B0verhaul


A simple overhaul with a few goals:
1. Differentiate between bows and crossbows. Give me a reason to pick one over the other.
2. Add a couple new skills to the mix for Warfare and Scoundrel based bow users.
3. Give a reason to put points into Huntsman instead of a Warfare dump.

Just an FYI on weapon ranges. At 0 Huntsman, ranges will all be limited to 10m unless noted. Each point in Huntsman adds 2m range, so as an example at 5 Huntsman, bow attacks reach 20m, 30m at 10 Huntsman.

Weapons:
- Decreased native range on bows and crossbows to 10m.
- Added bow and crossbow skill "Practiced Shot" to replace the basic attack. 2AP 0CD 0 Memory. 100% Damage, range increased by skill in Huntsman.
- Decreased native range on all consumable arrows to 10m, with range increased based on skill in Huntsman.

Bows - Finesse Ranger and Rogue
- Bring base damage up to 100%
- Add 10% Critical Chance, 175% Base Critical Damage
- Increase max Finesse requirement to 16.

Crossbows - Strength Ranger and Warrior
- Changed to Strength based weapon, max requirement 16
- Increased usage to 3 AP, along with other Huntsman skill shots when using Crossbow.
- 100% Damage as Physical, Plus 33% Additional Damage as Piercing, 10% Accuracy boost, -3 movement.

Skill Changes
- Farsight - removed Source points requirement
- Ballistic Shot - range increased by skill in Huntsman, increased AP to 3.
- Skyshot, Barrage, Skyshot, Arrow Spray, Marksman's Fang, and Pin Down - Base range reduced to 10m. Range increased with skill in Huntsman.
- Assassinate - Damage doubled when used from stealth, up from 50%. Base range reduced to 10m. Range increased with skill in Huntsman.

New Skills
-Shadowshot - Launch a deadly shot for 125% damage before slipping into the shadows. Damage is doubled if used from stealth. 2AP, 5CD, cannot be used outside of combat, sets invisibility for 2 turns. Range increases with skill in Huntsman. Requires 2 Huntsman, 2 Scoundrel. Combine One Huntsman skillbook and one Scoundrel skillbook to obtain.

-Overdraw - Overdraw your bow for increased power and range. Shoot a target for 125% damage. Range increases with skill in Huntsman. 2AP, 4CD. Requires 2 Huntsman, 2 Warfare. Combine one Huntsman skillbook and one Warfare skillbook to obtain.

i love your mod,but can you make a version with crossbow using 2 ap not 3 ap to shoot and skill, please?

hey there, would you be able to make one with the bows=crossbows in terms of damage value, and without the range reduction ?
I really prefer using the bow, but it's pretty useless due to the damage difference between the two of them.

so do i need to actually USE the practice shot or can i just regular attack an enemy by clicking on them. I'm not sure I see the need to click on practice shot then an enemy when you can just basic attack an enemy. Does it do something different than basic attack? Description says it replaces basic attack but i can still use basic attack... I'm so lost on this practice shot thing lol I like everything else.

Definitely enjoying the overhaul you put together here. One problem though, I have noticed that on some of the vanilla weapons, the Practiced Shot isn't present. The first I've noticed is the Shadow's Eye crossbow you can get early on in Ft Joy for Ifan's quest. It already has the Chameleon Cloak ability on it, so I'm wondering if that's why Practiced Shot wasn't added? Is there a way, through crafting or using a skillbook, to learn the Practiced Shot ability as a normal skill, even if it costs Memory?

Hey Prof. The Basic Attack will be restricted to the 10m range. The Practiced Shot ability is a new skill that now comes with every Bow and Crossbow and factors in the Huntsman skill to increase range of the basic attack. If you're not seeing it, its likely that there's another mod affecting the core _bows and _crossbows items in the Stats tables. If so, try changing up the load order. Hope that helps!
