The Achievement will unlock after the DLC is complete & the last Warchief is dead.

Unlike the Bright Lord DLC, we will have post game free roam we can play & mop up any missing Achievements.
Sequence 20: Test of the Wild
1. Main Objectives: Kill all 5 Warchiefs & all 20 Captains
2. Bonus Objectives: Earn 13,000 Points, kill 10 Uruk Captains with Beasts, complete the Trial in under 40:00 minutes
3. Achievements: 74/74
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the Trials of War tab in your Main Menu, we can find the Lord of the Hunt’s Trial, the Test of the Wild. This will be our hardest Achievement to earn in the game due to its very short time limit & unforgiving Warchiefs.

Achievement #74 – The Hunt Is My Mistress: Complete all Objectives in the Test of the Wild.
The Objectives for the Test of the Wild are:
1. Kill all 5 Warchiefs
2. Kill all 20 Captains (Cannot have them Branded or they won’t count)
3. Earn 13,000 Points
4. Have 10 Uruk Captains be killed using Beasts
5. Finish the Trial within 40:00 minutes

The Objectives on their own are not too bad, but it is the 40:00 minute time limit that will cause us the most problems. The Test of the Ring was child’s play compared to this with the extra 20 minutes to the time limit as well as having the One Ring Ability... & it still took me 55:00 minutes to beat it on my run… You will need to play at your best to complete the Test of the Wild.

All Runes are ported over from the Base Game & from all Trials played; if you need better ones, return to the Campaign or the Test of the Ring, & farm out higher Level Uruks. Runes earned from the Lord of the Hunt Campaign will not carry over to the Test of the Wild, but all Runes earned playing the Test of the Wild Trial are permanent.

Depending on how many attempts the Test of the Wild takes you... your Map may fill up with Runes from slain Uruk Captains. Sometimes it is good just doing a “dud run” collecting them all to see what is there. If nothing else, it reduces clutter. There is nothing more annoying than trying to grab your Warchief… & grabbing 3 Runes in a row instead... Doing a “dud run” to earn the Epic Runes from each of the Beastmaster Warchiefs can also be useful for future runs!

The first 5 minutes of the run are the most essential. If you cannot Brand your first Warchief in under that time you probably won't make it. Unless of course you have gotten Beast Kills during this time to offset the time loss. The 10 Beast Kills are actually of the highest priority as it is a bit harder than it sounds. If an Uruk Captain flees, chase them down with a Caragath or Wretched Graug & kill them with it. As well, if you see an Uruk Captain off in the distance after an event while still riding a Wretched Graug, run over & kill them. These runs are very opportunistic, & you must be as flexible as possible.

Wretched Graugs are extremely over powered as you can instantly kill most if not all Uruk Captains/Warchiefs so long as they are not Vulnerable to Beasts. Knowing the locations of all the Wretched Graug Bait is important as they are absolutely essential for our success. Once again, the Steam guide by Jon.Topps is perfect for this Trial as it will show you where all the Graug Bait is; make sure to Rate & Award his guide if you are using it!

If you can help it, always Fast Travel to & from Eregion Towers to reset the Graug Baits.
https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=517999970

For a more detailed run of the Test of the Wild, as always, your first matter of business is to find a Worm or Uruk Captain to get Intel on a Warchief to Brand to start Rioting against the other Warchiefs. For me, I always liked Ûgakûga Graug Rider due to how vicious he is in a fight & can easily kill the other Warchiefs; the order is unfortunately randomized of what order the Warchiefs are in. You should try finding Ûgakûga’s location in under 2:00 minutes. If you cannot, or the first two Warchiefs you find are not him, you will probably want to restart. Easier restarting now, then 30 minutes into the Trial...

When you find Ûgakûga, head to his event & lure him out; he will most likely spawn with Bodyguards. If possible, kill them all with a Wretched Graug while they are here before Branding the Warchief. As well, when Ûgakûga 's health gets low, refrain from using Executions & just whittle down his health with your sword so you don't accidentally kill him. Brand him & immediately Command him to Riot with the other Warchiefs. Try doing this by the 5:00 minute mark (if you have gotten Beast kills during this time it may outweigh the 5:00 minute constraint since that will ultimately save you time in the long run).

Now, eliminate the Warchiefs one by one via Rioting. Conveniently, at every Riot Mission location, there will be a Wretched Graug Bait. Try using Graug Vomit first to eliminate the Bodyguards & if that doesn't work, run up & eat them. This strategy will work for all Warchiefs except Zûgor Beast Butcher. His exploding crossbow can easily kill both Ûgakûga & yourself. He also Hates when his Bodyguards Suffer, so if he has any Bodyguards & they get hurt... you are pretty much done for. To avoid this, as soon as you regain control of Talion, headshot him to death with your Bow before he can react. When you are about to run out of Focus, use Shadow Kill to finish him off. One of his Bodyguards will get promoted to take his place, but this is STILL faster than dying or having Ûgakûga die. This will also reset some Warchief’s Bodyguards giving you another opportunity for chaining more Beast kills.

After every successful Riot when you Command Ûgakûga to start the next one on a Warchief, use Dispatch to kill all remaining Uruks to net you some extra Points; be sure your Warchief has left before you do this though! As I found out the hard one, it is unfortunately possible to complete Test of the Wild in under the time limit, but lacking enough Points... Try having all Warchiefs but yours, dead by the 20:00 minute mark. It is also good having around 6-8 Beast kills & 6-10 Uruk Captain kills. But that is a pretty fluid number, & in the next step I will tell you why.

