Optimized Oil Industry Area

Description
NO DLC REQUIRED.

Efficient industrial layout for the oil industry from the Industries DLC. The bottom portion can be modified to fit your needs such as cargo train, cargo ship, or straight to the highway. The height and width of each row can be modified to meet the needs of buildings in the other industries because 1) this layout is extremely efficient and 2) every other industry has way less traffic than oil. All you would have to do is simple math to find the balance of units extracted and units processed with enough storage so there are not any periods of process buildings waiting on raw materials.


The layout is as follows.

4 Rows of:
- 4 Large Oil Drilling Rigs
- 8 Oil Sludge Pyrolysis Plants
1 Row of:
- 5 Large Oil Drilling Rigs
- 11 Petrochemical Plants
6 Large Crude Oil Tank Farms set to balanced
20 Maintenance Buildings
Fire, Police, Subway, Garbage as needed

DO NOT use any of the workers' barracks. This seems counterintuitive but the increased efficiency you get from them if offset by each building having more trucks (not a higher number, they just spawn more frequently), which means more traffic. So much in fact that your process buildings will not be producing anything because they wont be getting any raw materials. It's insane how frequently trucks in the oil industry spawn.

However, the maintenance buildings increase the storage capacity and efficiency of the storage buildings. With the 20 maintenance buildings I have never had a process building waiting on materials. Not even for one second. I thought something was bugged but I tried it on a different map and watched the beautiful traffic flow for a full in game year straight and it never happened. The only problem is once in a blue moon the cargo terminal backs up for all of 10 seconds and then it clears up which I think is due to how crazy efficient the storage facilities are at maintaining balance. The only real traffic problems are when you first put in a new storage building and it is initially filling up. After that, it's smooth sailing.

With this setup, it produces a weekly income that goes between $50 and $80 thousand with about half of the jobs filled. Once almost all of them are filled, it produces $100,000+ easily.

And I forgot another thing. Ath the entrance, from the production area to the tank area, I added a one way express bus lane so my busses are abnle to do the whole round. I also use invissible city services at both recycle facilities (garbage (extra, just in case), crematorium, fire, and police). And there's an invissible metro station at the entrance area.

Oh, and I made nodes at each oil tank and used TM:PE Lane Connector to connect each lane to their own tank. First on right and left, next second in, first out, next third in, first and second out.

Takes care of the insane drive truckers have to position themselves early, and make a hassle for everyone.

I made a small modification wich seems to make the traffic flow a lot faster, the tunnel from the storage area back to the port and production area. That way they don't have to cross the road where the entrance traffic to the area comes. Just my 2 cents.

What are the three buildings in the bottom row. The row above the cargo shipyard.

Also curious on what’s in the top left. The very top left is a power plant, but what’s the other smaller building that isn’t a maintenance building?

Thank you really much for this setup! The only thing i can't fix is the backlog of trucks at the Oil Tank Farms. I tried every setup with TMPE. But when I let the trucks stay in the lane they will block the rest of the roads to circle back. Wenn I let them cross I'll end up in a big truck mess.
Any tips and tricks on how to fix this? :)

This is an amazing build for the oil industry. Only slight changes and it works great for farming. I have been using it all day and basically do not need unlimited money now. Great work!

Are you able to Deign other layouts for the other industries?
Maybe one the inconpasses all the industries and the unique factory's? I know it would be massive but would look so good
