Rimworld: Megacorp for 1.1

Welcome to Rimworld: Megacorp! This faction mod builds upon the new Royalty DLC by adding a new faction - the Megacorporations - to the mix, complete with obtainable titles and ranks, new faction-specific traders for the Megacorps, and much more!

Join the Megacorporation faction and rise through their ranks and you’ll find your pawns rewarded with not only periodic salaries [Coming Soon], but they’ll also gain access to the new special managerial Implant - the NeuroComputer! This implant is much like an upgraded and upgradeable version of the Neurocalculator - it provides bonuses to trade-related stats, as well as research speed, at the cost of increased mental break threshold, decreased psychic sensitivity, and a weakness to EMP damage.

On top of that, as you rank up within the Megacorporations, you’ll have access to their new traders. Unlike regular traders, these caravan and orbital traders offer much better goods - and often at better prices! Bulk goods and debt-slaves in particular are cheaper, while rarer items are available in higher quantities, but often at higher prices. Anyone can trade with the caravans, but to access their coveted orbital traders and settlements, ranks within the corporation are needed! At the highest rank, Executive, the Corporate Exotic Goods Orbital Trader is available, which sells a wide variety of stolen and/or looted archotech implants, artifacts, and devices along with a wide variety of exotic goods.

This mod focuses on the ability to make money - with the new faction traders offering good deals on basic resources in which to turn into saleable commodities, a bonus to trade-related skills with the new Neurocomputer, and new quests related to production and trade [Coming Soon], you’ll be swimming in cash in no time.

But with more wealth, comes more opportunity for pain and suffering. In addition to the new Megacorporation faction that you can ally and gain titles with is the new Expansionistic Megacorporation faction - these guys are only interested in expanding their influence and removing the competition - they are permanently hostile to everyone as a result.

Both Megacorporations’ soldiers utilize high quality industrial and spacer gear. They come in three tiers - the corporate mercenaries, corporate soldiers, and bionic soldiers. Be wary of their high-quality gear, but they won’t start raiding you until you’ve gained enough wealth - usually around the same time mechanoids start raiding you.

Also, begin play as the new spacer-level Startup Company player faction and scenario! This fast-start scenario gives you 7 pawns to work with alongside an above-average amount of resources and the Geothermal Generators unlocked from the get-go. Be warned, however, that this means you'll be targeted by larger enemies sooner than the others....

New quests and edicts are planned, but right now the megacorporation utilizes the same exact quests as the Empire - complete with royal descriptions, for now. They do have a carbon-copy replica of the Empire’s Wimp Intro quest and the Empire’s End-game quests. Eventually, new unique intro and end-game quests will be made.

Compatibilities:

This mod uses 99.9% vanilla items - only two new items were added (the Neurocomputer and Three Piece Suit), so as a result, this mod should be 100% compatible, as it doesn’t modify ANY existing vanilla defs, only utilizes them when needed.

Mods that modify existing defs, especially weapons and armor, will modify this mod, but it should work fine. Needs testing!

I intend to fully integrate both RimCuisine 2 and War Crimes Expanded into working with this mod - once I fully update the two.

100% compatible with Orion's Faction Discovery mod!

Incompatible with Medical System Expansion Revived for the time being. Hopefully, when they get their stuff working better, I can remove this incompatibility.

----------------------------------------------------------

To do List

-Add Corporate-specific quests
-More Corporate-specific Edicts
-Add Corporate-specific or at least Corporate-themed incidents
-Add new Spacer Player Faction and starting scenario to go along with it Added!

-Add full built-in functionality with RimCuisine 2
-Add full built-in functionality with War Crimes Expanded

-Work on balancing
-More corporate names. There is only ~950,000 combinations. Need more.

....and more?

----------------------------------------------------------

Special Notes:

This is currently a Beta and as a result, thorough balance testing has not been done. Sure, I tested each thing as I added it to make sure it didn’t give 50 errors, but extensive testing on balance and gameplay hasn’t been done yet. That’s what you all for! You are my guinea pigs!

Now, have fun!

Yeah I've been working on an update a little bit at a time - the version I have is currently usable, but bare-bones and I'm trying to find the time to work on this and my other mods, but my new job is rather demanding (even if I'm enjoying it).
