Similar to Legions mod, but only allows 3 units in a tile.

I made this mod in order to make the logistics of moving armies easier, but without going back to stacks of doom from previous Civ games. I also hoped that it would make escorting weak units (like seige weapons and ranged units) easier.

-----Mechanics-----
When attacking an enemy stack the unit with the highest TOTAL combat strength is attacked first, likewise for defending. TOTAL combat strength is the combat strength after all multipliers (fortified, defense bonuses etc.)

Example: You have a stack of one pikeman and one longswordsman. Even though the longswordsman has a higher combat strength if the pikeman is fortifies, or has more defense multipliers, the pikeman is takes the damage from an attack (both melee and range.)

A good way to tell whose on top of an enemy stack is to look at the unit art (not the icon.) To see which units are in a stack, mouse over the stack for a second and it will provide a list.

Counter type units (ex: pikemen) only counter if they have the highest combat strength. So you will still have to have certain stacks dedicated to countering, or make sure the counter-unit has the highest TOTAL combat strength.
Also, the honor policy bonus (+10%combat strength for adjacent units) does not work for stacks, you must have a unit next to the stack. You can stack 3 non-combat units as well. Oddly enough, you can stack your millitary units with foreign non-enemy units, vice-versa (its very scary when a unit comes from inside yours and kills the unit you were going to kill.) But you can't stack your civilian units with any foreign unit.

-----AI-----
The uses stacks aswell, typically even more than I did. But the AI uses stacks differently than you might. It usually only stacks units of the same type, and also likes to move its units inside yours (if you are not at war.) Both of these can catch you off guard easily if you don't check to see what's in a stack. You might see them move 1 measly archer towards your single unit, but then get destroyed when you find out it was actually 3. Moral of the story: CHECK THE STACK. The AI is fond of stealing barbarian kills by mysteriously jumping out of your own unit. However one thing thing the AI doesn't do as often as it should is make a balanced army. You might hide your seige weapons inside a stronger unit, but the AI likes to keep em seperated.

-----Bugs-----
-Damage taken by a stack seems to appear on all units in the stack, this is not the case though, it is a graphical glitch. Check the actual unit health by hovering over the stack.

Is this mod no longer working?
I subscribed to it and enabled it in CIV 5 but I couldn't stack my scout onto my warrior.

hmm, also, you can't move onto allied units even when trying to move a non-combat onto a allied-combat, ie, combat should not be being initiated, whereas AI opponents can, move into yours!! major 1-way street. needs a few things like this fixed in V2, if one is made. Otherwise good.

found out the hard way u literally can't attack the enemy if your city is under siege and you want to attack the seiging army's unit from within your city which has multiple units stacked in said city...imagine my dismay
