The fictional AFH-02B of the JSDF from Patlabor: The Movie and Patlabor 2.

For flight, a minimum RPS of 30 is recommended, however up to 50 is available. The is a forward thrust vernier that will open the jet exhausts up to 15% to produce greater groundspeed (up to approximately 160 knots in "level" flight.) This mechanism is functional but also rather unstable. Hover mode is useful when forward thrust is not engaged, and the altitude capture system is good to reaching a higher altitude with little input. These features do not play well with the forward thrust system beyond a 0.9 setting or a throttle of 30 RPS or more.

It is armed with 4 rocket pods, 2 missiles and 1 double-barrel gun. The rocket pods are linked to fire at the same time, 5 rockets per pod. Two of the pods carry inert gas flares for diversions.The missiles are carried underneath the engines. The gun sits on a ventral ball mount, and is linked to a mobile camera usable from the ACSO seat.

For countermeasures, the Hellhound carries 6 red illumination flares.

The Pilot controls the flight characteristics of the aircraft, as well as the flares, rockets, and smoke systems. The ACSO controls the gun, the missiles, the radar, radio, IFF, and navigation systems of the aircraft.
