Description
Spiff's Practical Engineered Solutions, a division of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, presents the Deep Reach planetary miner, a vanilla small-grid design without mods or DLC, and contains no rotors or pistons making it a perfect survival-ready solution for large mining projects. Designed as a high-capacity vertical miner with a low center of gravity for maximum stability, the Deep Reach planetary miner extracts ores effortlessly with its 36 optimally-spaced drills, and transports ore in 10 large and 2 medium cargo containers. With the exception of the planet Pertam, the maximum lift capacity of this ship exceeds the carrying capacity of all available storage, i.e., 10 large cargo containers, 2 medium cargo containers, 36 drills, connector, and cockpit, and requires 4 large reactors and 4 large batteries for power.

NOTE: Ingame scripts (in advanced settings) must be enabled for the autolevel script to function! Thanks to Dixie Normas for the autolevel script: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1366126191

NO MODS, NO DLC, NO ROTORS/PISTONS; SURVIVAL READY AND PROJECTOR BUILDABLE!

STATISTICS
  - Blocks: 1,058
  - PCUs: 20,755
  - L × W × H: 19m × 17½m × 8m
  - Empty Mass: 271 tons
  - Maximum Ore Mass: 774 tons (using realistic 1-1-1 settings)

CONTROLS
{1} Drills
{2} Spotlights ON/OFF
{3} Camera Down
{4} AutoLevel ON/OFF
{5} Ore Detector ON/OFF
{6} Marker Lights ON/OFF
{7} Battery Recharge/Auto Setting
{8} Docking Connector LOCK/UNLOCK

Note: Remember to clear away stone and/or ice by selecting the drills {1} and right-clicking your mouse as you descend into the ground; select {2} for the spotlights and {3} for the downward camera view. Once you hit an ore deposit, left-clicking your mouse will collect ore.

NOTES FOR BUILDING WITH A PROJECTOR IN SURVIVAL
See the last picture for the projector's configuration.
1. Build a rotor frame on a powered grid; remove the large-grid rotor head and replace with a small-grid rotor head; lock rotation.
2. Stack 6 armor blocks, minimum, vertically above the small-grid rotor head to provide sufficient clearance for building the miner.
3. Build a small-grid projector on top of the topmost armor block; for consistency, rename the projector to be "DRM - Projector".
4. Load the blueprint into the projector; click on the setting to retain the blueprint after construction is complete.
5. Build the blueprint.
6. When completed, grind away the small-grid rotor head, armor blocks, and rotor frame, leaving the projector in place for future repairs.

I just finished some testing and found the ejectors working properly. Perhaps you need to exit SE and restart. Let me know if you're still having problems. Thanks.

I'll check it out.

Ejectors are not ejecting stone for me.

Four batteries added to the blueprint (see change notes).

Yea, I know they change stuff sometimes. I appreciate it.

I'm going to rework the design to add power (probably more batteries) because the design is anemic from a power standpoint (I don't seem to remember this being a problem before, but it's a problem now).

Let me know if power was your problem. Thanks.

OK, loaded the miner and tested it in a survival world on the Earthlike planet (1.0g gravity). I fully loaded every cargo container, the cockpit and connector, and all 36 drills with cobalt ore, then did a test flight. Power is maxed when lifting, but the ship still lifts. I then tested it, again fully loaded, on the Alien planet (1.1g gravity), and Pertam (1.2g gravity) without a problem.

However...I admit, when fully loaded, the ship is a pig that's a bit underpowered. The fact that your ship loses altitude when you're flying forward (or any other direction) is a classic symptom of not having enough power (I'm betting the power meter is pegged at 100%). You must have uranium ingots in all four large reactors, and the four batteries charged.

Thank you

Let me check to find out what's happened. Maybe something's been nerfed so it's not working anymore like it's supposed to work.

I am having issue making this stable. It will lose altitude while moving forward. What can I do to make this more stable.? I run the scrip, it is better but still unstable.. Let me know. I liked the design of the ship.. Thanks
