Thank you!
I was literally spending hours deleting portions and rebuilding them from scratch just to extend a section of my ship. It was making me not want to play the game.
Thank you so much!
When you have the templates, segments or whatever, in the design window you can just right click them and click "to clipboard" and paste as normal (ctrl-v) or you can press the "Copy to clipboard" button in the window.
When pastin multiple blocks, you might want to select another root block (or whatever it's called) the block you align the segment from. This is done by pressing "Alt" while pasted pieces is out. Then you just need to hover the mouse over the block you want to use as the alignment block and release alt. Now paste where you want it to go!
Hope that helps, if not, feel free to ask.
You can select multiple blocks at once through multiple options.
1. Use the "Select Blocks" button under the "saved designs" button in build mode, and then just use your mouse to click the blocks you want to select (you can also hold the mouse button and just sweep over all the blocks)
2. Use the "Regtangle Select" button, and drag out a selection. All blocks in this selection will be selected, hidden and all, so long as they are ENTIRELY inside the selection area.
3. Select blocks, hold ctrl, and then just continue to select blocks.
After that you just copy and paste as normal (ctrl-c, ctrl-v). You can save these block portions (templates) simply by pasting them into the "saved designs" wondow, or use the "save template from clipboard" button in the "saved designs" window, right next to saved designs.
It looks like it's a modular design, but how did you do it? I'm new to Avorion, and I'm nearly done with a cruiser I've been building, but I never saw an option to let's say, copy and save a set of blocks, that I could then paste into a different ship's build, for modular use.
Am I missing something somewhere? This game is notorious for not explaining some very important things here and there.
