[HIATUS] Multiple B-Double Chassis+Axle Options

SCS Owned Trailer Combo Mod Collection

Description
ATTENTION:
Both of my B-Double mods are officially being put on hiatus. They are NOT abandoned. I just do not know when I'll have the drive/energy to update them. Please check the comments for an explanation I posted on July 26, 2022. Thank you for understanding.

Introduction & Description
This mod adds every possible Chassis+Axle combination into the Trailer Shop under the "Chassis" section for B-Doubles, as well as unlocking the state restriction, so you can take them anywhere in Singleplayer. In Vanilla ATS, the B-Doubles only have two options for Chassis+Axle. A 4-axle option (Box, Flatbed, and Container Chassis) and a 5-Axle option (Box, Flatbed, Container Chassis, and Grainhopper). With this mod, every possible combo is added.

Note 1: The below combinations are only using the 3-axle B-Double Chassis as the lead trailer. The 3-axle B-Double chassis is realistic, and it also makes far more sense when using longer rear trailers as it would create more stability. Refer to B-Train Wikipedia[en.wikipedia.org]

Note 2: The only trailers with a "B-Double Chassis", at this point in time, are the 28' (Box & Flatbed), 30' (Container Chassis), and 32' (Grainhopper) trailers. There are no other ownable B-Double chassis' currently in the game.

Sidenote
Once SCS Software updates and adds more trailers as ownable trailers, depending on if whether or not those trailers have the appropriate chassis, chassis length, and axle options, I'll update the mod with more combinations. It's all waiting on SCS as I don't really experiment with attempting to make non-ownable chassis' work.

TruckersMP Compatibility & Warnings
If you take these trailers into TMP, you will be limited to Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho since these are Chassis+Axle options for the B-Double chain-type, and TMP disables active mods upon loading your profile in MP. But, I've made a version of the mod that is compatible with TMP. You can find that version here (→Click me←)

Convoy Mode Compatibility & Warnings
This mod is compatible with Convoy mode. Simply enable the mod like any other and enjoy!

Looking for more axle/length options?
Check out this mod! Expanded Trailer Combinations. Gdog900 has taken to the task of learning 3D/model editing tools to make new, custom "hook" and B-Double chassis axle and length options. Something I can't provide, but many have asked for. Their mod is NOT TruckersMP compatible. But this should be obvious, given it's using custom assets. So please don't bug them with that question.
NOTE: You MUST load the above linked mod higher than my mod, otherwise there will be a conflict between the two mods involving rear bumpers missing on trailers in the shop.

Mod Theft
It has begun. I never wanted to add this kind of section to the description to my mods... But of course, some people lack common courtesy. So, here goes:
If you see my mods on any external website, and I have not personally linked it in any of my mods' comments or descriptions here on the Steam Workshop, please DO NOT download it. I cannot guarantee it has not been edited or altered in any way, maliciously or otherwise. Additionally, the mod may be hosted on a site like Sharemods, where every download generates a small amount of money for the uploader. Therefore, the person who stole the mod would be profiting off my work.

I do not lock my mod files because I personally see no real reason to. For the most part they are text file edits with, occasionally, custom UI icons. Plus, if people can see how I did something in my mods, they may learn from it and make their own mods. This is exactly how I learned. By looking at the files of other mods and tinkering around, figuring things out.

If you want to reupload my mod, PLEASE ASK FIRST, and respect my wishes regardless of if I say "yes" or "no". I respect those who ask permission, and especially respect those who respect the author's wishes. I can almost certainly guarantee I will say "No", but things change, so who knows.

If you are thinking of coming into my mods' comments to defend mod theft, do not bother. Your comments will be ignored and/or deleted, and you will likely be blocked. There is absolutely zero justification for mod theft of free mods.

Hey all, with the Ownable Gas Cisterns coming in 1.47, I wanted to get a little ahead of that and answer the inevitable questions coming my way. I've opted into the 1.47 Open Beta and so far it appears there are only the Single and B-Double chain type. So if I find the energy/drive to eventually update these B-Double mods, Gas Cisterns will be in it.

Additionally, I am officially placing both of my TPD mods on hiatus. There's a lot going on in my life right now that's draining a lot of energy from me and I just simply do not have the drive to update any of my trailer mods right now. In all honesty, I'm giving thought to just simply closing my trailer mods altogether. There are other trailer mods that do what I do to an equal, lesser, or even greater extent. My trailer mods, while relatively simple in what's done to make them work, are tedious for me to update/maintain. With other better mods out there, I don't even use my own trailer mods anymore.

Does this mean I'll stop making mods or updating my other mods entirely? I can't say for sure. My Foodtank Cargo mod is also fairly tedious to maintain. My other smaller mods aren't as tedious, such as the Unrestricted Air Horn and Slower Blinker mods. My Expanded Wheel Tuning mod can get tedious at times as well, but not nearly to the extent as my trailer mods or Foodtank cargo mod. Time will tell I suppose, if I stop modding this game or simply maintain a few of my mods.

Regardless of what happens, it's been a great time. I'm glad I could bring some additional joy to this game for so many of you with my simple mods. I wish all of you the best, and safe travels.

If you have any other B-Double than a Box, Flatbed, Gooseneck, or Grainhopper, the state restrictions are still in place as I haven't added any other trailers to this mod since the Grainhopper was added to the game.

This mod is on hiatus for the foreseeable future, so I'd highly recommend downloading Gdog900's mods. His mods cover far more than mine while also adding combos that I can't:

I really like this mod, but the state restriction unlock in single player doesn't seem to be working for me...did I miss an extra step somewhere?
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 22 Aug, 2022 @ 2:45am
That would be a triple. I only do doubles, sorry.

hello do you think you can add a 28'+28'+53' 4 Axle Steer ? if you have some time to spare
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 7 Aug, 2022 @ 9:52pm
A: Read the last two large comments from me on the 26th of July.

B: I've said in the past in the comments of either this or my TPD mods, that I don't intend/plan to do anything other than B-Doubles and TPDs.

Updating descriptions, while significantly less work than creating new combos, also grates on the mind a bit. Notepad++ makes all of the work a little easier as it's more organized & there are tools in the program which help immensely in cutting down some of the repetition, though again, it's just tedious. It's not easy, for me at least, staring at a bunch of text in text documents for a couple hours on end. If I step away to take a break, I lose where I was & what I was doing (damn you ADD/ADHD! D:< ), which typically leads to errors that I later find in testing, occasionally stumping me for a bit before my mind slowly transitions back into "modding mode" & I spot & fix the errors.

So, the main issue for me is pushing past that initial slog of updating the main mod. Once the main mod is done, the TMP version isn't as bad to do. I can't say when I'll get around to updating the B-Double mods, but I do promise they WILL get updated eventually.

Safe travels,
~Luna
