Half-Life 2: Episode is well worth your time and money, here it feels like Valve figured out how these games should play.
Vast improvement over the previous entries.

Gameplay

Movement & Driving
When landing you do have weight that slides you forwards, but not so much that it becomes a problem.

Vehicles control nicely when you're being careful, confidence is the enemy, confidence will cause you to crash into walls and trees.

Guns/u]
Every weapon feels good to use, the shotgun still does damage from a distance away, reload times will encourage you to swap to something else in a pinch.
You carry just enough ammo that you'll comfortable using everything in your arsenal in a fight, but not too much ammo to the point where you would just use one weapon.

Level Design

Unlike HL2 and HL2:E1, even when you do get lost, it's not hard to figure out where you're suppose to be gong.

Fights

A lot more balanced and fun to do in this one.

Fluff

Graphics are understandably dated, but it still looks great.

Sound, music, and voice acting are fantastic.

Jeez, what a way to end a game. The action and story are perfectly balanced here, I think episode 2 is my favorite out of the all the HL2 games mostly for it's balance of gameplay.

istg half life was a social experiment aint no way they're leaving us with that ending.
