Ground Patrol

Infantry only battles randomly created in towns where you have various tasks to perform.

Features:
  • Randomly generated missions
  • Playable solo, solo with AI, coop, or coop with AI
  • Virtual Arsenal (full, limited to the map DLC, or limited to the faction you choose to play as)
  • Many parameters to alter the gameplay to make it easier/harder/faster/slower/etc
  • Revive system including allowing AI to revive you or you to revive AI
  • Factions - you can choose any faction to play as and any faction to have as enemy



Game Details
Many details and settings can be found in the briefing once in the mission. When the game starts, you will be in a building. Approach the map on the wall and you should get options to change settings and '** Start **' to generate and start the mission. You will be tasked with 1 to 3 objectives in a town. Objectives are things like destroying a vehicle, locating an item, eliminating a high value target. Read the tasks to get more clues to help complete the objectives.

Arsenal Cabinets: The starting building has two wooden cabinets that act as virtual arsenals. They can be set to be 'full' arsenals with all the weapons and gear, 'map specific' arsenals containing the weapons and gear appropriate for the map/dlc, or 'faction specific' which will only allow weapons and gear used by the faction you choose.

Starting Location: You will start the game in broken down cars. The enemy will not be able to see you until you exit the vehicle so be sure to make sure it's safe before exiting. The starting vehicles are also virtual arsenals, so you can gear up at them. If you die, or JIP in late, the map on the wall will say 'Parachute to Team'. This will give you the option to return to the car or parachute on a team member.

Exfil: Once all the tasks are complete you need to reach the exfil helicopter. The starting options allow you to end there or require you to fly the helicopter out of the area. You can also call for extraction using your radio.

Helpful Features: A couple of helpful features are included. If you get stuck in the house due to terrain, the map on the wall will have an 'emergency exit' which will destroy the house you start in allowing you to exit through the sides. If your AI get stuck in the starting house and refuse to leave, the have am 'Exit building' option attached to them that will warp them outside the building.

The gameplay was inspired by Combat Patrol missions in Arma.


This is a coop mission, so it can only be played in the multiplayer part of arma, although you can play it solo and private without being accessible to anyone else. This is how to play this mission:

Launch Arma. Once it's started select 'multiplayer' then 'server browser'
At the top select 'host server'. A list of settings will show up. Look at the 'HOST' option. If you have it set to 'LAN' then it will be a private game. Click the 'Host Server' button.
Next you should choose the map on the left, and the mission on the right.
Then click 'play'.

It's been updated. The random button should be random now if the arsenal isn't 'Faction Specific'. Let me know if you spot any issues.

That sounds like a bug. I agree that if you have the arsenal set to show everything, the random button should behave as it does normally in Arma. I'll fix it. I'm glad you like the mission :-)

I've been playing this scenario and love it! one issue I have is that when I chose random in the arsenal, normally it will randomize the gear and gun completely, however in this scenario it only randomizes the class so there's only like 5 random setups and no out of faction gear. This is even after I set the VA to full. is there a fix I could do to revert it to the old Virtual Arsenal?

Had the chance to play this one after Ground Breach (solo with AI team) this morning. This one is also excelent. I can't say how good it is with vanilla AI, but with LAMBS and VCOM combined it is a hell of solo fun.

Kind of a cryptic question. Ground breach are short Close Quarters Combat missions (10-15 minutes long) in a small area (30-50 meter radius). Ground Patrol is a much longer mission based in a town where you have a few objectives to accomplish and traverse the town do so.
