Description
This Mod adds A deep space Antenna with a range of 8000000000 meters, or "8 GigaMeters or 8 Million Km".

Max Energy cost is 32GW when you use it's max range.

The block is 21x17x12 in Large Blocks.
It is very large, and heavy, weighting around 140.81 tons.
(Second image has a engineer standing by it for comparison)

Comes with LODS for the main model and construction models.

Recently messed with texture scaling on most faces, so hopefully that makes it look better when painted.

Thanks to all the peps who answered muh questionss on the discord.

Credit to Darth Biomech for the inner dish texture (Though I did end up modifying it)

*New Update adds a Antenna Dish, without the base under it as a another block, it is the same other than it costs less (so it weights less) and of course is smaller height wise.

*Newer update adds a "bare" antenna dish, it costs less steel plates/construction/pipes to weld, and is lighter for rotor use.

I recommend using: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=514062285
with the mod so you can place it in survival.

you will need a mod that increases placement distance

I been trying to place this for the past 2 hours but my character is in the way of the hit box. Help!

I don't remember if this is correct, but I believe this antenna is set to the max range you can possibly set a antenna to in SE

This mod is really cool after doing some research if your antenna was in reality the radius of your signal is 0.0 5 of an astronomical units in other words whoever is doing the real star system thing when that is finished you could use two or five of these antennas to have a massive relay between planets in the star system assuming everything is properly scaled to reality I can't live without this mod but I don't suppose you're playing on making an antenna that is even more ridiculous than this antennas range like 10 astronomical units or more?

As the mountpoints on a object/grid increase, so do the calculations for adding/removing blocks, if I am remembering correctly. (so same will also happen with mega large grid sizes)
I only added mountpoints to the bottom, but my model for it is on my pc, but it is not workin till I get a new cpu for it, but I will check it out (once my pc works) to make sure I wasn't too crazy with the mountpoint stuff. . .
(which reminds me, I def want to redo the model of my "blackhole reactor" cuz wow is it ugly, and the amount of mountpoints it has is insane, even 1 will get ya to that limit lmao.)

I was just playing with this and while I love the concept of a Giant Radio Dish, I was having an issue where adding or removing blocks to a structure that had the dish caused the game to hang for a second or two, which makes it largely unworkable.

As far as I know that is "hard coded" or at least I don't have the skill to surpass it currently

I was wondering, If you tested the visible signal range?
As i'm also modding/upgrading Antenna's can all visible signal stop at 500km??
Yes I can still take control with remote block past that if MaxRange is set higher then 500km, but I can't see the signal, after passing 500km mark!!

Antenna 1 would reach the other, but Antenna 2 wouldn't reach antenna 1, so it would only allow 1 way communication, so you wouldn't be able to receive any signals from antenna 2

visual example:
()=range ( Ant1 ( Ant2 ))

(sorry I couldn't reply sooner, since I was off at a friends house for a few days.)
