EMD SD40T-2 "Snoot" Locomotive

Description
The SD40T-2 is a 6-axle road switcher diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division having a 16-cylinder EMD 645E3 diesel engine producing 3,000 horsepower (2,240 kW). 312 SD40T-2s were built in-between April 1974 and July 1980. This locomotive and the SD45T-2 are popularly called "tunnel motors", but EMD's term is SD40-2s with "cooling system modifications" because they were designed for better engine cooling in long tunnel passages. The difference between this locomotive and the standard SD40-2, are the radiator intakes and radiator fan grills located at the rear of the locomotive.

The model represented is a phase II locomotive, built between june and july of 1974, featuring the brake wheel and 116in nose.
THE THROTTLE LEVER NAMED "DYNAMIC" ACTUALLY CONTROLS THE DIESEL ENGINE.

THIS IS A UNPAINTED MODEL.
IF YOU REPOST THIS MODEL WITH A CUSTOM PAINT JOB, PLEASE CREDIT ME OR LINK THIS PAGE.

Engine start-up process:
Looking from the front, go to the left side of the long body of the locomotive, open the two high door on the long hood and unlock the EMD 16-645E3 starter inside the long hood, next to the engine itself.

@Corporal Simmons this and the SD40 are such old builds they don't even have it. C32-8 has it working though.

So the "Snoot" was usually the SD40-2 that was used for helper power because they have a master/slave system in the nose iirc. is the System non working like the SD60?

Called "Snoot" because of the longer than normal short hood aka "nose"
This build has the 116in nose, a normal short hood would be 81 or 88in
