Hustler Remote Mining Base

Description

Scarcity requires risk, and you're the engineer for the task.

The Hustler Mk1 is designed for the opportunistic engineer (and maybe some comrades) to hunt rare ores, at far off distances, for long lengths of time. Disappear into the asteroid fields in search of platinum, uranium, gold, and silver! Then come back with a cargo-hold full of rare ingots: Trade them for credits, use it for construction, or horde it - and tank the market as you desire.

While the Hustler has moderate defenses, they are strictly deterrents. Power the decoys and engage the jump drive before you suffer heavy damage. Find a new field, or return with backup and retake your claim.

Decorative Pack Required, no other mods needed.

  • Platforms have sorters set to drain all except uranium ingots and ammo.
  • Two Connectors at the bottom, rear of the ship allow you to bring along a welder, grinder, or even an interceptor.
  • Onboard projector to highlight necessary repairs
  • Fully programmed flight seat LCDs with usable toolbars
  • Gravel purge equipped, because no one likes gravel.

Even though it's mass is near 1,100,000 million kg, the Hustler is a robust ship with plenty of propulsion. It can land on moons with additional cargo in excess of 2,200,000 kg.

Scripts used:
  • Automatic LCD's 2
  • Aggressive Air Locks

I love the ship!!! Can anyone tell me how to get H2 fuel from Survival station? I have Ice in all H2O2's and all Oxygen and Hydrogen tanks are full???

Yes. I think there will be more stuff I have in mind. At the front top where the connector is. Maybe I will extend this space and add an automatic welder there. As mentioned below....it would allow to weld some ships in need. Maybe a scout, little fighter, cargo drone, miner... all in small ship blocks. We shall see :) This would save some space and to put an hangar into the ship. After the use of a small block sized ship, delete it again. Weld a new one when needed again :)

Nice work, Gtollwerk :) It's fun to see what people do with workshop items. It says v1.1, are you still adjusting things?

Blueprint should be up in the Workshop: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1921492168

I will add my blueprint to the workshop later today. Still some plans to improve more on it. I do also have plans to expand the landing plattform and maybe get a ship welder in there. So it would be possible to weld a little scout, carrier, mining shop right from there... Ongoing work in progress :)

I'd still love to see it :) That sounds quite interesting, especially using mods to get power up without making it a huge monstrosity of a ship, lol.

I am pretty much finished, test flights are done also. I did build everything new from scratch with the original theme, but just larger :)

The problems where the engines/power. In Vanilla there is not much room to get everything into place and let it work as a dropship version/ mobile base and to land it without crashing or runing out of power :) Still the plan was to land and start with 2 full large cargo containers and this needs alot of engine power! On the other hand it would also destroy the design alot to add the needed engines for take off in Vanilla.

So I had to add mods for Hydrogen/ Ion engines, reactors and batteries. In this configuration it works pretty well and can even take off from planet Earth with one large cargo room filled up with stuff, the second cargo container filled by 25%. When interested I could post it in the Workshop with a short list of mods I used and also of course to recommend a link to the original version here :)

@Grollwerk I'm excited to see what you come up with.
