Description
(CV Tier 2, Class 2, Unlock Level 10)

Primary roles: Starter CV, Warp, Shield Ready, Storage, Defense, Hangar, Landing pad, Farm, Medical, Crafting, Drone Hatch, WiFi, Alpha 11.x

The MCRN-Pioneer-T2 is a CPU Tier 2 starter CV that comes with a load of standard features and is upgradable. Staying at tier 2, the ship can also have a T2 shield, offline protection, and armor repair added and remain at 100% CPU tier 2 efficiency. Standard features include: 2x240K storage and lift thrust to move it, 24K ammo storage, 27 Grow plot farm, full medical bay with all specialized equipment, 3 additional large cargo boxes, 1 advanced constructor, 1 small constructor, armor locker, compartmentalized o2 and station, Drone Hatch, standard and heavy lift modes, front entry ramp, crew area, and engineering area. This ship was tested loading 4 HV's/SV's + max cargo and can still lift off and get around with heavy lift mode on.

Inside the ship has areas to add a T2 shield, Offline Protection, and Armor repair. In the hangar there is an LCD with info on where these parts can be added. Beyond that, the ship is also ready with marked locations to add a repair bay, repair console, and 2xT3 blocks. Adding a repair bay + all other features will bring the ship above CPU tier 2 with a 84% efficiency. One could either place a repair bay as needed and remove when the repair is complete or add CPU Tier 3 blocks. This ship does not need to become CPU tier 3 for all other options thou.

Offense and Defense:

The ship comes stock with 5 cannon turrets (3 retractable) and the hull is made of steel. It is not intended for combat but offers ground defense against standard attacks.

Update 2/1/2020 - Moved front down thrusters to a new location to fix a heat issue on the left front farm area that was causing 2 grow plots to fail.

The best early-game CV, in my opinion, including for Reforged Eden!
- Plenty of storage space, which is great for long missions or simply going out mining;
- Enough firepower to keep most common annoyances away, works well for base defense too;
- Awesome interior and exterior design, looks great in any environment;
- Very cheap in terms of materials, on par with the Wayfarer-ST2;

I like the ship. Great lines and utility. Maneuvers surprisingly well for the size. I would like a bit more speed. How many thrusters will get it some more? Two extra medium in the rear made no difference. Just FYI I am playing vanilla SP.

like it alot, i have the shade on my vanilla account, buy wanted to try something a little bigger, this hauled 8 sv's from one base to another. nice and big landing area's help a lot, to carry what you need on an expiditon.i can set it down turn the thrusters off and not have to worry about drones when i leave to go mining or run a poi or do what ever. i did opt out of the off line protection and used that for the cpu blocks as i felt it was a more secure area.

Read door no longer detecting player, anyone else have this? Sensors are still there, even spawned a new one in, into crative just to check, all the settings are the same but the back door just does not want recognize me or HV any longer.

So, I recently found and started playing Empyrion. Question on this cool CV: once you upgrade to T4 CPU, couldn't you add more stuff to include beefy weapons, upgrade to combat steel, etc. to prolong longevity of use? Forgive my ignorance... I am new here. :) Thanks for any added info/ perspective!

I love this one. It took a while to get the mats for it but then the day after I finished it, I found a wrecked freighter in a system and filled up both 240k storages with mats and modules.

Gmac9169: I thought so too, but it seems they lower your power draw instead of charging. You can't add capacitors either. I slapped four of the big panels on top. They lower my draw by roughly 400KW

This is amazing CV, really cool looking. Problem is, it has no future role. Janus ASV docks to Helios, turns into scout/miner mid game, has shit ton of lift. This one is great in the beginning, but then in mid game you end up scrapping it. So Janus is better, but it is a flying brick. This one looks cool, but is for early game only.
