Description
KONGO (AFONSO I)

UA: APOSTLE OF THE KONGO
  • Receive a copy of any foreign Missionary that begins within your borders. All Missionaries have +2 Movement within your borders and boost nearby city Production when fully expended.
UB: KULUMBINI (UNIVERSITY)
  • The Kulumbini is the unique University replacement for Kongo. Unlike the University, the Kulumbini does not require a Library in order to be constructed, instead granting one for free. It also increases the city's Faith when it is working Jungle tiles. The Kulumbini can also be constructed at any time so long as the founder of the city's religion has researched the Education Technology.
UU: NEVONDA (MUSKETMAN)
  • This unique Musketman replacement for the Kongo can only be trained in the Capital. It is weaker than the Musketman, but spawns with any Missionary that you receive a copy of from a foreign civilization. Nevonda are especially effective at getting an advantage over your enemies early, although they are less effective at going toe-to-toe with other Musketmen.

I have a problem while playing in this Congo civ. It got crushing multiple times. even in the classical period. here's my example, Buy buildings options is frozen the game or waiting until the next turn can cause crash the game. If you asked me why i have this problem? i'd check the file game, delete all of the unwanted mods and restored the backup civ's game files. Still The problem remains the same as i told you. could you fix this mod? i think all of the problem came from this mod.

I also had on several occasions CTDs with Kongo as AI... not sure of exact trigger but it occured early in game so could well have been related to Kongo trying to found pantheon. Using RtP collection, CDv17, EEv7, HRv45.

The culture is set as West-African but wouldn't Bantu be more appropriate? Geographically West-African seems to stop with Nigeria and Bantu seems to start below there, so Kongo area...

when I play game, for some reason after researching education I can't build the unique university replacement - does it only show up once the founder of the city's majority religion has researched education?

Got you. Thanks.

You should still build a library. The UB benefits you a) by making that Library maintenance free and b) by allowing you to more quickly get newer cities up and running science-wise
Brad McGuire 30 Aug, 2019 @ 10:32pm
Seems detrimental to not build a Library, in place of the UB? Won't that reflect negatively on Science output?
