Redress

Description
Inspired by the Vanity mod, this mod allows your character to keep a consistent appearance regardless of which armor or weapons they equip.

When you load up the game with this mod, you will be given three items: a sewing kit, a pair of shears, and a patch kit.

Once you have your character dressed the way you like, use the sewing kit to fix your look. This will save the appearance of your armor and weapons. From now on, no matter which armor or weapons you equip, they will retain the appearance of these items.

The sewing kit will only save items if you have them equipped, so if you want your character to wear a mage's hood always, but don't care about their armor or weapons, simply use the "Set Look" skill when you have nothing except a hood equipped.

When you unequip an item, it will return to its original appearance, so you can pass it to other PCs without worrying about that.

If you don't like your appearance anymore or you make a mistake, you can use the shears to purge all custom appearance settings and return your equipment to its original appearance.

You can use the patch tool to temporarily pause the effect of the sewing kit until you use the kit again. Use the patch again to cancel and continue using the previous look. This will allow you to experiment with new looks or swap out one or two items without having to reset your entire look.

Bugs:

This mod changes the template of items, so any scripts that detect equipping that template or the new template will be confused. For example, any item you make look like Swornbreaker will now count as Swornbreaker for dialogues. Don't accidentally give away your weapon!

Changing the appearance of the Tyrant's set will cause you to become permanently afflicted with the curses.

Changing some unique items will result in their names being replaced with UNNAMED ITEM. This does not appear to interfere with their function otherwise.

Changing an item's appearance too many times may result in the item reverting to unidentified, and attempting to identify it will open the identifying status bar, but will not identify the item. When equipped, the item will be invisible. Saving and reloading should fix the issue.

im having a issue where my quest for the contamination set wont complete. im not sure what the issue is, quest says "complete the elven armor" but even after i wear all the pieces the quest does not advance or complete. ive tried using the shears to remove the transmog and then re-equipping everything, but still nothing... im also using the free 4 relics mods, but im almost positive i found all pieces naturally without picking up any of the mod gear. my best guess is the redress mod might of messed up the script showing i had all the pieces and now the quest is stuck?

Same with the Vanity mod, model is saved, but the color is changed to the last equipment you wear. Is there any way to fix it?

Hi, the mod don't seem to work any longer... The items appear in the game, but the sewing kit does not save looks. It would be very appreciated, if you could bring the mod up to date... Thank you in advance!

Is there a way to change the appearance without loosing the effects of the vulture armor for example?

Well as you know if you modify the template it modifies everything based on it. Just like if you give a new ability to the "human" base stats entry it applies to every human in the game, but if you give a new ability to Lohse it applies only to Lohse.

Yeah that "when you copy the template you get the scripts along with them" was precisely the part I was referring to lol. Didn't mean to turn it into a whole conversation haha. I was mostly just thinking out loud since I have a bit of a background in programming and was pondering why it would be set up that ways.
