First Punic War (1.4)

Description
Rules:

1) Do not pause or unpause the game for any reason.

2) If we are paused, it is probably because we are waiting for a hotjoin. Do not use your mouse and keyboard when we are waiting for a hotjoin or it will fail. When you hotjoin, do not use your mouse or keyboard for two months to let your game sync up properly with the host's and others. Tell the host when you are in the game.

3) If you want to compare different nations in the game lobby, do so in Observer mode or the lobby will crash.
.
4) If playing on the DoA scenario (most games), try to keep your clicking to a minimum for the first month so the computer can generate missions and characters.

5) Each player is assigned 2 diplomacy points. These diplomacy points are applied to human allies only.

If your player ally has 99 cities or less, it costs you no points.
If your player ally has between 100 cities and 299 cities, it costs you 1 point.
If your player ally has between 299 and 499 cities, it costs you 2 points.
There is no limit on AI allies.

6) Guarantees and vassals do count as allies toward this human alliance limit. Therefore, a human player can guarantee, vassalise or ally with any human regional power (which costs no alliance points) or 2 human major powers with 299 territories or less or 1 human major power with 300 territories or more. Great Powers can only guarantee one nation, which costs 2 alliance points instead of 1.
.
7) You may not assassinate characters in player countries.

8) You may only support rebels in provinces bordering you.

9) You may not declare war until you have accepted or rejected any peace deals previously sent to you.

10) In wars without a Casus Bellum, the defender may enforce a white peace after 15 years.

11) You may not break a truce against a player, his allies or his guarantees or vassals (whether human or AI). Truces are sacred and breaking one is an insult against the gods. Do not try to fool the gods by forcing a truce break. Players may at most break a truce in a defensive war due to an alliance signed before the war. Furthermore, you may not declare war until you have accepted or rejected any peace deals previously sent to you.
.
12) If you buy mercs, you must move them to your land in order to remove their black flags as soon as possible.

13) A territory sold to another player must either border that player or be reasonably within reach. A territory is considered reasonably within reach if the recipient can reach it without third-party military access or if it is within its naval range.

14) You may not buy or sell territories when you are at war or when the buying or selling nation is at war (human or AI).
.
15) You may not buy or sell any territory to a player for the purpose of forming a new nation nor have a middleman buy or sell them to you. Some formable nations' bonuses are very strong and some nations have no formables at all, so it is only fair that the iron price should be paid for them.

16) You may not transfer or receive any territory subject to a wargoal under any circumstances.

17) You may not surrender land to a third party as a way to avoid losing that land to a player in a war. Likewise, you may not give money or land away to a third party before quitting the game.
.
18) You may not demand territory from a player in a peace deal that you or your alliance do not occupy. However, defeated players may offer unoccupied territory in a peace deal if it is not subject to a wargoal.

19) You may not enforce peace on a player, his vassals or allies using the Enforce Peace button in the Influence Actions menu, but you may otherwise threaten, intimidate, browbeat and attack anyone to your heart's content.

20) Migratory units cannot merge with any other type of unit.

21) You may not take advantage of the supply train bug that allows you to refill food when sieging by detaching and reattaching your supply trains. Though this is difficult to enforce, we do stream our games, so if you are caught doing it you will be shamed forever and your ancestors' bones will be exhumed, cursed and dumped into a volcano.

22) Be considerate of your fellow players and the health of the campaign. Don't play cynically or abuse the mechanics of the game. Don't lose you temper or quit because you suffer a setback. Don't ruin your nation out of spite or contempt. Be gracious in victory and in defeat. If you miss a session, please arrange for a substitute ahead of time or ask us for help. Feel free to share your comments and complaints and we'll see you on the battlefield.
