There will not be a HL3 either, he's already said. You'll be lucky to get an EP3 let alone HL3. They are 100% focused on steamdeck and will not be doing any continuations of game sagas.

it's just kind of a shitty troll at this point. we're all excited about Alyx and its awesome and everything, but dude its been 13 years and company is worth billions, they can and need to just finish the story they started so the series can either die peacefully or move on. it's not really ungrateful to be a bit pissed when after all that time they drop a prequel that's only tangentially connected to the story they left on a cliffhanger over a decade ago, using a system that a pretty small amount of pc gamers have bought into, and the majority have no interest in. it's clear that Gabe and Valve by extension revel in being that troll, but its worn pretty thin.