After the Warchiefs are dead, we can now use Ûgakûga to Riot with every single remaining Captain, even if we have not identified them yet. It sounds crazy, but this is much faster than manually searching for each of them all. As before, each Riot location will spawn with a nearby Wretched Graug Bait as well. Just Riot, kill Uruk Captain, Command Ûgakûga to Riot against the next Uruk Captain, Dispatch Grunts/kill mounted Graug, Fast Travel to Riot Mission, kill Uruk Captain... you get the idea. You can usually kill a Captain between 1-2 minutes a piece this way & earn 10-12 Beast kills by the end of the Trial this way.

I consistently finished with many minutes to spare, but failed due to lack of Points before I started Dispatching Grunts or had Ûgakûga dying too soon into the run. The biggest thing is keeping Ûgakûga alive, everything hinges on him as he is our source of Riot Missions. After the last Uruk Captain has been killed, Dispatch Ûgakûga & claim this abysmal Achievement… You do need at least 11,000 Points before you kill Ûgakûga, as anything short will not be enough. Completing 10 Beast kills & finishing in under 40:00 minutes will earn you the extra 2,000 Points for the 13,000 Point minimum.
Conclusion:
Apart from The Hunt Is My Mistress Achievement, Shadow of Mordor is pretty straightforward 100% & is a lot of fun; if you beat the Test of the Wild, well hats off & a big round of applause for you, my friend. Anything & everything you enjoyed playing this game is amplified by 10 in the next game, Shadow of War! 100% took me just under 40 hours to complete; a lot of this time may vary with attempts for the Test of the Wild.

The updated info makes perfect sense. I have been undertaking the arduous process of trying to build an exploitable Captain up to Warchief and Level 25 status and my current process has followed the layout similarly. I am definitely going about it the less efficient way, as I only killed one Warchief and used Worms and loose Intel to reveal as many Captains as possible early on for the sake of singling out good candidates. I guess I was hoping it would be a quick option if I got lucky early on but killing all the Warchiefs out the gate definitely offers more breathing room.

No, no as far as I can tell with my own verification, you're right. Give me a few minutes to write up the new strat, & you can see if that makes sense. It will be a lot more tedious & luck based since the original Warchief lineup are not good candidates for the Level 30 Rune. Because we cannot use Branded Bodyguards it also means we cannot use the Death Threat exploit so you must use ALL prerequisites which will include exploiting a Fear to raise the Rune to Level 30.

I suspect most others have probably also earned the achievement similarly naturally. I'm super impressed with the quick response, though! Thank you for taking the time to check and verify. I was ready and willing to be told I was missing something but if what you say is the case then I'll go ahead and fire up a new run and get to it.

Do not ask me why no one else hasn't said anything in the five years this guide has been out... but from what I can tell, you are absolutely right. I also could not Command Uruk Captains at all. Not sure if that was always the case, or if it changed (which I doubt) but either way my guide information is not accurate. Pretty sure when I did the guide, I earned the Achievement naturally while playing Test of the Ring & when I went back to write the Achievement description, I assumed the same strat for Mighty Doom would work. That is not the case. It will take a lot more set up & be more tedious to "farm" a Level 30 Rune.

Thanks a lot for bringing this up, my guide info is straight up wrong. I will update it right now. The strat is still similar, but without being able to Command Uruk Captains & most original Warchiefs not having exploitable Fears there is going to be more luck involved with Uruk Captains replacing the Warchiefs that are what we are looking for.

I can brand all I want, I just can't command Captains outright. Command missions do show up for Branded Warchiefs, but that doesn't directly help me in getting the level 30 Rune.

Hey Toe Slurping Noises, that doesn't quite make sense as part of the Trial's objectives is to have at least 8 Captains or Warchiefs been Branded. You sort of have to be able to Brand/Command Uruks. Give me a second to re-install the game & quickly double check this for myself; my memory is a bit fuzzy with this game.

At the risk of sounding dumb, as I haven't seen it mentioned in the comments and I can't find mention of it anywhere else... Did something about playing as Celebrimbor change? I am not able to command any Captains to become bodyguards of Warchiefs, only issue death threats, both in the Bright Lord DLC story and in the Trial of the Ring. Upon firing up Trial of the Ring, all Warchiefs are the Bright Lord DLC Warchiefs, and have no weaknesses or fears, in fact all specifically being Fearless. Which makes the information in the guide a bit confusing for the Beyond Epic achievement. Am I just missing something?

A very well written guide. This helped me a lot in order get 100% in Shadow of Mordor. Highly recommended.

When Half Life 2 combined all its Episodes & Achievement lists, I took that opportunity to remaster my guide for it while I re-earned the Achievements... & it was very cathartic. My first few guides (this one, Metro 2033, Metro Last Light, Darkness 2, Bioshock 1, & a few others) are pretty dated to what I consider my "modern guide standards" & have been bugging me for a while for being sloppy.

Have you finished Shadow of War yet, WeeHammy? I want to re-visit that guide as well (mostly because the gameplay for the Shadow of Mordor/War is just so fun & I miss making Uruk armies) sometime this year to remaster as well. My guide for Shadow of War aged better than this one, but I still want to go back to it so it resembles more of how I just did Shadow of Mordor.

Ohhh!! Good luck Cynic! I cannot wait to see the remastered guide! I was not long after following your guidance and got my coveted 100% (finally haha!!)

Great work man and thank you for your excellent guides! looking forward to future guides of yours!
