This mod is an evolution of the Space Battles mod, adapted for the new version of System Scaling. This changes the radius of the battles and the speed of flights in the system, so that it would better correspond to the changed scale of the system.

When I started updating the Space Battles, I discovered a problem that I had not previously paid attention to. With an increase of 6 times, this became very noticeable. The fact is that with a proportional decrease in the range of the guns, the battles turned into a crazy ball of ships and flashes. Then I realized it was all about speed, which remained the same. After I reduced the speed of the ships in the system in proportion to the scaling, everything returned to normal. Space battles began to look wonderful again.

After update 1.1, these mods no longer reduce ship speed constantly. Although, in essence, they are still doing this, but with one important change. Now both modes globally slow down the flight speed of ships by 6 times, their difference is different.

I decided to add the concept of "cruising speed" to the game. This works as a significant increase in sublight speed when ships are not in combat. Thus, we solve the problem of slow and tedious flights and make space battles similar to those that were in the very first version of Stellaris. This method was suggested to me by Chickenhunt (author of Amazing Space Battles). Some settings for the behavior of the ship in battle have also been changed to fully combine with ASB (no longer needs a compatibility patch) and greater entertainment.

Changing the speed of ships will significantly affect the gameplay. So I decided to rename the Space Battles mod to Ships in Scaling. I divided the mod into 2 variations:

  • Ships in Scaling Hard - “cruis acceleration” is a gameplay element and depends on the type of traster (sublight engine) used. This acceleration does not exceed 400%.
  • Ships in Scaling Lite (this version) - “cruis acceleration” is a passive modifier for all ships and increases the speed of sublight movement by 600%. Thus, global slowdown is fully compensated. Also in this version, the radius of ships entering the battle is increased.

I recommend trying both versions of the mod in order to decide for yourself which one is best for you.

Hi, when ships are in transit for reinforcements they travel without the cruise modifier, so it takes a very long time, like it would in the hard version of the mod.

for some reason a lot ships will just fly in circles whenevre they enter combat

Guys, I'm currently working on an update to Ships in Scaling. There are a lot of tests to be done. Please write to the channel #ships-in-scaling on Discord of the Real Space server about the problems you noticed. Be sure to attach a detailed description of the problem and a game save file where I can look at it and test it. This is very important, because in my tests I can miss a lot.

In my case this mod just make my game freeze and crash at day 2 of the month i am actually at the endgame and by disabling this it fixed it

this version has a fatal problem

invincible as long as you build a hangar in the spaceport as the aircraft's engagement range reaches the end of the system!:steamthumbsdown:

找到原因了:是因为舰载机交战距离太大,导致舰船误以为自己进入战斗状态(武器打不到)。不造舰载机就行了

炮击电脑不能用了。估计是射击范围小于炮击电脑认为的舰船安全距离,于是我的战列舰就只会跑,结果被护卫舰追来追去。哈哈

Корабли время от времени отказываются сражаться. А точнее, линкоры просто выпускают штурмовиков, и остальной флот просто не идёт на сближение. А иногда даже штурмовики просто начинают бесцельно кружить.

unfortunately this mod massively bugs out fleet combat, like others have stated
