Road to Heaven

Description
With the war between Blue and Green raging on, all those bodies are starting to pile up--and now you're one of them! Caught halfway between Earth and the big respawn in the sky, the battle resumes once again, as there's no vacancy, and you're stuck in the middle, with your former rivals! Battle for the skies in this map suspended high above an uncertain surface in Road to Heaven!

Road to Heaven is built entirely to bring some challenging thought and difficult tactics to bear on the field. With the entire battleground suspended in midair, sure it's possible to cut off your opponent from their base, but to do so is to expose yourself to danger! You can fortify your spawn point, or you can fortify the sky islands! You can snipe or you can intercept enemy flankers! One thing is for certain: Thinking outside the box on this map goes a LONG way--but be careful, because it's an even LONGER way DOWN!

@squeaky bacon: You're completely correct! Base destruction IS a part of the intended design for the map, but in this first implementation, it was far too easy to hamstring your opponent. A new version will be out tomorrow withe improved function for the miner and greater base security for both sides.

The first round of work for the update is done, but I've got to step away for a break. The support system for the floating islands is being improved, as will the landing zone down below to make falls and jumps a little more lethal. I'm hoping to have the update posted no later than Saturday morning. I'll put up more updates as they come.

Wow. I've been pretty sick the last week, and I wasn't sure if I'd have time to get this week's map finished, and I rushed. It really, really shows in this map, and I apologize sincerily to everyone for that. There will be an update as soon as I'm well enough to spend any real time in front of the computer. I'll be working on it in bits until I can get a better product out for everyone.
