Reload that gun! (-Ammo shop update-)

Description
(!)Please read the description for instructions on how the mod works(!)
Huge thanks to Mighty Annihilator for making the resource Guns'N'Ammo , this mod couldn't exist without as it uses it's scripts for every single weapon and some assets for other things, if you like my mod, give them proper well deserved kudos!

/////////////////////////**********About this mod**********/////////////////////////

This adds ammo-based weaponry to the game, from the lowest tier (iron) to the highest (aegisalt) all craftable from a new station made at the inventors' table .
It might be appealing for people who want to separate energy from (these) weapons, making energy more exclusive for both vanilla and modded techs, while also giving some more supply management other than food and crafting materials. This includes rifles, revolvers , shotguns and more. Of course this is not a perfect system and has some issues, more of that later on this description.

The main reason this exists is because I like *start of deep emotional music* "immersion" *end of deep emotional music* and using energy, while not really groundbreaking, it wasn't my taste for a long time. I don't like sharing ammo resource with tech resource, and the other reloading options in mod concept all recharged energy on reload and if you want to use like, idk an energy shield it does make it feel like cheating, even when that was not your intention. Managing my personal resources like ammo, food and overall crafting inventory is truly my way to have fun and I was only missing one of the three on starbound, since there were almost no mods having an ammo feature (and me having tendencies to like modding) and an existing working resource of what I want out in the open, the mod was born.

*These are meant to be high power weapons (in other words, high damage) since they consume resources, however I can patch it if the damage values are too high/low.*

What's included?
  • Crafting station (gun station).
  • Ammo printer (ammo shop).
  • 3 bullet types, 3 speedloaders types (x6 revolver bullet packs), 3 shell types, 2 crossbow bolts, 3 mag types and 1 railgun bolt.
  • Iron, tungsten, steel, titanium, durasteel and aegisalt tiers.
  • Rifles, snipers, shotguns, crossbows, revolvers and energy-reserving rifles for all tiers (except for crossbows and energy rifles, the former only has up to tungsten; the later starts at titanium).
  • An ammo unloader.
How do you reload?
  1. Craft your station
  2. Craft your gun
  3. Craft your ammo/clip/mag
  4. Grab your ammo/clip/mag and, while grabbing it, right click on the gun
That's it!
Every gun has, in it's description, their corresponding ammo type and ammo amount. So craft the gun before your ammo and read it to avoid mistakes.

What about the weapon's special attack (right click)?
They don't have a "special attack", instead:
  • Rifles/crossbows: Ejects inserted mags and ammo/bolts (not needed to reload).
  • Shotguns/snipers: Pumps the gun, forwarding their bullets (required to fire, every time the weapon is sheathed).
  • Pistols: Are one-handed, so you choose their off-hand!
  • Energy rifles: Consumes energy to (almost) instantly reload.
How do you use the unloader?

Grab it and, as if it was ammo, right click the weapon you want to unload, then equip said weapon.

What are those known issues?
  • Reloading it's tedious at first, because as you probable already noticed you MUST have your inventory open, yeah in the middle of the fight. Is this fixable? Most likely yes, but I can't. I'm not a programmer, this is my first starbound mod and in fact the very first mod I've ever edited a heavy-packed-with-instructions-for-dummies script. So although the "problem" can be most definitely be patched, I just lack the experience for it, and that goes for most of the issues the mod has: I don't have the ability to patch it (probably).
  • The sprites don't really look vanilla, and heck probably they are not that good looking in general, I'm no pixel artist either, but I did try and had some fun while I was at it, hopefully it doesn't push you away.
  • The ammo count will remain blank until you've equipped the gun, and the mags won't display their loaded bullets.
  • The unloader only unloads bullets once you equip the gun after applying it, so don't panic nor forget to equip the gun (cuz' the unloader will remain stuck inside the gun until you pick it up).
Any future plans?
Besides patching here and there if I missed anything? Not really. I do want to expand on the concept of ammo-based weaponry, but I'm extremely new at modding. Christ I didn't even see a tutorial on how to mod before I did this, I picked up the resource cuz' I wanted bullet based weapons, found there were none (Except for one, but wasn't my taste, sorry) and got the inspiration to make this. I'm surprised it all came together without breaking my game, so truly kudos to Mighty Annihilator for making their resource dummy-friendly.
But overall I do want to come back modding around this theme, I wouldn't wait standing tho...

Oh and yeah I'm not native english speaker yadda yadda yadda sorry if you want to put bleach on your eyes for a misspell yadda yadda yadda.

V1.5 Changelog:
Ammo printer
  • Print (buy) ammo from it!
  • Crafted at inventors' table.
  • Animated!
  • Ammo now has balanced prize values.
  • Also a few minor fixes here and there
This was bound to happen. I liked to craft the ammo, and that is staying, but a way to buy the ammo will make it all much more comfortable overall.

this mod has promise, I'll keep my eye on it.
Also since you have the code for the Energy Rifle, any change of making an energy weapon that uses it's own form of ammo aside from the Energy bar?

Dude don't stress it, this will fit quite nicely into my Beta list either way. I always got GIC for the main one xD

I do appreciate your sincerity though. Look it's your time, man. You don't owe anyone a damn thing so don't feel as if you do.

And I'm sadden to add that I don't really remember how to mod in starbound. It's been a long while and I don't even know where to begin again.
And since I'm doing projects in other games, it is unlikely that I'll patch this mod any time soon, really sorry :steamsad:

Real shame about this mod, I'd like to try it out but for some reason it doesn't seem to fit my Interface modlist.:

Many Tabs
Compact Crafting
Frackin Stations Interface

I turned off the last one and I at least got to see the guns without a CTM, but couldn't access other tabs. Unfortunately I don't know enough about patching or I'd just do it myself.
