Long time, MP GC was only for 2 players (1v1)
But with this, now you are able to play MP GC with more than 2 players (1v1v1, 1v1v1v1(with other mods!!) e.t.c.) - you can set anything you want.

To make this happen you need a new custom game.exe file. What this new exe does : it allows you to host MP GC server with more than 2 open player slots (it is not possible with base game exe file)
This new exe doesn't break anything - you still will be able to play vanila/any mod with other players, even if they don't have this new exe file.

You can download this new exe files in STEP ONE(see below)..
So, now you can play MP GC with a lot of people.. but one more thing: imagine this: you are playing for the Rebellion and you attack the Empire, tactical battle launches.. You're both fighting, but what the third player will do, which is not present in this battle? If they have some local forces on the planet they will be able to control them, but what will they see if there are no allied local forces?

The only thing they will see is an empty map because of Fog of War. We don't think it's much fun.
So, what this workshop mod does - disables Fog of War for the third player, which is not present in the battle, so they can watch you play, like a spectator. Moreover, as a third player you will have some reinforcements in the space battle, so you will have very small control over a battle.


Step one
Host of the server has to download this exe[drive.google.com] and extract it to the main game directory. Other players may skip this step.
Fix adds an ability to force open all lobby slots.




Step two
Subscribe on the mod and launch FOC with this mod.
You can do it in game options, or just copy/paste this:
STEAMMOD=2046607781


After you launch the game, you should thee that loading screen.

If you dont see that 1v1v1 loading screen, that means mod didn't manage to launch. Try other mod launching methods


FAQ
- Is this compatible with mod X ?
- We don't know. but it should be. Just launch your mod and this mod. You can do this by setting launch options:
STEAMMOD=2046607781 STEAMMOD=[your X mode id]
An example: STEAMMOD=2046607781 STEAMMOD=1785563456

- I'm getting desyncs, what should I do
- It's base game bug. Even vanila game has desyncs. MP GC is not 100% stable. This mod has the same stability as vanila game. Just one advice we can give you: save your game as often as possible. Desyncs are very often appear after planet gets corrupted, so I suggest not to play any faction which has corruption mechanic. Just one advice we can give you: save your game often.
When we tested - we got 100% chance of sync errors if planet was corrupt after tactical battle. - it is base game bug - it happens in vanila too. To avoid this we made save/load each time Consortium conquered a planet, but before auto-corruption on this planet gets 100%. It helped us to play against Consortium a little bit.


- How to get multiple players to be on the same side?
- Just choose the same faction. After game starts faction heroes get duplicated. So, other player with the same faction as you are - will not have any planets, no army, just base heroes in the same location as you are. You need to help your teammate to conquer planet.
You can have common fleets with your teammate. Just place your forces in one fleet - and move this fleet to other system.
With this common fleet you even can attack enemy, and in tactical battle each one will have his own units. Also you can share your money by pressing shift + y

is there a wy to play rebellion vs rebellion, etc. , to have a real contest of strength?

I got a suggestion for an enhancement.
Currently the third party can just watch. What if you introduce a mechanic, that allows player to create global reinfocement groups, which can be used in any battle.

These might be limited either by unit kind or by group size. Or such, that you can only can place one troop point in x minutes (up to a maximum limit).

That way the third player of a battle can do something and even has a chance to win, though it's not high.

Problem though: The units in the global reinforcement might be kinda wasted, cause the enemy outnumbers you. But not sure if that is a real problem.
If it is, then one might want to use some different mechanism, that reduces the costs of these troops or regenerate parts of it. Or create something like a space station for the third player. Or whatever.

yeah, U need to replace exe.
if you do not see 1v1v1 logo that means that you didn't manage to lauch the mod (workshop item)

Are you just extracting the .exe file to the Empire at War folder or are you placing the corruption folder in there? Because if I do the latter I have to replace the existing exe, and doing it the first way causes there to be no message on the loading screen about 1v1v1

Theres a bug with this mod where if the executor dies, it gets cloned. And if the clone dies, it instantly respawns after a battle. any fix? or is it just a vanilla game bug.
