Welcome to the IPECAC Community Mod!
The IPECAC Community Mod is a mod focused around the community, and as such, a large portion of our content is ideas given to us, by you! (Maybe not you in particular, but you get the idea)
We’ve gathered ideas from all over the Internet, from reddit, to discord, to our website, we’re happy to do our damnedest to make anyone’s ideas a reality! So what’s in store?


- 1 new character, Moses — Swing your cane and crack some skulls with the parter of the Red Seas himself!
- 90+ new items! - Establish your own army of bees with Honeycomb, sacrifice souls to the devil with the Demonic Talisman, or participate in democracy with the Ballot!
- 50+ new trinkets! - Numb the pain with Painkillers, overload on health with the Heart Biscuit, or celebrate diversity with the Pride Badge!
- 70+ new enemies! - Traverse Dr. Grimace's mine fields, face Wallow's emotional turmoil, and avoid all different sorts of tricky mimics and other hidden monsters!
- 2500+ new rooms! - The basement just got bigger!
- Many new secrets and Easter eggs to be found!
- At least 10% more poop!
- Much more!


This mod should be compatible with any other content-adding mods. If you encounter a mod conflict, let us know on our Discord server.
We also have special interactions with other mods, such as:
- External Item Descriptions: All items, trinkets, pickups, etc all support External Item Descriptions.
- Mod Config Menu: Certain aspects of the mod can be adjusted via this mod.
- Sewing Machine: Some familiars support upgrades from Sewing Machine, with more support planned for future updates.


"Where is X feature from the previous version?"
Many features have been removed or disabled from the Afterbirth+ version for a variety of reasons
- We felt it was a redundant or unneccesary feature, and as such it was removed.
- We felt that a feature was lacking in some aspects and not up to our standards, and has been hidden or disabled until we get around to working on it.
- A feature is still broken due to API changes, and as such, has been disabled until we can find an adequate fix for it.

For example:
- We thought Magnifying Glass was an addition that very little effect, and so it was removed.
- Possessed Screeps were removed as we felt they were too similar to Revenants.
- Nodulo and The Tapeworms still exist in the mod but do not spawn naturally as we feel there is still work to do on them.
- Certain new items like Wax Wings broke in the transition to Repentance and rather than being fixed, since they were due for a rework, they have been temporarily disabled until we add their new effects.

"Does Moses have any unlocks?"
Currently, Moses has no unlocks. We have unlocks planned for him but will most likely not add them until official unlock support is added.

"Where is Tainted Moses?"
Tainted Moses has only just left the planning phase and well be put into development at a later date.

"Are there any achievements/unlocks at all?"
See above; Unlocks are being reworked but will most likely only be added when/if we get confirmation on official unlock support. For now, all content added is unlocked by default.

"I found a bug!"

"Where can I post my ideas?"

"When will my idea get in?"
For an idea to get in, it has to first be accepted via our suggestions process, and then, when one of our devs has time, we might pick your idea out of the list of 700+ and code it. It's a bit of a lottery, though we do have some procedures. It's complicated, so tl;dr, eventually.

"Can I be a beta tester for future builds?"
Yes, you can! We have an applications channel in our discord if you want to help out. When we're looking for new/more testers, we'll look into the applications.

"How can I support you guys?"
You can support us by sharing the mod around, giving feedback, finding bugs, etc. A mod is only as good as the people behind it, and that includes the playerbase.

"These questions arent that frequently asked, I think you're making them up!"

ik this mod is broken and all but i wanted to report this error anyway it only happens with ipecac and fiend folio

i see
alphabirth is still somewhat useable, but the people who worked on it gave up on the game like 4-5 years ago, and every item is quality 0 (despite of course the items being better than quality 0)
also i dont really understand why the mod dev of 10 plagues doesnt want anyone to make it rep comp (to me it seems like gatekeeping for no reason but whatevs)

@tatarasanuarturliviu Admittedly I've thought about it before (in the same way Fiend Folio 'absorbed' a bunch of older mods into itself -- See Gutso The Great, The Peeping, Guwah's Greatures, etc. (The difference there is the developers were already, or became part of FF's dev team)) but have no plans to at current.

Origins is our main focus because there likely would've been no way to experience that mod otherwise, whereas you can still use Alphabirth and Plagues of Egypt (I believe, anyway.) We're going to ignore the irony that the Origins update is taking equally as long to develop, however. (It's still coming though!) Maybe in future, we might look at this form of 'collaboration.'

The creator of the Plagues of Egypt has said something along the lines of not wanting to be added to our mod and the feeling is mutual -- While it's the same 'topic' we have greatly different plans and ideas on how we're handling it.

are you guys also gonna add more items from other dead mods like the alphabirth packs or the 10 plagues of egypt mod? (cuz its tied to the moses story from the bible)
