Douglas SBD Dauntless A-24 "Banshee" [BROKEN]

Douglas SBD Dauntless, received in the US Air force designation A-24 "Banshee", is a dive bomber the period of WWII. It is considered one of the best military aircraft of its time. It received its recognition for good aerodynamics and robust construction, allowing to perform aerobatics and conduct dogfight as a fighter. It was these aircraft that attacked the Japanese carrier group at Midway Atoll, inflicting damage from which the Imperial Navy was never able to recover. In addition, he took part in repelling the landing of Japanese troops in New Guinea, in the battles of the Coral sea, Guadalcanal, the Mariana Islands and Battle of the Atlantic. Produced and used by the United States throughout the war.

In the course of development, we had to face all sorts of problems. The most serious of them were the landing gear. When folded at high speeds, they were tearing away from the plane! The second engineer had to work hard to fix it. In the end, we had to choose between two evils. Because of a bug the landing gear do not work fully as have to. On the ground, the plane will glide like ice. On the other hand it will allow you to feel like a strongman, alone moving the plane with your hands.
