ULTra Personal Rapid Transit

Description
ULTra (Urban Light Transit) is a PRT (Personal Rapid Transit) PODCAR system developed by the British engineering company Ultra Global PRT. The first public system opened at Heathrow Airport, London in May 2011.
The Pods (which act like buses), drive on special guideways (which act like roads).

This pack includes:
  • Two-way network: All elevations
  • One-way network: Ground, Elevated, Bridge
  • 2 Stations: Ground, Elevated
  • Depot
  • 3 Pod Vehicles: Plain (line coloured), Two-tone (line coloured), Polygon (line coloured)
  • Pod Prop: Plain white

Everything in this pack can be accessed from a custom Personal Rapid Transit menu.
Networks
Depot and Stations
The props can be found by searching "pod" using Find It!

The networks are special-purpose guideways, and should only be used with the items in this pack. Do not connect them to your existing road network.

Use Improved Public Transport 2 or Transport Lines Manager to ensure that only the Pods spawn on these networks, and to ensure the Pods do not spawn on normal roads. If you allow them to spawn on normal roads they will cause traffic jams because they are slow.

Ensure the stations are placed on flat ground. Due to unforeseen game-related problems, you are only able to place one stop on each side of the elevated station, and one stop on the ground station. The stations are designed for right-hand-traffic, just like the real life system.

The small width of the networks might cause some game-related problems. This is because the in-game networks were never designed to be this thin.
It is highly recommended you use a theme which does not have grass sprites or use this mod to remove them, otherwise they may show through the guideways.
You may encounter some terrain issues while using these networks; the best thing do to if you have major problems is delete and redraw them.

Pod information:
Passenger capacity
4
Maximum speed
40 kph (25 mph)
Minimum turn radius
5 meters
Maximum climb gradient
20%

Wherever possible, texture sharing is used. If you use Loading Screen Mod then it will improve your loading times significantly.

Heathrow Pod liveries can be found here.

Please give feedback in the comments section, and consider giving this asset a positive rating if you did enjoy using it.

How to use
Place depot and stations on flat ground.
Draw a closed network connecting the stations and the depot. Do not connect the guideways to regular roads. Use Fine Road Tool to toggle elevations.
Create a bus line that traverses the network.
Use either Improved Public Transport 2 or Transport Lines Manager to select which types of Pod you want to spawn from the depot.
The Pods will travel along the line, picking up and dropping off passengers at the stations, just like a regular bus would.

Acknowledgments
Hazard262 for screenshots.
Klyte45 for developing the framework mod.
REV0 for allowing me to use his polygon texture.

@timothykcy use TMPE to exclude the other cars from the PRT roads. Only allow "buses"

It's a very good asset but hope it can be totally separated from the road network like monorail or so. Even I do not connect it with my entire road network, other vehicles run on the PRT roads. Would be nice if it can be built like other railways.

I'd like it better if it didn't spawn as a bus on my normal bus routes. Haven't tested if it's the Improved Public Transport 2 mod that's placing them in the queue. That's the mod I have. I was somewhat confused by these pods appearing and don't really remember where I was prompted to subscribe to these pods. I have to go through each bus line and select my buses to make them go away. I've unsubscribed until later.

Basicly the Goodyear people mover from Disneyland Tomorrowland that ran from the late 60s to the mid 90s The original concept was not to move volumes of people, more like an inter campus transport system. I always thought it would be great on a college campus or a large commercial campus, I worked at one where we had to bus between buildings This system may have saved tons of time, since it is basically constantly available.

btw, this would be a perfect people mover at an airport or similar destination that requires a lot of parking. this asset is very similar to the little tram pods in the long term parking at Tampa Int Airport.

the stations must be placed by a road. okay. but the pod cars are leaving the track, driving through the station floor and getting onto the main road even though there is no connection between the track and the main road.

What happen if you connect it to your regular road network?
