Description
Added the ability to detect an ambush (or lack there) to cunning - save game compatible.
Changing some of the values today -1/24/20- it will be save game compatible. Sorry if it messes with your campaign, but none of the changes should be dramatic enough to have a huge difference.


Brief description up top. I created this mod based off of an old mod I made. It adds certain buffs/debuffs to the 3 main attributes of Generals/Admirals; Authority/Cunning/Zeal. The purpose is to add a real contrast between battles involving different ranked Generals. In vanilla and in every other mod a rank 20 General wont have a huge advantage against a level 1 General. With this mod that changes. Ill give you the values up top for people that dont want to read a lot of stuff. For more explanation as to what and why read on.

Authority: Morale for General/Admirals force -35% to +45% at levels 1-20

Cunning: Offensive Ambush Chance -25% to +40% at levels 1-20
Ability to detect an enemy ambush for Generals -25% to +40% at levels 1-20

Zeal: Movement Range -25% to +35% at levels 1-20

In my old mod Dymamic Generals and Agents I added multiple things to each skill trait. This mod (at least for now) is much more streamlined. I may in the future add new things and I would like to eventually do Agents but for now this is going to be the jist of the mod. I do WELCOME FEEDBACK though and am open to tweaking.

AUTHORITY - I find authority to be the trait that stands out the most. I chose battle morale for this trait for 2 reasons. The first is simple and obvious, so that a highly ranked General or Admiral will have a distinct advantage vs a low ranked one. The second reason is a bit more in the weeds. 2 armies in the ancient world didnt always fight to the death. One side would break and rout pretty early on. So with inexperienced Generals giving their force low moral Im hoping that will be a factor. The values are this: Morale on land and sea starts at -25% at level 1 Authority and goes to +35 at level 20.

Cunning/Subterfuge - This one was a bit harder. In my old mod I chose 3 smaller yet important skill boosts. Since Im just doing 1 here it may seem that Subterfuge isnt as important as Auth and Zeal but it will be very important if you specialize or role play your generals. The values are this: Offensive Ambush chance starts at -25% at level 1 and goes up to +40% at level 20.
If you can get your general up to level 10 Authority then get high up with Cunning you will be able to Ambush the crap out of armies. It simulates a general like Hannibal's skill.

Zeal - Zeal is pretty cut and dry. Zeal to me has always means like gusto or energy for the cause. To me that translates well to movement range. The values are this: -25% movement range at level 1 up to +35% at level 20.

Compatibility - This mod should work with every campaign and every other mod. No other mod changes these values (thats why I made the mod actually). If you run into any problems please let me know.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I will. I created it to play but its always nice to know people are on the same page as you are.

I am back to Rome 2, does this still work with DEI?

sorry guys I am all warhammer all the time now. I think it should still work and I am actually very happy people are using it. I tried to get back into Rome 2 but I love WH2 too much. Cheers everyone

flank battle mod by andrew boyarsky and longer battles will last until close 20 min!

yeah I think this mod works fine. The battles will be shorter with this mod, so I suggest using slower battles with it.
