This is like every other naval mission in the workshop meaning:

All friendly planes launch ahead of you no matter what. You are the last to leave the carrier.
this means all the AvA in this mission is completed by the AI. missile cruisers are one of the least fun targets to play against and that's all you are left with. not recommended unless you're bored of everything else this game has to offer.

Not a great mission. Friendlies are usually dead before enemy fighters are, and the enemy cruise group is not only the AO over which the fighting is forced in but it's constantly launching missiles at blues. Also the mission creator didn't make a waypoint for the base, so it's technically impossible to complete since advancing to this objective causes a mission failure.

That said, I made a different strategy to the other guy. The main difference is 1) no RTB/reload (since your $100K budget doesn't cover seven cruise missiles ) and 2) very very fast flying. Other than that it's somewhat similar.

Absolutely not. No way to dodge missiles. 0/10. Definitely made for a hardcore VR veteran who can completely phase through missiles.

Wow at last, after years, I could finally complete this very difficult mission !
In game took 1h, but had to quick save and load a few times, so real time was quite longer.

Now I feel pro !

What I did to success is detailed in the discussion post (too long for a simple comment here). Roughly, only IR and radar missle at first, then get GPS coords, then go back to the carrier and arm with all 7 AGM-89.

i usually try frontal attack with AGM89's but they never make it to the carrier - i can sink it with glide LGB but i usually need to get close which means I get taken down by the carrier SAMs. any tips for this?

Thoughtful and challenging mission! Any ideas as to why I get a mission failed immediately after destroying the carrier? As soon as the RTB objective appears, that objective fails even when I successfully return to and land on the base carrier.
