Welcome to the H.E.V. Mark IV Protective System for use in hazardous environment conditions!

Advanced Protective Systems adds H.E.V. related equipment and functions to the game, no longer will you be running around with an invisible H.E.V. suit.

Functions of the suits and vests from the Half-Life series have been rebuilt in lua.

Your H.E.V. suit or P.C.V. will actually offer protection from the elements while you are on your crazy gmod missions or wacky gmod science experiments.

Each protective system can be customized and configured.

Optional HUD changing system!

Compatible with Permaprops!

Server Side suit voice system, with an alternate voice to boot!

Set the non-hev hud to the hud of your choice!

Default Half-Life 2 item_suit entity works as a fallback.


sv_aps_default_hud
Sets the default hud the the player has when not wearing armour, default_gmod_hud is the default value and represents the default half life 2 hud being used.
examples of some options are:
default_gmod_hud
hud_ehl2
gsrchud_enabled

sv_aps_hud_force
Enable or disable the APS API's Ability to override hud !ALL REQUIRED HUD ADDONS FOR EACH APSAPI PACK MUST BE INSTALLED! This is very hacky and is disabled by default for a reason.

sv_aps_death_persist
Enable or disable APS Suits staying on through respawns.

sv_aps_user_persist
Enable or disable APS Suits staying on through level changes and server restarts.

sv_aps_drowning
Enable or disable the drowning system.

Do I really need the hud addons?
No, if you have sv_aps_hud_force set to 0 the hud addons are not required at all!

My hud doesn't change when I put on the suit!
Make sure you have set a default hud with sv_aps_default_hud and have set sv_aps_hud_force to 1!

How do I customize the suit?
You can color the suit with the color tool and can edit the suit's properties with C menu!

I can't customize the Mark V for some reason!
You might be trying to customize the Half-Life 2 entity, make sure you spawn the APS entity!
Or you can put on the item_suit entity then take it off with /hevdrop and then customize it.

My Geiger counter doesn't work!
I have replaced the default Geiger counter with a LUA based one, you must wear H.E.V. equipment to use the Geiger counter!

I can't use chargers or batteries!
Make sure you are wearing an HEV suit or PCV!

I drown when I'm underwater!
I have added a drowning system, make sure you come up for air periodically!
