Description
How do you protect a house against 10ft storm surge?
Why you raise it up 15ft!

Stilt houses like this are common along the eastern coast of the United States, particularly in states that are at a high risk of hurricanes (SC, NC, GA, FL, MS, AL, LA, TX). Hurricanes and their associated storm surges can cause massive amounts of flooding with sea levels rising several feet during the storms. These houses hope to sit high and dry during these intense storms.

This particular set of houses was based on several in the Windy Hill Beach neighbourhood of North Myrtle Beach, SC.[www.google.ca]

Important!
Since the houses in this set are level 1, I would recommend using Historical Districts mod by boformer or Plop the Growables by TPB while building with them.

The houses with -A suffix DO NOT have landscaping and are plain for your own decoration!
The houses with -B suffix DO have landscaping and are ready to be placed in your own beach town!

Stilt houses arent just common on the coast. They can found throughout the Midwest along large flat riverbanks where flooding is common. There's plenty of these up and down the Illinois and Mississippi rivers here in Illinois. One place that comes to mind is along the Mississippi from Alton up to where the Illinois river joins. Also a few here and there north and south of Peoria area.

Hey there, thanks for the answer. Going back and redoing creations isn't appealing in the least, so I totally understand. They're okay as they are, and I found out why the LODs across the city were going nuts. Two other asset creators had LOD textures that were not standard size (32, 64, 128, 256 etc). Amazing that something so insignificant as the size of one asset's LOD texture can throw such a big monkey wrench into the visuals of the game.

@MrMiyagi I did create LODs for these houses but they may be a bit off because they were some of the first LODs I tried to create. These houses are far from perfect, and if I had the time/energy I would totally love to improve them and create more for the collection. I'll have to see what the future holds.

Hey there! I love these houses. Is the LOD autogenerated or did you make your own LOD? They're not terrible, they're just a little funky and I'm trying to figure out if it's something on my end or if it's just because they have an autogenerated LOD. I have a LOT of LODs looking funny in my current save game. :/

Perfect for a New Orleans build ( Miyagi did a great New Orleans map). Great job, as always. I use a lot of your content. Thanks.
