Description
A RimWorld mod that adds ritual scarring and tattoos as a neolithic form of body modification.

Procedures
Tattoo and Scarify are new operations that can be added as bills for each of the arms, legs, and torso. Although the operations are safer with a more talented doctor, they are fairly easy compared to most surgeries and require only that they have some basic artistic skill. A single unit of any medicine is used for each procedure, which is performed without anesthetic. Once healed, tattooed and scarified limbs provide small bonuses to social impact and pain shock threshold respectively.

Recovery
These procedures are painful and require some time to heal before bonuses appear.

Tattoo
  • Tattooed (Fresh)
    • initial stage, lasts for one day
    • +20% Pain
  • Tattooed (Healing)
    • one day after procedure is finished, lasts for one day
    • +5% Pain
    • +0.5% Social Impact
  • Tattooed
    • two days after procedure is finished, permanent
    • +1% Social Impact (5% total, if applied to both arms, both legs, and torso)

Scarify
  • Scarified (Fresh)
    • initial stage, lasts for one day
    • +40% Pain
  • Scarified (Healing)
    • one day after procedure is finished, lasts for two days
    • +20% Pain
  • Scarified (Healing)
    • three days after procedure is finished, lasts for two days
    • +10% Pain
    • +1% Pain Shock Threshold
  • Scarified
    • five days after procedure is finished, permanent
    • +2% Pain Shock Threshold (10% total, if applied to both arms, both legs, and torso)

I was aiming for a 5/10% total bonus which is why there's also no feet, hands, or neck. The other reason for no face tats was because I didn't know of a way to render them, but I'll look into pawnmorpher. I agree that that would be a nice addition.

I enjoy this a lot but I feel like there's a major oversight. No face tattoos. Also if you somehow got the body part overlays working from pawnmorpher to make actual tattoos show up for the torso that'd be sick

If the operation is successful, there's no impact on the health of the part and the pain will only last during the healing process. Failed operations will have the usual risks of permanent damage.

I'll be honest, I mostly just like the idea of intentionally giving your pawns "aesthetic" scars - but the tattoos are cool too!
By the way, do the scars made by this mod have any impact on the body part's health, and do they cause any long-term pain?
